"No one is here…." A bothered voice sighed as it echoed throughout an empty room with barely lit candles and lamps. Squatting on the ground as it squeezed onto a rucksack, the figure rested as it worried itself for the answer it wishes for ever more. "Did I do something wrong…?"
As the sounds of birds tweeting could be heard from outside, the everpearlescant array of colours strum around like a prism echoing from the sun rays onto the very pavement in-front of the building she was in. Originally supposed to be resembling a tower of sorts, similar to hyperscapes of skyscrapers from the ruined magazines she read given by her teacher, but rather than a full representation, it was only outside that gave its beautiful resemblance.
Inside however, were bare metal bars bestrewn with bare ramblings of objects similar to scrap and simple makeshift furniture made from spare parts or antimatter of the brain's thought, the power reflected from the figure's ability.
"No, what did I do wrong? I cannot even contact my guardian. Where are you!?" The figure cried out as her yellowish cape refracted the light that was beamed onto her. A gal only named as Mary, a villager, a soldier of arms and a trifler, self taught and given precision by her elders, her mother and her adoptive father, her teacher, NZ. Otherwise now known as William Endicrite, a man of history who dared tell the tales of his past and the ever doom that inevitably happened. But now, dissipated from her grasp when she needs help most.
"What was her name? I can't remember. Dear God of Gloom, this is pathetic, help where I am, if you can see or hear me, I beg thee for a miracle, as I am a servant upon my flesh and bones that you ever formed from the waters and sands of the earth."
Praying to her deity, she clutched herself closely not in fear, but rather patience and a believe of ones own probable desire to be known.
Her handgun by her hip glowed softly a whitish beige. Not that bright to be seen by the human eyes, but was enough to give off some sense of being watched. Was it her miracle? No, net yet, just barely. The deity she prayed was none other than her guardian who was also lost in her own realm. Even-though, they basked both in the lights after saving each other from the efforts to make sure humanity does the right choices, what now they get is only but a thin strip of tape that can snap if pulled ever so slightly harder.
("I can't give up.") She whispers to herself. ("I did this, I promised everyone. This was not only for me, this was for everyone that I seen through my journey. The struggles they go through just to make sure they can get at-least a drop of water or an ounce of food.")
Holding over the few drops of hopes she has within her heart, the tears just dripped off her cheeks were wiped with single sash of cloth as she slowly pushes herself up to a stand. "This is a test, it must be." She says to herself as she brings herself a brave face.
"I have to keep pushing forward...I made this place, so I have to make sure it runs right towards the end. What I am doing now, is playing god, whoever or whatever that is. Maybe, just maybe, they are here, somewhere, anywhere, maybe elsewhere. I just have to keep searching in this infinite place. I know of it, I wasn't born on a silver spoon, I am a fighter with years of experience, this just a fickle test wanting to be accomplished, like the mountain I climbed to reach my favourite resting spot or my instincts for survival when that corrupted element tried to get me during my weakest point. That wasn't a coincidence. This was all pre-planned for me."
"I will not let the dice roll odds, I am even and I make my decisions. I am a full-fledged adult. I shall take all responsibility of my actions."
As the girl strides in her newly found strength known as pride, she follows the pathway to her future as she follows the rocky pathways that she imagined from her earlier decisions. What may come is just the beginning of an end, as all times meet.
But meanwhile, as time was progressively becoming dissolute, the many people affected by the strange powers of the godlike abilities of the so-called deity of the Walther Clan, was not something easy to just use and forget. They were all stuck in a limbo, either in a good or bad way. Similar to a kaleidoscope that spins strange patterns after looking through its small and dark eyehole of a pipe to be seen through.
This was no more about Hope nor Peace, nor understanding of Genders or Races or even Species. This was something of a higher matter. A matter no mortal being could conclude an answer. A layman's term could be considered as a Fourth Dimension of sorts, where time and matter is being modified and changed at will by some unknown higher up being. But with all thanks to this slight invisible beings known as Guardians, this could potentially not even be an alien race, but rather something humans cooped up during an old age or civilisation, that was millennia away that even modern citizens of this post apocalypse could understand such a simple matter of fact.
This is not a war of two things any-more. It is not war in the first place. It's all just a game of snakes and ladders. What you get is what you do. Movements, Choices and Ageing, it's all part of the process. What happens now is The Happening. Yes, the confusing thing that caused all hell to let loose. The term itself reflects all definitions of the current motions of the earth and its breathing and living organisms.
