32. Vampire Reveal

"I'm not the first...?" You croaked, feeling an ill substance stuck within your throat. Your eyes remained wide with concern. "...so, all his last girlfriends...he...ate them?"

He remained silent for a while, staring at how your eyes began to prickle in tears. Realizing that Touya never truly wanted to be with you, he was only after your blood. You pressed your lips together, keeping your breathing to a minimum as you now saw Touya in a different light. You felt anger rising in you, felt cheated off like a shattering mirror, since the very first boyfriend you have, already planned to feast on you all along. Proving all along that all his kisses and and affections were nothing more than a taste of what you'd be like once you become food for him.

"...but," you began, throat patched dry. "...he spared me...why?"

"...I think I know why," he replied cautiously, causing you to lurch your eager eyes back up at him.

"...What is it?"

He slowly closed his eyes, purple lash flickered down before it flickered back up, showcasing ones that was filled with blood red colour that you've seen twice before.

"[Name], answer me back."

"...uh, yes?" You responded curiously.

He simply sighed, reverting his eyes back to the normal violet ones. "See? My power doesn't work on you, and it probably didn't work on him either, maybe that's what he also discovered, you're really...different."

Your eyes widened in sparking excitement, nearly forgetting your previous remorse. "Powers? Oh my gosh, this whole Vampire stuff like in the movie is real after all! And I feel like that main character, and wait," you tugged his sweater, leaning closer to him with excitement. "What's your power exactly?"

He scrunched his nose back up as he lurched his eyes away from you with dotted red in his cheeks. "...give me some space, you dork, and stop getting so excited."

You sighed softly, regaining composure as you stood back from him, you pursed your lips as you clutched your hand tightly. "...Okay, Shinsou, nevermind that then, but this explains everything... on why you stare at me, and why you wear a mask, and how you were worried about me being with Touya... but why me?"

Your eyes shot wide as you held tightly onto his lean shoulder blades, looking at him pointedly in the eyes. "You knew I was about to die, why didn't you force me to stay with you?"

He stared at you, blinking twice before he began to splutter little chuckles, almost scoffing at you. "I tried, didn't I? But, I couldn't force it on you."

"YOU should have told me the truth, then I wouldn't have gone!"

"But, you wouldn't believe me even if I tried," he retorted with a sigh.

"Yes! I would!" You yelled softly under gritted teeth.

"...Oh really?"

"Yeah, because I trust you..." you replied gentler, nearly softening from your sudden loud voice. "...I know you're honest like that, I would have stayed if you told me the truth, I would have believed you."

"...Tch, but isn't my warning enough for you to trust in my decisions for you?" He retorted, scoffing in unbelief, rolled his eyes off to the side. "...Nevermind that, the point is...what's your plan now?"

"..." you remained silent for a while, ruminating on plans of what you might do. An obvious answer is to break up with him, but that would be too soon and obvious that you know his true self. Another plan is to move out of the university and leave. But that plan was also risky, since if creatures like him existed, that meant that there would be others more that you would attract wherever you go.

"...But," you began. "...why me? I mean there's plenty of other people, other girls, and Touya, who's like the king of the school, picked a newbie like me...why?"

You pursed your lips before parting it to speak, "...dirty work? Wait, you haven't revealed everything? Tell me, who really is Touya? He has another name...right?"

He hesitated, clenching his fist to a ball as he shook his head. He looked back into your eyes with a darkened aura. "Answer my question first, you don't need to know everything in one day, and I don't intend on revealing you everything about our existence, it will put you in graver danger, so tell me..." he began to lean closer to you, locking his arms beside you as you bumped against the wall. "...What are you planning to do?"
