Old Friends Renewed

Amanda's frown deepened. Where did this girl come from, and what gave her the right to meddle in her affairs?

Despite tear streaks on her face, Amanda responded icily, "This is your proposal, so don't try to shift the blame onto others."

"Others?" Sara scoffed. "Do you consider him one of 'others'?"

Amanda found Sara's behavior absurd and retorted, "What's your angle? Spit it out."

"My angle?" Sara snorted again, then lifted her chin defiantly, surprising everyone by taking hold of Allan Batman's arm and leaning against his shoulder. She declared proudly, "I like him and I want to court him!"

A palpable silence settled over the entire house, each person wearing an expression of disbelief.

Almost simultaneously, they all exclaimed, "The what?!"

Unfazed by their reaction, Sara maintained her haughty posture, turning to Allan and asking, "You're the hacker, BatMAN, right?"
