Elmer shrugged his shoulders, indicating that he didn't know either. Letting out a sigh, Elmer asked Jessica to take off her pajamas and play on the computer for a while, while he walked out of the room intending to check on Aunt Julia.

Quietly pushing open the door, Elmer saw Julia lying there peacefully, her chest rising and falling steadily, indicating that she was in a deep sleep.

Julia had been through a lot, Elmer shook his head, unsure why, feeling a twinge of sadness in his heart. After a moment of sighing, he closed the door and walked to his sister's and brother's room.

If his estimation was correct, his mother should be sleeping with his sister and brother to avoid waking them up. Slowly and cautiously, Elmer pushed the door open, only to find Rita and Nydia sleeping together, but no sign of his mother.