Such is the journey of life isn't it? You, the one reading this bunch of scribbles and words. I bet you are wondering, why has this story been turned upside down and inside up. Well, simple really. Time is but of an essence. Multiple timelines, multiple choices. The so called characters in books and motion pictures that happened because of it. Have you ever thought, maybe it all happened actually in another place, a place mirror-like to ours yet adapted to its own surroundings of yonder time.
Well, I am the hostess and I welcome you to my archive. I would be glad to explain to you, the truths of The Happening. What actually happened and why this figment of a memory here, these man named William carries such a high levelled name to be who he is and what he done to reach to the top without being born in any higher levels of society. It all just started, just right after here…
…
"Father? Mother? Wait, I don't understand your meaning." the boy replies to the person named as Legacius as it watched him with a smile of confidence and suave. As beautiful as the hair and the face that ran down off this person, the aura itself of the person extruded such an attractive colour, Wolfe was starting to blush a cherry red. "Are you saying, you were the one that produced me and my sisters, you yourself? Out of like in thy?"
The figure chuckles as it licks its lip in a kind and patient manner, the figure stands on its two feet as it then summons and a chair and sits on it. Summoning a table and following copy of the chair, Legacius guides the boy with its hand to take a seat. "Take a seat, I will explain to you everything, my boy. I know it is confusing, but what I said is true."
"Okay, mister...miss? How do I refer to you as?" The boy asks as he slowly rests himself onto the wooden ornamented chair that was lacquered with a strange dry liquid and puffed with some sewn fur of an unknown animal. "And where are me sisters?!"
"Call me miss, it feels better to be called in a more feminine way, just consider my actions more masculine, but after all, my figure does somewhat resemble a woman, do I?"
Inspecting the figure up and slowly down, the boy got curiously excited as he notices the very similarities of the body of a woman would have, other than the style of the hair and the very clothing the figure donned which was more akin to a male aristocrat of that era, only recommended to be sewn by professionals and only served to those with high regard of education and coin.
"Haha, I can see your wavering eyes looking throughout me. How perverse." Teasing the poor boy, it(or rather, she) acted very similar to his older sister Valour if she was more kind and friendly rather than cocky and such a bully.
"I am sorry Miss Legacius. I didn't know..." Shushed by the whisper of a voice through his ear, Legacius winks at him and crosses her legs as she sat and summoned herself a glass of wine. Sipping it, she then makes it dispensary and starts to explain his questions. One by one.
"I know you might be thinking, who is Legacius, why did it call itself my parent of birth and et cetera...How do I know your language and have the very same accent of your mysterious kind. Well, I will explain it thoroughly, just please, concentrate."
Clearing her throat, she makes an adjustment of her spacious infinite room as a big pane of glass appears behind her. Scaring the poor child, she ensures that the thing she summoned is not dangerous but more rather a magical item of sorts which will help him understand.
"You heard of the Altmers, right? The elders that your sister learns her conjuration from. The word is actually similar to a dialect such as ours. Me and you and your sisters, I mean."
"The word Altmers, means Elders. Other than that, our species are called Halen or in your village language term, "Guardians". You are actually not a human, you are not made of flesh and bones similar to your home beings but rather you have an infinite choices of appearance. You haven't learnt about it yet, but manipulating the elements is only the first step to understanding your true potential."
"Wait, do you mean that the Altmers are the same as us, whoever we are?" The boy asked as he relaxes and comforts himself with his bushy rucksack. "So basically, they can harness magic like Sister Stella can?"
"Ah, no. The Altmers are taught by our species to harness the magic. They just do so quietly, to not harm and or inflict fear to the humans. They are like half of us, yet also half human, as what it is easier for them to mean thy."
"Dost then, why can't I use magic like my sisters? Well, most of them, that is. Willow and Wisp is unknown to this strange gifts we hone."
Chinning herself with her pure white satin glove, the feminine figure thought hard in her head as she whispered unintelligible grumbles with her tittering lips. "They probably just don't have the ability to, perhaps it is due to their age or well, they have a different way to awaken it."
"Ey? So that means, there are different types of this gifts?" The boy asks curiously. "Other dost, where are they, you summon this glass but I only see white, nothing. Only my reflection like a still mirror."
Nodding her head, Legacius flicks her finger with a quick snap as a spark of yellow ambers sizzled through her palms before splattering the pane of glass with colours and a scene of his sisters in a room similar to where he is but rather in another place, odd, it's like another world, the boy thought as he feels the works of the alchemy in its strangest yet most powerful form when harnessed properly.
