Prologue

A Cold snowy forest came to view

though its abit dark the moon shines brightly as if peace is achieved but then the peace was disrupted.

"Damn it!" A man in his late 20s shouted as he ran away from a human shaped shadow. The man then aimed his matchlock towards the shadow.

Bang!!!

A resounding shot from the matchlock brought the shadow down. After seeing that the pursuer has been hit he reloaded his matchlock incase another one appears.

Slowly but surely he walked closer and closer to the body. As he got closer, he saw that the body is a woman is wearing ragged clothes making her look like a peasant or a slave ,she had long black hair and a pale skin, white colored crystals protrude on her left arm and nape because of the darkness her face cannot be seen but still it didnt stopped the man.

"Are you alright?!" The man yelled in panic he then ran to the woman and lay down his weapon. As he was about to carry her the woman hold his arm.

Then the man heard a low growl and with a strong pull he was pulled to the ground. Screaming he pleaded for her to stop but the woman didnt respond as if she didnt hear him. Instead of pleading to stop he yelled for help, as the woman continued to devour him.

The man screamed of the pain, screaming turned to crying until it stops. The only sound left is flesh being chewed upon. The white crystals that protrude on woman's body started to turn red as a new crystal protrude on its chest, slowly it's fingers grow as it resembled claws then it opened its bloodied mouth and started screaming as if howling towards the sky.

Then the bushes started to brush startling 'it'. It then move closer on the bushes as it was about to slash the bush with it's claw a claymore went through its head and was slowly moved downwards. Then a woman with Dark brown hair and bright yellow eyes appeared from the bush she is wearing a leather armour with a chest plate,a metal bracers on both of her arms, and a thick fur cape.

"He didnt make it." She said frustration coating her voice. She then took the red crystal on the monster's chest.

"Commander Faran. We found a small settlement." a man with a knight armour stopped beside her. He has a big war hammer on his back and a Shield.

"Condition?" The man shakes his head.

"A lost then this woman probably ate most people" She said as she pointed at the woman-shaped monster then looked at the body of the man.

"Cut of his head and put it on the casket!" She ordered the other.

"Yes Commander Faran!!" Her men replied as they get to move. One of her men went to the man's body and turned the man's head straight then he closed the man's eyes as he draws his sword.

"Men take the valuables of the settlement be aware of your surroundings there might be some hidden enemies around you." She commanded her men as they move without hesitation.

"Commander Faran i'm done with your order." The man that was ordered to take the head spoke and kneeled.

"You've done well." She said as she pat his shoulder guard.

"Thank you." The man stood up as he held the man's casket. After a few hours of searching the platoon found Some Matchlock firearms some gunpowders, iron balls, foods, and seeds and some tools for farming.

"We are done now let us return!" She yelled as her men got ready to leave.

'Im finally going home after 2 weeks of scavenging and scout the area!!' The commander thought excitedly.

'Elzer, Bennet!! Sis is going back!' She continued her thought. After storing the newly found goods on the carriages they have they then sat on their horse as they rode back to where they came from.

"Day by day theyre slowly getting stronger." She whispered but was still heard by those near her.

"And here we are scared and weak. I wonder when change will come." She said as the others thought of what she said.

"Thinking about that made my mood worse" She whispered to herself with a sigh they then rode on the snowy dirt path.

"Commander! the rear is being attacked by the deformed!!" A man in armour

"There is atleast 7 Red Variants there!! How are they losing?!!?" She shouted at the messenger.

"There are 2 Orange Deformed bears! and at least 15 deformed wolves!!!" The messenger answered.

"Sir Kinston go to the rear and help defend against the wolves, I'll take care of the bears." She said as her horse turned followed by the man in knight armour named Kinston. As they rushed to the rear another pair started following them.

"Commander Faran we'll also help!!" A female with long blonde hair and blue eyes in a knight armor followed behind them.

"I'll help too!" the man next to her has the armor on an Samurai and two Tachi sword on his waist he has a spiky black hair and black eyes

"Dont!! Captain Milla and Captain Henzo you'll be leading the group back to the Haven then wait for us there!!" She ordered them.

"But-" Henzo was about to speak but Milla pulled him away.

"Come on!" Milla shouted at him as she let go and rode to the front.

"Damn it!!" Henzo reluctantly followed.

"Are you sure that its ok to do that?" Kinston asked.

"They are our best captains so i believe in them." She answered as she focused in front of her. After a few minutes of riding they finally arrive at the rear. There they saw 2 giant bear with orange crystals protruding on its back and a circle orange crystal on its chest pushing some people back. Then a pack of wolves ranging from black, brown, white that has a white or red colored crystal on its body holding off another group

"Sir Kinston!" "Aye!!" With an affirmation Kinston draw his shield and war hammer. "Come at me!!" With loud shout he drew the attention of the wolves to himself. On the other hand Commander Faran is engaging against 2 orange deformed. One of the bear swung its paws towards her. She blocked it with her claymore and countered by slashing the paw off and thrusting her claymore on its chest. The claymore went through the bear and went deep in the ground making it hard to pull out, seeing the opportunity the bear rushed to slice her in half but then with a flip she drew her flintlock.

"Take this!!" With a resounding bang of the weapon the bear fell.

"How do you like the invention of my father!? Huh?" She shouted at the corpses as she takes the crystals. She then heard the voice of Sir Kinston.

" Kaianne!! Are you alright?!" He asked with panic.

"I'm fine! I'm fine!" She answered him care freely as he sigh in relief.

"Thank goodness."

"Why are you so worried anyways?"

"Wagner might kill me if he see you injured or worse dead, that is why I must protect you at all cause. You're the future of our Shelter."

After hearing his answer her face turned serious.

"Casualties?"

"None only injured."

"Good. Lets put the injured on the carriage that was left behind then lets go and meet the others on Haven." Kaianne ordered.

"Yes ma'am!!" After acknowledging her order everyone got to work and started to move fast towards Haven. The Heavy trees of the forest disappeared and what greeted them is an open field. a large plains without any vegetation. Then they saw it "Haven" Kaianne voiced out. A large dark wall encompassing the river and an gigantic iron gate then they saw people above the wall.

"We've returned!!!!" Kaianne shouted as the gate started creaking revealing the inside of the wall.
