021: Confronting The Serial Killer

By the time he arrived at the Huelan Great Forest, Wang Jun found himself amidst the dense foliage of luminescent trees, flowers shone vibrantly in various colors. Even the big tree trunks emanating a faint green hue under the full moon light.

Wang Jun couldn't resist the intrusive thoughts to touch the foliages as he trudged the small path way with a pang of amazement towards this wondrous place. Once again he felt the familiar energy source, dwelled deep into the heart of the forest.

His instinct told him to go there, however, he also felt numerous monstrosities were guarding that energy source for a reason unbeknownst to him. Wang Jun complied, acknowledged the humiliation and the fact that he's still far too weak to venture deeper and challenge them to show who's the strongest.

Wang Jun sighed. "Not yet... even with my current stats, I'll become minced meat if I fight against those spirit beasts!"

Trudging over the terrain under the bright full moon light, Wang Jun had found the scene where the murder took place. To his surprise, since his cultivation stage had reached 9th Stage Body Foundation, he could smell the place was reek of dried semen as he expected.

However, he didn't detect any trace or a scent of the woman anywhere, this made him come to a conclusion: "The victims were forced by her to give their Yang Qi by extracting their semen. "Wei Fei?" Said a woman's voice. She stepped out from the tree's shadow.

"Mei Lan... Why am I not surprised?"

"This place is dangerous, you shouldn't be here." She said in a pretentious voice, as if she's just arrived on the scene.

"I could say the same thing to you.. Miss Serial Killer."

Mei Lan's demeanor changed drastically, her expression turned cold, there's no use hiding it anymore since the young man in front of her had disclosed her true nature right off the bat. This made her determined to kill him albeit she felt a pang of remorse to do so.

"How did you know I am the killer?"

"You may use pungent perfume to allure men into your trap but you can't hide the reeking smell of dried semen all over your body!"

"You insolent bastard!"

Enraged and feeling humiliated by his words, Mei Lan unleashed her ability to manipulate her Yin Qi, turned it into Ice Element, freezing the forest hundreds of meters radius in a matter of seconds, nothing could escape this hellish ice formation. Even several huge trees were turned into a rubble of ice upon contact with Mei Lan's ability.

Wang Jun, however, escaped just in time by using his [Abyss Walk], hiding inside his Sea of Abyss and only came out once her skill duration had ended. He appeared behind her ever so casually and made her stay in place like a deer in front of head lights.

"Where is he?" Mei Lan's gaze darted everywhere to pin point his location.

"Terrific!" Wang Jun applauded. "To think someone with Divine Yin Qi Body Constitution is present before me, I am much honored, Miss Mei Lan."

The young woman jumped away from him to a safe distance. "Where did you learn it—"

Before she could even finish her words, Wang Jun was already on top of her body, clenching her neck tightly. Mei Lan's mouth agape when her lungs begged for fresh air.

She retaliated so hard by mustering every last drop of her strength but to no avail. The young man before her was clearly too powerful, she regretted her action, she could've run away the moment she saw his figure amidst the forest and call it a day.

She thought, even if she begged for her life, the owner of those abysmal eyes wouldn't let her go before her last breath ebb away.

However, Wang Jun loosened his grip slightly, letting her know that he's capable of killing her with just a snap of his finger.

"Don't kill me, please! I'll do anything you asked me to do!" She said in a hoarse voice, horrified.

Wang Jun rolled his eyes, after what she did to those men, she still has the courage to beg for her life. Shameless!

"Originally... I came to this forest to propose to you to become my Dual-Cultivation partner. However, since your demeanor is so... irredeemable. With all due respect, I have to kill you for your loot and rob your precious Yin Qi away."

"Please give me a chance to explain!"

Mei Lan showed her Identity Menu which stated that she only has one life in this game, if she died in the game, she would lose her character forever.

Wang Jun let go of her neck and helped her to stand on her own to her explanation. Thus she explained why she killed many men in the last few weeks, relative to the in game time passage.

Thus, Mei Lan told him how she ended up killing those innocent men.

As soon as she logged into the game, the system gave her quite the predicament. She was awakened as the Princess of Catsith Tribe, a few islands away from the Startup Village. Due to her Divine Yin Qi Body Constitution. Her tribe, which consisted of unique individuals, were constantly hunted by the Dogsith Tribe. They were strong NPCs, both in individual strength and numbers, they were far superior than Catsith Tribe.

Mei Lan had lost her Spirit Stone during the chase, a special stone which contained the Yang Qi essence she needed to balance her Dantian and prevent her from contracting the Qi Deviation Sickness.

With that all had been said, she had to rely on hunting men to extract their Yang Qi Essence. As for why she should have killed them, it was her mercy to end their life swiftly after the absorbing process.

"As you may know, not everyone in the game has a high Soul Aptitude Level, not to mention the ability to do cultivation."

Wang Jun folded both arms across his chest in annoyance, it was so heavy to believe her story.

"If you don't believe me... Look, both my cat ears and my precious pair of tails were cut off by those pesky dogs. Luckily, I was able to get away from their prison a few weeks ago."

Such conundrum made him have a hard time deciding what would become of her fate in this world.
