Alruna's Adventure 6

All my thoughts suddenly became blank as another emotion has taken over.

It was nervousness and confusion. The reason for that is the fact that I have no knowledge of what's happening outside. Like while I am inside this building, I could hear sounds of running, marching, and some other type of movement sounds I don't know. Some are close, some are far. It's just filling up my ears!

I was scared because they might suddenly cam here to kill me and confused because even though the sounds keep going, there's no one coming here, but... suddenly, most of the sounds I'm hearing from outside became stale and now it's so quiet that I don't even understand anymore!

What's happening really?

I asked again. Seriously, give me a clue or something.

But well, there is one clue that is for sure, the orcs are busy. If they aren't coming then Isn't this supposed to be my chance to escape? Why am I even being scared right now? If they are busy then this is definitely the best chance to escape.

I will definitely be able to escape from here.

I looked back again at the orc that.. I killed.

My father said that you need to be responsible for what you did and I to said to myself that I will stand to that principle so I cannot lie to myself that I really killed an innocent life. I can only say sorry and hope that your soul might be accepted to Valhalla and nothing more but I'll definitely assure you that your death won't be for naught and I will definitely escape from here.

From his body, I searched and found a key which I used to unlock the doors that is keeping me inside this cell.

After that, I took my belongings that is on a table near and I head to the door to look what's happening outside.

I look back again at the Orc I killed again and decided to put something cover on his corpse.

I'm really sorry for this. This is the only thing I could do for him after all.

Then, I immediately go back at the door to open it. What I see was... just the walls and the camps used by the the Orcs. There were almost no orcs seen, just the orcs manning the walls.

There's not even a patrol inside. I mean of course besides the walls itself.

What's going on?

Ahhhh.. That's not important right now. I still haven't escaped after all. Also, I'm right. This is definitely the best chance to escape.

I looked at my surroundings again and checked if there were orcs and when I made sure that there's none, I headed towards some random places I could hide and look for some exits I could find and of course to exit from there.

Luckily, I found a gate which has no guards guarding it so I used it exit outside. It was quite easier than I thought.

I really thought that I wouldn't be able to escape since one of the main gates is guarded but when I explore the whole fort itself I found out that the other side gate has no guards at all.

Maybe the soldiers have already found out about this orc base and decided to send a a force to attack.

But... I didn't see anything in the guarded gate at all that looks like the Bergens are attacking...

As I exited from the gate, I headed towards the direction of Jorvik and continued to walk forward while making sure that I was not spotted by the Orcs. This time of course, I was more careful than before so I moved slower.

I definitely have to be more careful.

As I continued walking, I saw something really weird.

Currently in my front, I could see a human hidden in the trees, while he is looking at two armies chasing each other.

So there is an attack that came from our side.

What's weird here though is this guy. He was wearing a white coat, like super clean white coat.

This is definitely the first time I saw clothes this clean and this white. It's like as white as snow! I mean, we're quite clean too.. But in terms of clothing, I have to admit defeat.

Wait, I did remember someone looking at me while I was being taken away by those orcs but... nah, that person looks to different. And there's definitely no one who would hide using this almost shining clothes.

Just who is this guy?

Well, I could just ask him aren't I?

When I got next to him, I asked.

Who are you?

But he didn't answer.

What are you doing here?

He didn't answer again. Looks like he was too focused on what's he's watching. So I looked at what he's looking at and see again the two groups on a stalemate of who's going to move first. Well, from their structures. It's obvious who's going to win. It's definitely our soldiers of course. But I'm still curious of who this guy is and what he's doing here.. so I asked again.

"Why are you here?"

This time, he gave me a reaction. Finally.

When he looked at me, no, he look at the direction of mine, but his sight is above me so he didn't actually saw me.

What a rude guy.

But when he looked down, he saw me and instantly jumped and fall backwards.

Hmp! He's really rude, did he really have to react that much.

"Agsgdgsg!?"

What? This is the first time I heard a language like that. What language is that.

I mean, even though I was just a ki... when I was a kid, I already know other languages that our surrounding neighbor speaks. It's part of my education as the princess here after all. But, this guy's language is really different from those from what I learned.

And one more thing, he looks like a foreigner. Yeah, I don't know how to describe it but his face definitely isn't what's normal here.

