Chapter 53：Angry

Chu Ling'er pulled Lai Yayan and sat them both down on the sofa. She whispered to Li Weijie, "Come over and explain."

Li Weijie furrowed his eyebrows slightly and walked over, but he didn't sit down. Instead, he stood in front of them, quietly watching the two of them.

"Why did you... bully Yayan just now?" 

Chu Ling'er wasn't as straightforward as Lai Yayan, her voice was more gentle, and her words were a bit vague, using the term "bullying".

Lai Yayan snorted heavily and glared at Li Weijie with disdain. This was already the second time he took advantage of her. How could she not be angry?

"Piaopiao? Hah, I never expected you to be Chu Ling'er." 

Li Weijie didn't respond to her words, his tone containing a hint of sarcasm. It didn't matter if he didn't recognize her, but he had bragged about knowing Chu Ling'er, and they didn't reveal it, clearly intentionally making fun of him.

"Hmph! Didn't you say you were close to Chu Ling'er? Shameless liar, you never speak the truth! Bragging, lying, lewd, vulgar, bullying girls... in short, you're a big villain!" Lai Yayan scolded angrily, feeling much better after venting her frustrations.

Li Weijie sneered, "Yeah, that's who I am, a braggart and a liar. What goes around comes around, and I deserve to be a clown!"

His words didn't escape the oblivious Lai Yayan, but Chu Ling'er, who was more attentive, felt Li Weijie's displeasure. Now he spoke even more heavily and explicitly! 

This made her lower her head slightly, unwilling to look into his eyes or make him more embarrassed.

Both of them didn't expect that after Li Weijie finished speaking, he didn't stay there any longer, but turned around and walked out!

"Hey! Trying to run away, huh!" Lai Yayan stood up and quickly stepped forward, blocking Li Weijie.

Hearing Lai Yayan's voice, Chu Ling'er looked up in haste and saw Li Weijie really intending to leave. With a hint of apology, she said, "Hey, Ajie, we... didn't mean to play a trick on you, it's just..."

Li Weijie glanced at Lai Yayan in front of him, and said coldly, "You can say whatever you want about this matter, I have nothing else to explain. Also, if you two ladies want to find someone to have fun and vent, find someone else!"

Lai Yayan was stunned for a moment. In this reunion from the afternoon until now, apart from the counterattack just now, she had always spoken harshly to him, and he seemed to have a good temper or was putting up with it. It seemed like he was genuinely angry now...

Quickly, she shook her head and scolded herself inwardly for being too soft. 

Why did she care if this jerk was angry? 

What qualifications did he have to be angry after bullying people twice? The one who should be angry is me! Besides, he has always been the one provoking my anger. To truly make him angry would be revenge!

"Ajie... Mr. Li..." 

Chu Ling'er also stood up and approached him, but she didn't know how to handle the situation. 

She was always the one being surrounded by others, and whenever she frowned, others would coax and amuse her. She had no experience dealing with such a scene.

When Li Weijie was about to open the door to leave, Chu Ling'er's melodious voice once again reached his ears. Hearing her soft and pleasant voice, Li Weijie paused for a moment, turned around to look at her, but didn't bother asking.

"You... You won't reveal Piaopiao's identity, will you?" Chu Ling'er seemed to find it difficult to speak. "You... you won't...?"

Li Weijie was slightly taken aback, then quickly understood her meaning. She was afraid he would reveal her identity and whereabouts!

His attitude immediately became colder, and he said in a deep voice, "Miss Chu, rest assured. Although I'm a bad person, I have no dealings with paparazzi. As for important news about you 'big' celebrities, I have no interest in spreading it. Let alone have the appetite for it!" 

With that, he opened the door and left.

The sound of the door closing heavily made both girls feel a slight tremor in their hearts. 

Although Li Weijie deliberately emphasized "big" celebrities and "important" news, it was clear that he was being sarcastic, revealing his disdain and indifference towards celebrity gossip.

After Li Weijie left, both Chu Ling'er and Lai Yayan stood there motionless. After a while, Chu Ling'er asked softly, "Yayan, did we... hurt a friend? Should we apologize?"

Lai Yayan pouted, "What responsibility do you have? He's just being sensitive. As for me... I'm not his friend, I consider it my duty to torment him and seek revenge. Haha, my happiness is built on his pain! It makes me happy to see him angry!"

Chu Ling'er couldn't help but smile and nudged her friend playfully. 

"Alright, don't make yourself sound like a female demon. Beware that no boy will dare to want you!"

Lai Yayan smirked, "No boy wants me? Although I'm not into that, I can reluctantly spend my life with you."

"Stop playing around," Chu Ling'er laughed and dodged, then frowned and said, "I feel like Ajie is really angry. Actually, he's not a bad person. He helped us with our luggage and protected me from danger..."

"Huh?" Lai Yayan looked at Chu Ling'er in surprise and jokingly said, "Piaopiao, are you starting to have feelings for that jerk?"

Chu Ling'er blushed, "You're so annoying. What are you talking about? I've only known him for a few hours. I won't associate him with any high ideals like some people. It's just that he really treats us as friends, and hiding our identities is disrespectful to him."

"Well, that's easy. Just treat him as an enemy like me, and then you won't feel guilty!" Lai Yayan said matter-of-factly.

Naturally, this comment provoked a roll of the eyes from Chu Ling'er. With her incomparably beautiful face, she hesitated for a while, then made a determined decision. 

"I've decided!"

"What have you decided?" Lai Yayan was already lying on the sofa.

Chu Ling'er said seriously, "I've decided to apologize to him!"

"Piaopiao, are you serious?" 

Lai Yayan knew that she was a girl with a soft exterior but a strong interior. Once she had made a decision, it must be genuine.

Suddenly, she pretended to cry and exclaimed, "Is there any justice in this world? Now, your good friend has been assaulted by him, and you want to apologize to the pervert! I'm so depressed!"
