Lunch Date

Lena and Audrey had already been talking for a while now, but when Audrey looked over at the clock, she realized it had been five full hours. Lena stood up and held out her hand, it was thin and bony, but still pretty and dainty. "Care to grab lunch with me?" Audrey took it and nodded. They walked hand in hand, smiling, to the cafeteria and got sandwiches. They ate together and talked some more until Bryer came and told Audrey that she needed to come sign some paperwork. Audrey's face sunk and she slid out of her chair somberly and Lena asked what was wrong, and that's when she spilled everything. She told her about being sick and what the doctors said about how much time she had left. Lena stood up and hugged Audrey. "Audrey. I'm dying too. And neither of us will be alive to remember this in two days, I think you're cute. Wanna date for a day?" Audrey stared at Lena in astonishment for a moment before smiling and nodding. The two said their goodbyes and Audrey went to sign her papers, leaving the two of them feeling excited for their last day instead of terrified.