"Thost they are? Can they hear me? Hello!" He tries to call them as he gets up and waves his hand a greeting.
"No, they can't. I know you are worried about them. But don't, they are good and fine. Just like you, they too are trying to understand where they are."
"Come to think of it, Thou dost know where we are now?" The figure asks as she raises from her seat and raises her summoned glass of wine once more. Holding it elegantly, she wisps through with a flutter of amber yellow dust before appearing behind the curious boy. Sipping her wine with one hand, she indulges the boy with a proper greeting off hospitality : A shoulder massage to relax the boys ever stiff shoulders from his days of sword training.
"I, Legacius, will help you find your true purpose of your reason in this place, humans and Halen alike. Afterall, as a parent, it is my job to guide the children to their true purpose of prosperity."
The boy slightly amused by the act that the feminine figure gave out, like a carnival, no, more like a theatre act was one to entice the watcher to know more of this person's actions. Wishing to know more about his so called species' reasoning of existence in this land, it was only fair to learn. To learn not only as a student, but also as a master. A master of ones own body and soul.
"Well, I be. Madam, show me my sisters actions, whatever it may be. Let me see if they are capable of becoming women of the next era. Warriors or even better, heroes."
"If that is your wish boy, I shall grant it."
"But here's a twist…." The figure closely leans onto the boy's ears and seductively puffs her breath onto his sensitive earlobe. "They are not the only ones in this test… many tried, many failed…. But also many passed."
"Will they be living for another era or will they be scrawling notes of pain onto their frigid nails. That's set course in this universe, you so call home. A home filled with weaklings that shall need protection from the many dangers that are due to come."
"Will you be able to suffice a generation of next of kin brimming with strength and hope or will you prefer dreaming your way till the humans kill themselves off without us, either way… It is your dice."
"Your roll."
Brainwashed by the way of words of this silhouette of a so called seductress, the boy nods slowly as he raises his palm towards the screen. Following his instincts, he makes a musical wipe of his fingers as if composing an orchestra to reach upon his actors and his spectators. The actors being the very puppets of his own sisters, lined by string, unknowingly being given orders without realising they are being moved by someone else's choices.
The amber that slowly burns in the room. The spark that the boys eyes reflects as an aura of orange and red colours conjure about from the lingering sweat around his skin curdled as tears of blood drips out from his lids of seeing. Even as far as he was from being his usual self, in his heart, he still wishes to be independent as his sisters can hold the strength of a hundred man for themselves in their near future. Not only for self preferences, but rather a table. A table filled with the brim of otherworldly knowledge and new creations of the world. He calls it in his own very tongue.
"Biokarne." or for the pitiful humans, he wished could stop disturbing his family every so often. He gave them a choice, to be alongside his side or falter, cut tongues and gore, in a matter of no time. Man-made yet criminal, dangerous yet powerful, handheld but monstrous, "Biological Weapon."
The very first, conjured from his very hands, a pair of gloves, soft like leather, fluffy like a rascal's. A mere sudden move is enough for it to cause a destruction seen never before from the human eyes. A summoning of orange liquid, exactly like amber, taken to many forms, unlimited to the naked eyes and the knowledge held by a feeble person.
A gift he hands to his first love, a human, years from current times. A women he blessed to stay forever by his side, but failed, only to feel saddened, betrayed and abandoned. A corruption in his heart, turned the many ways of his actions into a maniacal one.
Seperated from his siblings due to inevitable jobs of an adult, he lurks in the darkness of an old abandoned chicken coop of a farm as his many kins he planted into the seeds of others spreaded throughout history. Gaining power too much for himself, he prayed to the mountains and striked a light, a beam towards the very star he named after his Wife, ascended, he stays there, Lianna.
Dear darling, whatever I caused in this very painful years. Millenia, even. I have no control to what happens anymore. I have become an abomination, a black "thing" that changes the heart of men. I call thee, with the gift I bestowed to you, "Windhearth", my hunting gloves, use it. Use it to change time, Stop Legacius. Stop Bio.
Please, to our next of kins and their very future generations, make them immune to the corruption, before whatever happens. Let their intellect guide them, that is all.
With a flick of a scabbard and the dripping of quiet screams of pain, the liquid that drips, disperses into an unfathomable element as it dissipates from the burning orb that will last as long as it burns its very own energy. Fueled by the blood of Wolfe, this star will hold the very last essence of humanity's hope.
