Chapter 14

Lin Sifei swallowed, all the while warning herself to be calm

   and forcing her fur to lie flat.

   She squatted on the ground as she thought at first, hiding the

   chocolate between her front and back paws, her fur on those

   limbs just blocking the chocolate from view.

   Lin Sifei glanced around, trying to find the person who threw

   the chocolate.

   Whoever did this was vicious enough, since cats will die if

   they eat a lot of chocolate. This person deliberately wrapped

   it in shredded squid, so it was intentional, for they feared

   that she would not eat the chocolate if it was directly fed to

   her.

   Soon a few more pieces of squid rolled over, but the directions

   were different. It seemed that the other party had been moving

   to prevent detection.  Since Lin Sifei was surrounded by many

   people, most of the squid chocolate pieces would probably be

   kicked away, and this feeder knew that.

   Lin Sifei squinted her eyes for a while, but after concluding

   that it would be difficult for her to find the culprit, she sat

   on the ground and waited for Luo Ke to come.

   Luo Ke had just finished the prize draw, and at the request of

   the host, said a few words of encouragement to everyone. When

   she finished, she walked down the stage.

   "Meow~" Lin Sifei raised her head and yowled at her.

   Luo Ke bent over and reached out to pick her up, but Lin Sifei

   curled her neck and leaned back.

   Luo Ke raised her eyebrows slightly and looked at her,

   perplexed. Lin Sifei meowed again.

   Luo Ke watched Lin Sifei refuse to move, so she knelt on the

   ground and reached out to her, "What's the matter?"

   Lin Sifei raised a paw and pressed it on the back of Luo Ke's

   hand, and then pressed her hand to the place where she was

   sitting.

   Luo Ke followed her and touched a warm and soft round object

   with her fingers. She was silent for a moment, staring at Lin

   Sifei's eyes. Lin Sifei looked at her, eyes deep with some type

   of emotion, and nodded at her slightly.

   "Did you poop?"

   Lin Sifei: ? ? ? ! ! !

   With a furious "meow" she patted Luo Ke's face with a paw. You

   just pooped! You just pooped in public! Your brain is full of

   poop!

   Lin Sifei's paws swayed out in and out of sight so quickly, Luo

   Ke quickly conceded and drew back to avoid the flashing paws,

   "I was wrong, I was wrong."

   Lin Sifei gave a cold snort and twisted her head away from her

   terrible owner.

   Luo Ke grabbed the piece and breathed a sigh of relief,

   "Actually, I was a little worried, but luckily it's not."

   Lin Sifei glared at her, raising her paw again.

   Luo Ke couldn't help but laugh as she teased Lin Sifei. She

   picked up the cat in one hand, but felt something sticky on her

   hands.

   This was...

   She was stunned momentarily. Although Lin Sifei's body

   temperature had melted the chocolate, she could still tell that

   the chocolate was wrapped with the shredded squid, and the

   smell of chocolate was especially obvious in the air.

   She quickly put the cat on the table, pinching Lin Sifei's cat

   mouth, "You didn't eat it, did you!"

   When Lin Sifei saw Luo Ke's anxious energy, an idea came to her

   mind. She lifted her paws and grabbed Luo Ke's hands that

   squeezed her face. It seemed like normal cat behavior, but in

   fact, her paws quickly rubbed the corners of her own cat mouth,

   leaving some chocolate residue. 　

   "Don't worry, let me see." Luo Ke frowned.

   Lin Sifei rubbed her paw a few times to make sure that there

   was no problem, and then she pretended to give up resisting and

   raised her chin.

   When Luo Ke looked at the brown stain under her mouth, her

   pupils shrank. She picked up the cat and called the veterinary

   hospital as she walked.

   "Hello, Dr. Li? My cat may have eaten chocolate by mistake."

   "Chocolate! How much did it eat?!"

   Luo Ke looked at her sticky hands, but when she opened her

   mouth, "I, I don't know."

   "How can you be so careless? How long has it been since it ate

   it? In any case, hurry to the hospital."

   "I don't know how long it's been since she has eaten it, but

   within half an hour. No sign of any response."

   "Symptoms usually take three hours. Come to the hospital."

   As Luo Ke held her phone, she changed her pace from walking to

   running. Special Assistant Lin had just won a prize andwas

   happy, but upon seeing his boss in a panicked state, quickly

   came over, wanting to help solve the problem.

   "Chair Luo, what happened?"

   "Someone fed Xiaoxiao chocolate."

   Special Assistant Lin froze for a second, and then promptly put

   away the smile on his face.

   "Then Chair Luo should go to the hospital first, and I will

   check the surveillance cameras."

   Luo Ke nodded, wiped the completely melted chocolate in her

   hand with a paper towel and handed it to him, "There must be

   more near Xiaoxiao, go look for it."

   "Okay."

   Lin Sifei's brain hadn't recovered yet when she realized that

   Luo Ke had already rushed into the underground garage, holding

   her. Then, as they started driving, she saw Luo Ke's hands,

   holding the steering wheel, trembling slightly, her finger

   joints a little white. 　　

