Time to move the settlement

Ignoring the shocked mutterings of Torin and Elenion, Arthur focused intently on the translucent structure that had begun to form before him. As he concentrated, another smaller window popped up in his vision, the details floating in the air like a message from another world. Inside the window, the information was neatly laid out:

[Building Name: Shack, Level 1

Required Materials: 10 Wood Logs, 5 Cloth

Worker: Builder]

Arthur couldn't help but let out a chuckle, both amused and slightly shocked by the familiarity of it all.

"Well, fuck me, this is just like those city-building games I used to play on my mobile to kill time when I was sick and weak back on Earth," he mused aloud, his tone a mix of nostalgia and disbelief.

Still grappling with what he'd just witnessed, Torin spluttered, "By me beard, what sorcery is this? Ye just summon buildings out of thin air now?"

Elenion, though equally astounded, managed a more measured response, though his voice still carried an edge of incredulity.

"This... this is beyond any magic I've known. How is such a thing possible?"

Though tempted to dive into explanations about the system and its capabilities, Arthur remembered his resolve to keep the true nature of his abilities a secret. Instead, he simply shrugged, a mischievous grin on his face.

"Let's just say I've got a few tricks up my sleeve. Now, let's gather those materials and get to work. We've got a shack to build."

Suddenly, Elenion turned to Arthur, a curious intensity in his gaze. "Are you a descendant of a Great Mage?" he inquired, his question hanging in the air like a delicate thread of possibility.

Arthur, taken aback by the sudden query, chose to remain silent, letting the elf piece together his own narrative. It was better for them to believe whatever made sense to them, to accept his abilities without delving too deep.

"Must be, mustn't it? The lad brews potions and summons buildings from the ether. How else do ye explain it?" Torin chimed in, his voice carrying a note of conviction.

Sensing an opportunity to steer their perceptions, yet wanting to maintain some semblance of mystery, Arthur nudged the conversation forward.

"You really think so?" he asked, his tone laced with a mix of curiosity and amusement.

"I have heard tales... There are still some, believed to be descendants of the great mages, with magic coursing through their veins. My grandfather once mentioned meeting such a person, but I never imagined I'd encounter another. And you... you seem far more powerful than the one in my grandfather's stories, who could only summon a few fireballs." Elenion nodded

Arthur listened intently, absorbing the elf's words. This unexpected turn of events presented a convenient narrative for him to adopt. If they believed him to be some kind of mage descendant, it would simplify many things and deflect further inquiries into his abilities. For now, playing the part of a mysterious figure with arcane powers seemed the best course of action.

"Alright, you got me. I am indeed a descendant of a Great Mage, and I've been using these powers to help folks, just like I said earlier," Arthur let out a heavy sigh, playing into the narrative that Elenion had unwittingly spun for him.

Elenion and Torin immediately recognized the gravity of keeping Arthur's supposed lineage a secret.

"We must keep this knowledge within the settlement," Elenion urged, his voice low and serious.

"The outside world must never know."

"Aye, if those scavengers or any other damned souls learn of this, we'll all be in a world of trouble, especially Arthur," Torin added, his accent thickening with concern.

"We can't let that happen."

"Right, we'll keep this under wraps," Arthur nodded in agreement while inwardly smiling at the opportunity this misunderstanding provided.

"But soon, I'll be looking into some offensive spells, ready to fuck up anyone who threatens me," he thought to himself, anticipating the expansion of his capabilities.

Turning their attention back to the task at hand, Torin, intrigued by the blueprint before them, asked,

"So, how does this thing work? What do we need?"

Arthur listed the materials as if he were recalling them from memory, careful not to mention the system directly.

"We need ten wood logs, five cloths... that's about it for the basics," he explained.

Motivated to see the process in action, Torin looked around as though he was searching for something.

"I've got a log stashed away somewhere," he said and hurried off to retrieve it. After a few moments, he returned, heaving a wooden log matching the size required by the blueprint.

"Let me help you with that," Elenion, eager to assist, attempted to place the wood onto the blueprint, only for it to fall through the translucent image.

"Hold on," Arthur interjected, remembering the system's additional requirement for a worker with a builder trait. As he pondered over who could fulfill this role, a sharp pain suddenly shot through his head. When he glanced at Torin, another window popped up in his vision.

[Name: Torin

Race: Dwarf

Trait: Builder]

Arthur's surprise was evident, but it quickly gave way to understanding. The system was indicating that Torin, with his inherent builder trait, was key to turning the blueprint into reality.

"Alright, Torin, try placing that log in the blueprint, will ya?" Arthur instructed, hiding his anticipation behind a casual demeanor.

With a nod, Torin approached the floating blueprint. Carefully, he positioned the log where the outline indicated. To everyone's surprise, instead of falling through, the log adhered to the outline of the translucent, blue shape and remained suspended in midair.

"By me ancestors' beards..." Torin muttered, his eyes wide with astonishment. He stepped back, staring in disbelief at the log floating before him.

Elenion, equally stunned, couldn't hide his fascination. "This... this is unlike any magic I've known," he said, his voice a mix of shock and wonder.

Arthur, though initially taken aback by the sight, quickly regained his composure. "See? With this 'magic,' we can build a settlement anywhere," he declared, a confident smirk crossing his face.

Caught up in the excitement of the moment, Torin turned to Elenion with a broad grin.

"Looks like movin' to a new spot's more than just a fancy now. It's bloody doable!" he exclaimed, his earlier reservations forgotten in the face of this new possibility.

Arthur then brought up a practical concern. "Problem is, we're in a fucking desert when it comes to wood logs around this barren land. Moving near a forest isn't just a good idea; it's the only way we'll survive and thrive. Unless, of course, you fancy being sitting ducks, or pigs to be slaughtered, forever."

His blunt words, though harsh, drove home the necessity of relocating their settlement to a resource-rich area.

After a moment of contemplation, Elenion seemed to come to a resolution.

"Following your lead seems the best course of action. Protecting the settlement is my duty, and if that means moving it, then so be it," he declared, a newfound determination in his voice.

Arthur couldn't help but laugh, a genuine chuckle that echoed slightly in the open space. Clapping the elf on the shoulder, he said.

"You've just made the fucking greatest decision of your life, mate."

Inwardly, Arthur felt a surge of satisfaction; the first step in his grand plan to rebuild this world and carve out the prosperous life he'd been denied on Earth was underway.

Interrupting the moment, Torin gestured towards the still-floating log with a puzzled look.

"And what of this, eh?" he asked, his gaze fixed on the curious sight.

"Hold on a minute," Arthur said, curiosity piqued. He wanted to test the system's functionality further, specifically how dismantling worked. Grasping the wooden log, he pulled with all his might, expecting it to detach from the blueprint. The blueprint shimmered slightly but remained intact, and the log didn't budge.

"Let me try this," Arthur muttered, attempting to reposition the log within the blueprint, mimicking Torin's earlier success. However, without the builder trait, the log simply fell to the ground.

"So, only folks with the builder trait can actually build... makes fucking sense," Arthur concluded, speaking more to himself than to his companions.

With a focused thought, Arthur willed the blueprint to disappear. As it faded away, Torin and Elenion's expressions shifted to shock once again.

"Did ye just... make it vanish?" Torin exclaimed, his voice tinged with awe and a hint of disbelief.

Elenion, equally impressed, added, "Your abilities continue to astonish us."

Seeing no point in dwelling on the matter further, Arthur turned to his companions with a sense of urgency.

"Let's get moving without wasting any more time," he said, his voice firm. The path forward was clear, and there was much to do if they were to secure the future of the settlement.