Maybe he's a traveler like me. A far away foreigner?

That's the only reason I could think off why he's here. This would be really hard if he don't understand me though, I won't even know how to talk to him at all.

What language is he using even?

Maybe he knows what language I'm using since he has gotten here. If he's really a foreigner, then he should atleast learn my language when going to our country right? That's a custom right?

He looks confused of something. Maybe he really didn't know my language at all. Sometimes, he looks like he figured out something, then suddenly, he would get confused again. This guy is really weird.

This is the last time that I'll ask, I also have to warn him that it's dangerous here after all. If he doesn't know then he's quite doomed. He looks weak after all.

"You know my language?"

Ohhh! So he did know my language. But just recently, he really looked like he doesn't understand at all though. Also, his accent is a bit.. super off. But anyway, it's good that I can talk to him.

Just recently, you're speaking in different language and now you're speaking mine? Are you a traveler perhaps?

This guy still has his confused face for some reason. Really... I don't understand what's with this person at all.

But somehow, after talking with him for quite some more, he started to talk normally and his accent somehow became really good.

Maybe he did know our language, and he just didn't use ours that much so he didn't get to practice, but the way he adapted our accent is a big super fast isn't it. Is this guy a genius or something? Or maybe just an introvert? Ehhh... I'll just ask him.

We both watched the fight of the orc and when they finished we head straight inside the forest.

I would indeed want to come with them to go home, I meant on the guest house but.. if Freya found out that I have gone to the Night Forest alone... Yeah, no way I would want that to happen at all..

From what I've learned, this guy doesn't know anything about battle at all, that's normal for a peasant but he also don't know anything about our soldiers too. He really doesn't look like he's from here so there's that. But I mean if he's from here, it's imposible to not know how strong our soldiers are because of how famous our cavalry are on our country. But, if I'm not wrong, our Cavalry should also be famous in the surrounding countries right? Also, hehe. He's quite easy to trick.

Also, I've taken an interest in this Kuya. He really reeks of something out of this country, and I really do want to know more of what's outside Bergen since I only get to hear this from almost no one at all!

For some reason, out of all my misfortune today, he's quite my lucky coin today.

So I'll make sure I'll make this guy talk to make my trip here atleast worth it.

Where is this guy taking me? Is he planning something? Well, not like he can do something to me though. Also, I could easily judge people if they are bad or good and this guy is definitely not those who reeks of badness. Well, he still calls me a kid for some reason even though I told him that I'm already an adult and the princess of this country at that which the only thing I think is rude.

What is with this guy?

While we were walking towards somewhere, I thought that he has some secret base or something but he just brought me to some random place where there's a big wall of rock. Well, there's also this box thing that is in here. Hmmmm... what is that?

I asked kuya of what it is and he said that it is a monolith. I dont even know what that is but it sounds cool for a rock. He also said that it's his job to study this things. Doesn't sound like truth to me though. Who would even pay him this thing even you know. But... If he's like me then maybe it's a dream or hobby maybe? What's his job again? But seriously, what he's saying is really interesting, I mean, what if there's indeed a more advanced civilization that existed here that is more advanced than us, wouldn't that be awesome if we discovered something like that, we can use that to make our country more prosperous.. ehem..

Hmmm now I'm actually understanding what's the deal with his job, it just sound as interesting as being an adventurer!

We talked more about so many things that I actually forgot the important things that we need to do and seriously, this Kuya is really.. easy to trick.. hehe. Well, it's not like I have to hide something from him anyway but it's quite fun doing it to him so I just continued. Maybe this is how Freya felt when she's doing it to me. I admit, it's quite fun.

Also, when we noticed that it's getting late already I really got scared, I mean I'm scared that kuya might get eaten but when he said that he was making a house, I was just shocked.

What is this guy talking about? I mean, he said that he's making a house? Before night? That's so absurd that i can only question his sanity... well, but since I'm already an adult and I'm just scared for him. I'll just give him a chance, anyway if he couldn't really build then we could just hide in the trees after all.

It's not like I want to see the house or anything you know.

Kuya then sent me to go find some food and after I came back from eat.. I mean finding some food I look at kuya looking at some fallen tree.
