Going back to Jorvik? Success!

Currently, as we continue to traverse this forest to go back to Jorvik, I'm carrying this kid at my back like a father to his kid.

"And this is your fault to begin with kuya so bear with it... not like I'm heavy or anything..."

After I fought the kid, the match ended with Ms. Freya stopping the fight after seeing the kid on the floor that is barely moving.

Because of the impact she received, it seems that she can't move but.. I'm quite skeptical to it since I'm sure that I minimized most of the danger when I throw her there.

Maybe because I pulled her up, her legs are the one to receive most of the impact? Maybe must have been that.

So because of that, I have no choice but to carry her.

The kid blocked my mouth with her hands and didn't let me speak. Somehow, I feel some Deja vu with this but I can't remember why.

Suddenly, Ms. Freya that is the walking right beside me asked me a question.

"The one you used against Alruna to throw her on the ground, that technique."

Ohh the throw? Well... It's called a shoulder throw.

I wanted to say to Ms. Freya its real name which is Ippon Seoi nage that is a Judo technique that I used back when I was training back when I was on earth with Lin.

Remembering it, I even mastered many of their technique that even a master in judo complimented me but it seems that it's really different when you used it in a real fight A.K.A not winning to Lin which is my real aim.

It's supposed to be a martial arts that focus more on counters but somehow, it doesn't work against her. But I guess, it's enough for this annoying kid in my back.

I think It's like the comparison between a Kata in Karate vs the actual matches where mastering the technique doesn't necessarily mean you'll do great in actual fights and in the same sense, their sports version to the traditional style or the mix that they did in MMA but still, I guess real fighting where you're not bounds by the rules are really just different.

Well, it's name is called one arm shoulder throw.

I just thought that it would be kinda weird for them to hear it's original name so I did that. I don't want to raise suspicion as much as possible after all.

Suddenly, Ms. Freya started to laugh for some reason.

As a reaction both me and the kid tilted our heads to the confusion that we are receiving from the Big sister of our group.

I scratched my ear as scratch away the itch on my ears.

"You two, you two are a really good tandem aren't you two?"

This time, Ms. Freya is just looking at us while smiling.

"Back to the topic. Mr. Juan that's a really great technique wasn't it?"

While speaking, Alruna remove her arms around my neck and crossed her arms on her chest. Because of that, she almost fall but luckily she was able to grab onto me again.

What the kid did though was not really grabbing but more of choking me with her arms strangling my neck.

Ahh... yes of course.

Explaining it shouldn't be hard.

It's a technique that is taught to me back then... in our village...

To explain it's fundamentals. The technique or the martial art itself mostly focus on the defense instead offence since many of its techniques focus more on redirecting the force the opponent used against them.

Actually, there's also some offense to it and some choke, holds etc but I think I shouldn't tell too much.

"Ohhh! so it's more like the quite the opposite of my technique?"

Somehow, this kid's eyes are shining. She's glowing again. It looks like she found some interest of what I'm talking about.

She's kinda right though, her techniques focus on eliminating threats before they could react while the technique I used is for reacting to the threat.

But didn't I just use it against her? Though I think why I beat her is more because it's her first time to experience my technique that's why she wasn't able to react but still, I expected for her to atleast be tsun tsun about it and not like this you know.

"I'm sure if you teach me about those type techniques, I will become invincible!"

So that's how it is... Really, this kid.

After that, we talk more about the martial arts stuff and about some other topics as we continue to walk towards Jorvik.

Hmm, is it just me or the Soldiers in this City is kinda more numerous than before?

After some time, we have gotten back to Jorvik and is currently just walking back to the guild.

"Didn't you hear Mr. Juan?"

"Apparently an Orcish fort is spotted in this forest and it is believed that it's only a matter of days before they attack."

So a seige battle!?

Oh shit, I did get excited there.

"Ehh? Ehem, I'm not sure myself because knowing Bergen. They might attack first themselves instead of fighting inside this wall."

Why? Isn't being inside the wall give them a better chance of winning?

That sounds irresponsible.

"Kuya, that's wrong!"

Suddenly, the kid who is snuggling up in my back pop her head up and join in our conversation.

Well, it's quite cold in this place after all. For me atleast.

"Why Bergens will surely attack first is because we Bergenians are brave people, we take everything on and do not cower behind something like wall!"

Brave... But isn't that idiotic?

"Right?!... No it's not idiotic! With our Cavalry that is the best in the world, we would win every battle even without those walls!"

Right, right but didn't the orc set up a fort in the middle of the forest? Surely cavalry won't be that useful if the orcs holed up inside their fortress.

"Welll..."

"Hmmm, But Mr. Juan if my information is correct. Those orcs would surely fight outside their fort and not stay inside their fortress.

Seriously? Aren't both of them just idiots?

"Well, on this matter I would say it's only the Bergen side which is quite not using their brain in the moment."

"Freya!"

"But it's true. The only good reason to fight outside the walls is that the citizens won't be included in the fight. For me bravery is useless if people will die meaninglessly anyway. We enjoy a great advantage and yet we don't use it just because we can't use our cavalry to fight. For me that's just arrogance."

It looks like Ms. Freya is heating up.

"It's not arrogance but bravery. Then what about those Orcs then!"

