3: The Witch Master.

He stood firmly before the black wolf as the night breeze blew against his face, ruffling up his black silky hair.

He held tightly onto his sword as he waited patiently for the beast to make its move but surprisingly, it didn't do anything well, not until he decided to take another step forward.

The wolf instantly charged straight towards him. Its speed was quite impressive since it was able to catch up to him with only a few steps. Its jaw was wide open, ready to bite him to death.

He jumped back and out of its way but the wolf was quick to turn around and charge at him once again. Creating the right space and time for an attack was key, but at the moment the wolf wasn't going to allow that to happen.

He jumped back and away once again and just as the best jumped towards him for the third time, he quickly stabbed his sword into its wide open mouth while sliding beneath it.

The sword went through its upper jaw and out from its head. It tried howling in pain but the sword didn't allow that. All seemed over but unfortunately, the wolf wasn't down yet.

It continued to bite down until the sword was broken into two and the other half with the hilt slowly fell out from its mouth.

" Dear God." He thought as he slowly began to back away.

Blood slowly dripped down from the beast's head as it slowly began to walk towards him as well. At the moment he was helpless and getting back his sword would be one hell of a task.

He stopped and quickly ran straight towards the beast. The beast stopped as well and waited for him to come close but a few centimeters away from it he fell down in an attempt to roll past the beast from beneath.

The stunt he just tried to pull was about to turn into the worst mistake he ever made as the beast quickly positioned its mouth to allow it to bite down at him.

He noticed the wolf's sudden change of tactics and just before it could make contact with him, he placed his hand on the ground and pushed himself off the ground.

Now with his upper body slightly body off the ground, he pushed his entire body off the ground with the aid of his leg. With that, he was able to spin horizontally past the wolf from above.

He was able to reach his broken sword and although it was quick, it wasn't anywhere near easy.

As the beast came charging towards him once again, he decided to take a rather huge and uncertain risk. Just as it opened its mouth, he threw his left hand straight into it and allowed the wolf to bite hard on it.

The pain was incredibly excruciating but he endured as he pulled the beast wolf closer before proceeding to stab the broken sword straight into its chest.

The last attack was able to damage its heart and slowed the beast very much. He then proceeded to pull open its mouth and pull out his hand. The wolf's teeth sank deep into it and it was bleeding profusely.

He left the wolf and slowly walked towards the red mushrooms. His gaze was slightly going blurry and he didn't need anyone to tell him that the wolf had done more than bite him.

He picked up three of the mushrooms and slowly turned around. He wanted to get to Sava as fast as he could but his condition was slowly getting worse.

With each step he took his head began throbbing with pain and just as he arrived at the foot of his hut he collapsed on the ground.

The next time he opened his eyes he found himself lying on a mat with bandages tied around his left hand and his shirt taken off.

" Your sister already left before you arrived and one of your comrades came here with word of Captain Angmar seeking your presence," Sava said, slowly walking towards him.

Sina quickly got up from the mat and looked up to see Sava standing with a bottle filled with a red liquid.

His mind was fixated on the farmers he had beaten up. The wounds he had left on them were quite severe and if he didn't hurry up then they would both bleed to death.

" Do you have any healing potions I can borrow?" He asked as he quickly got on his feet.

" Yes of course." He said, handing him the bottle he was holding, "Here take it."

Sina quickly took the bottle and ran out of the hut as fast as he could. He still felt quite tired but it wasn't enough to stop him.

When he arrived at their hut he found the both of them lying there unconscious. They had huge amounts of blood but seemed to still be breathing with the daggers still attached to their bodies.

After he was done applying the healing potion to their bodies he lifted them from the floor and placed them on his shoulders before slowly walking out of the hut.

They were both very heavy and were a burden he was trying very hard to manage. It was a while before he reached the village fence and a few more steps to the entrance, he dropped the both of them and slowly continued forward.

The moment he crossed the gate he was immediately called back by Captain Angmar.

" Sina there you are, I've been looking for you all day." The captain said, walking towards him, "You know it's your turn on guard duty today right? You're quite lucky I'm not ready to give you a punishment now get on to it."

Sina was far too tired to respond to anything he had just heard and while they were both still talking, he heard the sound of heavy footsteps coming from the direction of the village entrance.

" What is that?" Deputy Maria asked, running towards the both of them.

" Those... They aren't human. Go inform Walter immediately." Angmar said, turning his gaze towards Sina.

Mustering all the strength that was left in him he took one step forward but as soon as he did a deep, loud voice resounded throughout the village, one that sent shivers down everyone's spine.

" I AM THE WITCH MASTER AND I COME WITH A MESSAGE FOR YOUR PUNY VILLAGE."

" SEND OUT YOUR BEST WARRIOR TO FIGHT ME, IF NO ONE COMES OUT YOUR VILLAGE WILL BURN, IF YOUR WARRIOR LOSES YOUR VILLAGE WILL BURN. YOU MUST WIN TO SURVIVE."

" Oh no NO no. For all things holy no. He shouldn't have come here and what are those things behind him?" Walter said as he quickly rushed forward.

Sina was left completely speechless as he watched the elders tremble in fear at the mere presence of the army before the village. No words were needed for them to know that they had no hope left.

He slowly glimpsed at his hand to see that a dark aura had begun to emit from it. A strange energy began to surge into him and with sudden newfound strength and courage, he looked up and said, " I'll fight him."

" Certainly he can't be serious. You might be the best of all the recruits but you couldn't even manage to beat Captain Angmar, he should be the one to face the Witch Master." Deputy Maria said turning towards him.

" In an actual battle that is. While I may be more experienced, Sina here is far more fit and skillful. While he may not be better, he is far more reliable than I am." Captain Angmar objected with a slight chuckle.

" Are we really..."

" If no one else is ready to face him then I'll do it myself. You can see the mere size of his army, the rules he just subjected us to are our only ways out of this."

Having come to an agreement, they all quickly handed him a sword and armor but he only took the sword, shoulder plates, and chain paints since boots and chest plates were going to weigh him down.

Now armed as much as he could, he slowly walked forward towards the mysterious Witch Master. By this time everyone was already out of their house to see what was happening and they couldn't help but grab themselves in fear.

The army stepped back a little, leaving him and the young man standing against each other with their weapons held out and ready for battle.

" Now then, shall we begin." The witch master said, raising his staff."

Sina upon that signal, quickly charged towards him with his sword held out to his right but after getting a few centimeters close to his opponent, the staff was fired towards him.

He was able to parry away the staff and continued forward after that but the staff flew towards him once again, forcing him to turn around and parry it away once again.

Once again, he quickly made a turn to see that the Witch Master had vanished along with the entirety of his army.

That was when the immense amount of energy that had been surging up above him caught his attention and he looked up to see a huge ball of flames descending towards the village.

" So this it." He thought as the sword he was holding slowly fell out of his hand and he fell to his knees.

Everyone in the village quickly took to their hills in a bid to avoid the meteor's range but that seemed very unlikely.

As Sina slowly turned his gaze to the ground he was instantly engulfed in darkness and what happened next was of no knowledge to him.
