The Cursed Tome

With now the presence of Kaiserin, The Empress, and the knights, I have to make sure that I don't invoke any of their attention toward me. So what should I do? Stay here until they leave? But I'm tempted to escape right away. If Kaiserin spots me, he most likely will tell the Empress, and then I would have to deal with her, too.

It is wise to stay put until they leave. I went back into the secret passage until they left. If I leave now, I risk myself getting caught.

I went back inside the secret passageway, closing the door behind me and carrying the book.

I was waiting here until the Empress and Kaiserin left, so I might as well read the book.

I read the book's title: Die Ätherische Symphonie der Transzendenz. Weltenschmerz Ver." Weltenschmerz version? So, are there other versions of this book? Did Weltenschmerz, the one I met, write this one? It seems likely since that note addressed to Bertha was in the book.

I open the book and read the first page.

"I am Weltenschmez; I perceive through the veil of suffering beyond the literal meaning of your words. I do not claim any divinity, but the extent of my abilities go beyond anything you have ever seen, which will lead others to view me as godlike."

"I have studied the original novel of "Die Ätherische Symphonie der Transzendenz." I have deemed the book cursed; should you pursue that tome, I cannot provide reassurances regarding your life. Even so, people with a thirst for knowledge may end up in a hole of regretful endeavours. So I, Weltenschmerz, became the first surviving person to read that book. I have written this version for those cognitive seekers."

"May you enjoy this book without fearing for your life."