   Lin Sifei couldn't bear it anymore. She regretted lying to Luo

   Ke, resulting in her flustered state, so she meowed, "Meow~"

   She meowed, clapped her paws together, and rolled around

   lively, trying to signal that she was okay.

   "Don't move." Luo Ke stretched out one hand to hold her,  her

   other hand holding the steering wheel.

   Fortunately, the location of the veterinary hospital was not

   far away. The two traffic lights at the intersections on the

   way were all green; they were there in no time.

   Dr. Li was waiting at the door, and upon seeing them, beckoning

   hurriedly, "This way."

   Luo Ke ran over and handed him the cat. Dr. Li immediately

   opened her mouth to check her teeth and so on.

   "Huh?" He frowned, "Let's check it out in detail."

   The two quickly reached a consensus, and Lin Sifei was

   subjected to various checks, much to her dismay.

   After the examination, Dr. Li pushed his glasses up his nose,

   "It seems that it didn't eat chocolate."

   "But her mouth…"

   "Maybe it got on its fur, but didn't eat it."

   Luo Ke finally breathed a sigh of relief, "Let's just stay here

   to observe just in case."

   Doctor Li nodded, "Just in case, I asked the nurse to prepare

   everything for the gastric lavage."

   What, gastric lavage? ? ? Lin Sifei was even more frightened,

   and worked hard to roll around and jump around for the next

   three hours to prove that she was healthy.

   Luo Ke took a wet towel to wipe off the chocolate on her fur,

   and frowned, a little annoyed, "When we go back I need to give

   you a bath, you're all dirty."

   Lin Sifei groaned, but then remembered that she had given Luo

   Ke quite the fright, so she obediently laid down on Luo Ke's

   lap.

   After making sure that Lin Sifei was okay, Luo Ke took her

   back.

   The restaurant was about to close, and some employees had

   already gone home. But Luo Ke wasn't worried, since the culprit

   most likely hadn't left because they had a guilty conscience

   Only when she entered, Special Assistant Lin greeted her,

   "Chair Luo, the surveillance footage has been found, and Zhao

   Min is watching, but it seems like…"

   Luo Ke raised her hand to interrupt him, "Let's go over there

   and then talk."

   In the monitoring room, Zhao Min was there, but the restaurant

   manager was also there. After all, since their high profile

   guests suddenly wanted to look at surveillance, they were

   worried when something happened.

   "Good evening, Chair Luo."

   Luo Ke nodded towards the restaurant manager, "Don't be

   nervous, the cat is okay. I'll just watch the surveillance just

   to find out who did it."

   "Oh, okay." The manager sweated nervously from the tip of his

   nose.

   Luo Ke walked to the screen and asked Zhao Min, "Did you find

   anyone?"

   "There was the lottery draw at the time, and it was too

   crowded. The surveillance was all taken from above, and so

   didn't capture who threw it."

   "Let me see it again."

   The security guard immediately clicked on the video again, and

   the progress bar played a little bit, until when Special

   Assistant Lin nearly fell on stage. The cat's head on the

   screen suddenly moved, and then it quickly pounced on

   something.

   "Play this part again."

   This time she was not looking at the cat, but at the people

   around her. After the first piece of chocolate fell on the

   ground, who moved…

   "This person." She pointed to a woman in a white dress on the

   screen, "Can you clearly see who it is?"

   "You can look at the surveillance of the door when you enter

   the venue and then find them according to their clothes." The

   manager immediately said, patting the security guard's

   shoulder.

   Soon, they found this person. Yan Yafei.

   The surveillance at the door clearly demonstrated the clothes

   on her, exactly the same dress.

   Luo Ke tapped the table, as if knocking on the hearts of the

   people present, causing  everyone to be afraid to speak.

   "She's really a kind girl." Luo Ke pressed her temples and

   reached out to pick up Lin Sifei.

   She looked at the restaurant manager, "Can I take the video?"

   "This…I'm sorry, this also involves privacy issues, I…"

   Luo Ke nodded, she also understood this, but just asked

   casually. She wanted to deal with Yan Yafei, but definitely

   could do so without this video.

   She turned her head and walked out, while Special Assistant Lin

   and Zhao Min hurriedly followed.

   "Zhao Min, go find Yan Yafei and tell her to come to my office

   at ten tomorrow morning."

   "Go now?"

   "Now." Luo Ke walked into the venue and saw Yan Yafei sitting

   on the deck and laughing with a group of girls.

   She squinted, "Do it in front of everyone."

   "Yes, Chair Luo."

   Special Assistant Lin watched her walk over, "Chair Luo, why

   don't you deal with it now?"

   "Did you see it?"

   Special Assistant Lin showed a puzzled expression, what?

   Luo Ke stroked her cat tenderly, "Yan Yafei has a guilty

   conscience, from what I could tell of her reaction. If I fire

   her now, I can only fire her, which is actually meaningless.

   The time before the verdict is the most painful."
