Soul Displacement (2)

I was still scanning around for at least some type of weapon, but I was more relaxed than I was before. Instead, I filled my mind with thoughts: how many people were there like us? And curse? Who could have done it?

Before I could think anymore, a woman's voice let out a long sigh. "Your name is So-Jin, right? I'm Die Meisterin, well, formerly. But you can call me Bertha. It's a pleasure to meet you, other than me, is Leon. Leon is someone who worked for the Empress but not anymore. You can trust us."

Can I trust them?

Even so, I can only escape this room by opening the door. It's a small, windowless space devoid of any other exit means. I have no choice but to trust her.

I remove the chair from the door and open it slowly, revealing a woman who looks around to be in her teens and resembles Anton a lot.

"Bertha, can you explain how or why I'm here?' I asked

"We had a tip, that somebody that wasn't a part of this world. Leon recently became a butler at the Von Halhenstine house; we needed to be sure that you were, you know, part of another world. I'm very sorry we had to take you back; we found you unconscious after talking to a man. Did you know who he was?:

Should I tell them? Maybe they know him too.

I sighed once before speaking, "Do you know anyone named Weltenschmerz?"

There was an awkward silence before Bertha spoke again. "Yeah, I know him. Could you refrain from talking to him anymore? He's a threat. He made you unconscious. From now on, trust me."

I nodded, then looked down. "How about Anton? You said you were formerly Die Meisterin; does that mean you are his sister?"

Bertha chuckled slightly before replying, "Yep, he's my younger brother. He's been acting weird for a while. I only gave up the name Die Meisterin so I could work with Leon on his research."

"What research?"

"Soul Displacement. You, my friend, are suffering from that."

I got confused before asking Bertha, "I don't understand; I was told I was suffering from soul Conjuring."

Bertha shook her head in disappointment. "Soul Conjuring, huh? Considering you recognize Die Meisterin, it only means you got a reading from Anton. I need to return to my position before he says anything wrong or anything else."

I got confused before asking, "What is Soul Conjuring then? Is it bad?"

I looked at Bertha in the eyes, looking for an answer through her eyes. "Soul conjuring is when your Soul and another soul are in the same body. The physical body can't handle two souls simultaneously, so the two souls fight for their place in the body."

"And what happens to the original body of the other soul inhabiting the body?"

Bertha shook her head before replying, "Their body will remain unconscious until the original Soul or another inhabits it. It's practically a corpse if that answers your question. Although, if you were suffering from soul conjuring, I can only imagine that your original body is 6ft under."

I was slightly timid before asking one more question: "Sorry to ask, but are you sure I'm suffering from soul displacement and not soul conjuring?"

Bertha nodded before replying, "Yep, how long have you been in my world?"

"Three months."

"Yep, now I'm more than sure. If it were Soul conjuring, you would've been dead the first week you arrived unless you're the winning Soul. There's only one way to find out."
