“Ah, that makes sense. I was a little worried about your fashion sense.” Nanook smiles, and one of the nurses behind him giggles and gives Evan a slightly flirty look.

Inside, Evan groans. Normally, a pretty girl flirting with him would be a good thing. It would boost his ego at the very least. But now, all he can think is that it’s going to make Rene sulky and grumpy.

“So, you have more samples for us?” Nanook asks.

“Yes. I dropped them off, but I wanted to talk to the kids again, if that’s okay?”

“Of course. I want to check on a few things in the lab, if one of the nurses could take you,” Nanook says, turning to face the small huddle of nurses, and of course the flirty woman is the one to volunteer.

“Thank you, Ana.” Nanook smiles.

“This way, gentlemen,” Ana says, but at least she addresses both of them, instead of just Evan.

“So, you’re Nanook’s human friend?” Ana asks.

“Yes.” Evan nods.
