Lady Elise passed away? This doesn't make sense! Especially if it was the day before her party. I frantically looked at my butler and said, "How did she die?"

The butler closed his eyes and shook his head. "It's excruciating to hear, especially for you, Fräulein."

I was starting to get frustrated. I looked at my butler and began to respond to him: "Tell me. You've already told me she died, so now that we are on the topic, you should tell me why before I find out myself."

My butler began to look convinced, but at the same time, he seemed halfhearted enough to tell me. "Fräulein, her limbs were found detached from her body. They were put in a holy chest in the Holy Sanctuary; the High Priest found such a horrible sight and ordered a thorough investigation."

Holy chest? Limbs dismembered? This is how Liselotte died. However, this only happened because the Holy Church thought some demon possessed her due to her wicked actions. So why is Elise now dead in the same way as how Liselotte died originally? Did someone deem her to be possessed?

If her actions were horrible, I would have probably known by now. No, no, someone murdered her, but how would her remains be found in such a sacred place? Perhaps someone from the High Church murdered her!

Wait stop. I can't get involved in any more situations; I'm already dealing with Kaiserin, escaping, and the Empress. If I add more to my plate, I'll probably stay in this material world. I have to leave this to the authorities.

A bit concerned, I looked at my butler and replied, "I see. I guess my schedule is clear tomorrow."

My butler's attitude took a whole 360, and he smiled and grabbed my hands. "No, no of course not Fräulein! Your father didn't want you to feel bored and alone, so you'll spend time with him tomorrow!"

Spending time with Pavel? I should be focusing on meeting up with Anton, but even so, I suppose it's not bad to talk to Pavel. I should ask about that special dagger that he made me take to the Empress's palace and whatever else he's hiding.

I nodded and smiled back at the butler, replying, "I suppose it'll be nice. It could get me away from thinking about the distressing situations."

The butler finally let go of my hands and then said, "It's getting late, Fräulein. I'm sorry for telling you about these unfortunate events late at night. I just thought that you should know right away, knowing how close you were to Lady Elise."

Liselotte was close to Elise? I can learn more about this tomorrow with Pavel.

I laughed it off and replied, "It's fine. I need to get some rest to process these events. Goodnight!"

"Goodnight, Fräulein."
