Normal day

Swords.

Swords everywhere. Coming down like a rain.

Down in heaven, everyone was facing each other too tired to care about the swords. Half of them were on the verge of death with their guts hanging out from their stomach, stinking of shits and covered with crimson blood.

Swords in the sky were slowly getting closer.

Only one man saw those swords. His eyes were dark and carried the faith in his soul. He grabbed his sword and ignored the flesh wounds on his face.

His body was messed up, beyond repair even the highest light magic wouldn't do anything to him. He knew about his fate and yet he couldn't let the men die in that manner. They needed to face against that man.

Blood oozed from his mouth as he tried to gather energy into his sword.

' I will not let my men die. I will kill those damn monsters. '

He convinced himself and jumped.

[ Secret art: Blossom intent.]

Purple energy flew around his sword and expanded. It covered the entire battlefield. The pressure extruded from his sword made the men quiver in fear.

The fight stopped and they realized the swords in the sky. But they continued to fight.

In this world, there was no such thing as fear. Only murder and war existed in their heart.

The battle roared and the alone man tried to stop all the swords.

He swung.

As he swung his sword, the purple energy was disturbed by some force. His sword broke into pieces.

The swords finally reached the battlefield.

The world was dark and there was no sound in the field. There was no man alive in the field.

The man looked at the field in horror. For the first time, he felt dread inside his soul. This was not how man fought.

It was the work of God.

" You are quite strong. "

The man looked behind and saw a familiar face. His best friend.

The man's face became distorted and made an ugly smile. Finally, he let out a sigh, " So it was you, Keith. "

Keith waved his hands and smiled. The swords around the battlefield gathered around him and merged into one true sword.

The sword then set beside Keith floating around him like a guardian.

" Aren't you surprised? I tried to make this battle a bit longer for your satisfaction. Sorry, I got bored seeing insects fight. " Keith looked across the battlefield with hollow eyes.

The man looked down at his broken body and thought about Keith. " Kill me. "

Keith said bringing a smile to his face. " You are going to die anyway. What is there to rush? "

The man glanced at Keith in anger. His eyes were burning with rage. Even the innate fear was suppressed by his overwhelming rage against Keith.

" I give you the last laugh. You won. You managed to kill my loved one. My family. My unborn child. You took everything from me. " The man paused. " You won, Keith. So please just kill me and end my suffering. "

Keith laughed. His golden hair covered his handsome face. " That is a good choice of words. I am in a good mood so I will kill you with my true sword. "

Keith grabbed the floating sword and placed it on the man's neck. His gold hair flew behind his back and the light around his body made him seem like a Heaven-sent child.

His eyes carried an arrogant. " You are not the chosen one, Reid. You are meant to support my strength. I sincerely thank you from the bottle of my heart. "

Keith lifted his sword and slashed at Reid's neck, beheading him cleanly.

" Ah. "

In the darkroom, a youth screamed. The throbbing pain inside his head was so deep that he thought his brain was pierced by a sharp knife.

It burned as well. He grabbed his head and massaged lightly. Soon the pain was gone.

Reid got up from his bed and headed straight to the window. He opened the window and let the wind enter his room.

He dazed at the window for a few minutes before closing it. He then walked toward the bed and lay down.

His mind was in tumour. He had been seeing this kind of vision for a month. And all of the vision was different. Sometimes, he was in the strange cave facing the dragon.

Sometimes, he was floating in space or he was leading a war. It always ended with him drying alone with the burden weighing on him.

He had already seen the family doctor but nothing was going on inside his body.

" At this rate, this is going to affect my mental strength. I need to learn a new technique as well. " Reid sighed and tried to go back to sleep.

But every time he closed his eyes, countless scenes of him drying emerged in his mind.

Time passed and he heard a soft knock from his door.

" Young master. It's time for your training. "

Reid got up from the bed and spoke. " I will here, Georgia. "

He walked over the door and pushed it open. In front of the door was a man in a black suit with a white towel on his shoulder. Think white hair showed that the butler had passed his prime.

Butler Georgia bent his body and paid respect to Reid. He didn't look into his eyes but said in a kind tone. " I will prepare a warm bath for you when you return. "

Reid nodded. He walked in the direction of the training hall. Even though the mansion was huge, his father had prepared a perfect place for Reid.

He only needed to walk the hallway before turning to the left. He then opened the large wooden door.

What greeted him was the same old familiar place. The floor was made of mana stone and it could withstand the strength of peak Rank 5. That was the reason, the training hall could be inside the mansion.

He walked over to the wall and his touch caused the wall to disappear, revealing a set of many weapons.

He grabbed his wooden sword and started to practice slashing.

Reid's mindlessly slashed his sword in the air. He tried to sense mana but it failed every time.

' I am not like those geniuses from the royal family. '

Reid had to remind himself about his origin. His family was only the Duke because of their wealth and connection.

After an hour, Reid dropped his sword and sat on the cold floor. The sweat on his forehead dripped onto his clothes.

He grabbed his head in annoyance.

" Stupid dream. " He cursed himself.

That dream had been hanging onto him.

' I need to pull myself. Otherwise, I won't be in the academy. '

He sighed and looked at the ceiling.

He reached to the bathroom and took a warm bath. Then the Butler guided him to the dining room.

Butler stayed outside the door and said, " I wish you enjoy a breakfast. "

Reid made a bitter smile, " I will try. "

The door opened and Reid walked past the Bulter into the dining room.

His father, the current head of the Dover family, Troyn sat in the middle. Next to him was his mother, Fori as well as his younger sister.

They looked at him.

" Aren't you excited for your talent? "

Reid's gaze turned to his father who spoke.

He walked toward his seat and looked at the dishes.

" I wish I had enough mental strength to think about talent awakening. "

Troyn was starting at Reid. His mother followed the same.

" Is your dream acting up again? " His mother asked in a sweet voice.

Reid nodded in a heavy sigh. He lied about the dream saying it only occurred once a week.

" It is not good anymore. I will try to talk with my father. " His mother spoke.

Reid smiled. " It is okay. I am sure Grandpa had a lot on his hands. "

" No. He will come if he hears about your situation. "

Reid picked up the spoon and ate a piece of meat. At that moment, his eyes met with his father.

" Should I send the Academy a letter? "

" It is fine. Even though I am not talented like those kids, I am sure I can pass the test with ease. "

Troyn nodded in understanding.

The dinner ended and his family escorted him to the carriage. Reid kissed his mother and did the same to his sister.

He grabbed her check and gave it a soft twist. His sister pushed his hand and climbed up to their mother.

Reid laughed. He then entered into the carriage.

" Don't worry about others, Son. We have your back. "

His father said goodbye and the carriage moved out of the mansion.

Reid waved at the family for the last time and sat quietly inside the carriage.

His face was cold filled with unknown emotion to mankind.

He opened his record.

[ Record.]

Name - Reid Dover

Rank - Two

Talent - locked

Innate skill - All ********.

Reid frowned as he noticed the new line on his record.

' What is this? '

' Is it linked to my dreams? '

So many questions in his mind and yet Reid looked forward to the Academy. He knew that the Academy was famous for producing outstanding people.

He just hoped that after awakening his talent, he could simply lead his house in the country peacefully.

But again, what is going on inside me?
