Elisabeth's point of view:
I tried to hurry myself over him to free him out, but my hand passed through him as if I was a ghost by his side.
I breathed in and out as a sign of relief, then I told myself, "It's just a dream…"
Unexpectedly, Agatha's voice cut me off "It's not just a dream…" My blood started running cold as she was speaking.
"Your mate is here, in front of you… He's here that way, only because of you."
Silence consumed us all, but not until Agatha spoke again.
"He wanted to save you no matter what it cost … It seemed that - the cold heart of the future Lycan's alpha king - is not cold after all, it seemed that his heart was warm for you, isn't it lovely?"
At this point, I wasn't able to think or register anything from what's going on next to me. I was brooking, lost, and way too hurt… Not physically, but emotionally.
All these times I was trying to hurt him, take revenge on him, make him lose all and everything he desired.
Yet, he's here because of me and for me. He's giving on his life, only for me…
I got to do something, I need to get him out of here no matter what, and even if it cost me my life to lose.
Lost in my thoughts, I was till Agatha spoke again." You need to save him, don't you think? You have to get him out of here."
Again, I did not utter a word, I know for sure that she is not someone to trust - since she's the one who wants my death the most.
And yet, she's got a point. I don't know what she's thinking about, so I'll do better by keeping my mouth shut for now.
"Last I do remember, you weren't the type of person to close their mouth." She tried to tease me with one of the lamest jokes ever. " Has the cat eaten your tongue?" She said while laughing.
"I do understand that you have to kill me … Not that you want to… anyway!" I told her, "Can you at least while trying to kill me, can you please do it without joking that way? I mean, a joke like this is way too much for me to take, I can't handle another one."
Now it seemed that she had lost all sort of happiness she was having a while ago, she was looking now, way too serious than before.
"There is only one way to save your mate, turn yourself and Evanora to us before that the blood moon shows itself – meaning tomorrow. Or else, both of your mate and brother will die before the sun rises."
As she was done speaking, a blinding light attacked my face. Before I realized what was wrong, I found myself awake, and so for Evanora.
We took a moment to realize what had happened before Evanora brooked the silence.
"What shall we do?" She asked," They're going to kill us if we go back. But if we don't, they're going to kill our mates."
I kept on quiet for a while, since I did not know what to say, but I ended up talking after all.
"We need to fight for both our lives and our mates' lives. But we can't do it since we are only two." I posed for a while thinking about the whole situation. I mean, it's true that I am the Hybrid, and she's a witch. But I don't know everything about my powers, and I don't know how to use them yet. On the other hand, Evanora was young too, and her powers were still hidden too.
Not to mention that we won't be facing ten or twenty witches, it's more than one hundred, and it's all going to happen in their field.
Then someone's name jumped on my brain," Elijah… Elijah would help us… He has always done." I told her, without thinking. He's someone I do trust with my own life - Little I knew about what was waiting for me.
As I told Elijah about what happened to us, his mood changed immediately. From the wise friend I'm having, he became someone who's only a short fuse.
"Let her go…" He told me while talking about Evanora. "They won't kill her if you're not with her at the altar. That way, we can save your bother, and both of you."
Everything seemed fine, only for the fact that says 'Liam is missing out of Elijah's plan.'
Somehow I do believe that he did it on purpose, yet I felt that I needed to ask before judging his intentions. I mean, I'm not the type who judges books from covers.
"How about my mate, Liam? What will happen to him? How are we going to get him out of there?"
"We won't." He simply said.
"What do you mean by that?" I could see where he was going with all his nonsense. Yet, I'm still wanting him to change his mind, that's why I kept on acting like a dump. But nothing from what I hoped came to be true.
"The mission said to keep you safe, and you are safe. Now we're all going to get back to the vampires' palace … Immediately!"
I was out of handles now, all feelings were mixed inside of me. I felt betrayed by the one I trusted the most.
"Fine! You don't want to help … Don't. But don't expect me to follow your lead."
"He's a killer." He shouts at me. "A cold blood murderous, his death would be a blessing to us all."
Now I was feeling real anger as if my fuse were blown up. In no time after he shouted, I found myself shouting back after him.
"Killer or not, he's my mate. The one destined for me, and I won't let him die no matter what. He's there because of me, to save me…" I was interrupted by him while he was still shouting. "I was there for you too, I was there to save you too…"
"Yes, I know - and I'm so grateful for that," I explained to him. "But you're fine, and he's not. He's going to die, and I won't let that happen." I told him, while my voice was steady, and I was shouting no more.
Silence consumed the room before he moved toward the room's door. He opened it, then said. "If you want to go… then go. But once you pass through this door, you're not one of us – no more."
Without thinking, I stepped out of the room. And before leaving his sight, I turned and faced him for one last time. "I knew I was never one of you, the moment you turned your back on me and refused to help me. If it's our last time seeing each other, then I want you to know that I'll always remember you, and I want you to have a long happy life." Then I used my super speed to vanish from his sight.
I went directly to the room where I left Evanora, and then I informed her with a brooking heart that we're on this alone.
I told her about all the risks we were taking by going there, I told her that we may lose our lives over there - In case she decided to run for her life, I told her that I'm ready to go there on my own.
Surprisingly, she insisted on coming with me. She told me that we're on this both, and we'll both get this out alive.
Well, that's not all. She told me that she had a plan, and someone is joining us at this plan.
"The witches won't respect their promise, they will kill our mate's right after they kill us." She told me." Still, we'll have to surrender ourselves."
"Wait… you've just said that they won't respect their promise. Yet, you're asking us to surround ourselves." Asked her, since it all doesn't make sense to me.
"Just wait, and I'll explain everything to you…" That was all she said before she started explaining…
After she was done, it all started to make sense to me. This girl has a brain right out of hell, and I love that about her. I can't wait to free my brother so that he can get to know his beautiful strong mate.
As it was morning, everything was already. All we've had to do was to get into New Orleans, which was hours away from the house we're staying at for a normal human – But not for me, I took Evanora bay hand and moved us both while using my super speed.
In no time we were there in New Orleans, exactly The French Quarter. As expected, Agatha was waiting for us both - and she was surrendered by witches.
"We're here…" I told her, "As we promised to be. Now ... set our mates free."
As for what Evanora said, Agatha was not planning to commit to her promise. With a mean smile on her face, she told us. «You're in no oppression to make decisions. Bring them into the cell, and get them both ready for tonight's ceremony."
She said while smiling like holding the world, little she knows about what we're having for her tonight.