"There's a fine line between bravery and arrogance Alruna, one is just refusal while the other is acceptance. Pls keep that in mind Lady Bergen."

Woow, it's getting hot in here isn't it?

But refusal and acceptance huh, maybe refusal refers to the arrogance part where the other lords refuse to accept the fact they can't always use their cavalry and acceptance... is the brave part where they accept the fact they can't always use them in battles.

"Well, for those orcs. I'm thinking that if they would use their brains, they would know that if they just keep holing up in their fortress, they would be surrounded by the Bergen soldiers which is really bad for them."

They will be cut off from their supplies after all. And if they try to come out they might just get mowed down by the cavalry too.

I guess why they built the fortress is just for the monster that lurks in the night forest and so that they couldn't easily be raided if they're spotted by the Bergen's side.

"Uhuh! You hear that Kuya, that's what I have thought in the first place! Since we could bring them out, we could just rout them in one piece."

I also heard that Bergens specialized in attacking rather than defense so maybe they are also considering that. But really, even with that, I would still choose that the Bergens soldiers should just hole up in their walls and fight a defensive battle.

"Hey! Don't ignore me!"

"I quite agree with you with that Mr. Juan but, Bergens are known for being proud so I think that's mostly imposible."

"Don't ignore me too Freya!"

Then why is this wall built then if they weren't going to use it?

"Well, it was the doing of the Duke of Bergen. The Duke of Bergen after all is a wise and charismatic leader. Even if many of the Lords isn't in favor of the idea, they can't really oppose him as they know that the Duke is more knowledgeable and powerful than them."

"Hmp! After all, he was the greatest general of all! He is the GOAT!"

But this kid, I don't know if she like or hate the wall anymore. You should just chose one side you know!

"I guess he's a really great person if even Ms Freya praises him."

"Right?"

I am disappointed that they are failing to realize this golden opportunity though.

"That is disappointing indeed.."

"Hey! Stop ignoring me already..."

"Bergens are just way too proud of themselves, all to more it's cavalry. Instead of thinking outside the box on how to fight while not relying on cavalry when they lost on the Seige of the Orcress, they just think of not fighting on seige at all."

Somehow, I could feel the disappointment on Ms. Freya.

I was just joking on my part to annoy the parasite on my back but it seems that Ms. Freya is really disappointed. Anyway.

What's the Seige of Orcress?

"Ohh, The Seige of Orcress was a seige on the Orc fortress at the other end of this forest. It seems that the Orcs also have the same thoughts as the Duke so they also built their own fortress at the other end."

And they call my naming sense bad when they literally name a battle by combing Orc with fortress?

"We lost on that battle though since the Orc was more stronger than us in the first place and they deemed that it's just useless to attack without the use of the cavalry and left."

It would indeed will be hard to win seige battle against a more stronger army. It's already like trying to win a gunfight with just swords.

But wait..

But Ms. Freya, can't they just use the cavalry while defending Jorvik?

"Of course they can be used, but only for scouting and relaying of information though."

I mean besides that.

"Really? How will you use the cavalry in a seige then Mr. Juan."

"Hey!"

I'm not really good in strategy or anything but wouldn't it be a good time to raid their fort while they are busy conducting a seige. After all, they would have to leave it if they would attack. Since the night forest also could be used as a cover I'm sure this could be a good opportunity.

"Hmmmm... That is indeed a good plan Mr. Juan. This strategy could satisfy both sides of being able to fight inside the walls and being able to utilize the cavalry of the Bergen too. I'm amazed you could think of this strategy Mr. Juan."

No not really. I mean, they could have just raid their supply lines using the cavalry but I guess the proud Bergenians wouldn't be able to take that.

What I'm actually amazed is how the Duke of Bergen was able to convince his army to hide their cavalry in the battle of the night forest.

I actually heard the story from Alruna herself when we were in the forest, that's why I knew about the battle.

"Well... for that, it was said that the Duke of Bergen wanted to duel the Leader of the Orcs so they have no choice but to hide the cavalry since they can't really talk to the orcs."

Wow! That definitely sounds like a bullshit. The Duke of Bergen must have been a really wise person if he was able to pull that bullshit off. What happened there was something really close to the tactics used battle of Gaugamela.

"Looks like we're finally here."

Ohh! I never noticed!

I am so engaged on what we're talking about that I have forgotten that we even crossed the gate.

I guess this is what they call a friendly talk isn't it? How to say it, it has a nice feeling into it.

Talking about the things that you like. Well for me, I only like this stuff because some novels and animes that I've watched have this things into it.

Also, there was this time when I got interested in battles when I saw Kings and Gene*** on YouTub*

Well, for now I guess. It's time to get my rank...

Wait a moment, now that I remember. I technically beat this kid right? Does that mean I would be on a higher rank? I know that we're both low ranks for now but even Ms. Alva said that this kid is strong and I also think she's strong so if Ms. Freya told them about it, wouldn't I become a higher rank?

It's not really that I don't like it but, I would really like to enjoy my days as an adventurer. Also, it's not like I'm strong like this kid, I only beat her by chance after all. It's not like kipping some rank would be bad but...

"Don't worry Mr. Juan, I will attest for your strength and I won't try to raise your rank if you don't want to."

While I was thinking to myself, it seems that Ms. Freya already read my mind.
