Invitation!

"Dragon Duel? What's that?" Damien says.

"It's a Duel between academies, that takes place every other year. We picked four students from the first years to participate in this tournament, and they go against twenty-eight other students. There's a total of eight academy's that participate this year. And I want you to join." The headmaster says. `

"Um, okay? When does this all begin?"

"Well, next month on the first. So about 30 days." The headmaster says with a smile.

"Shit. Alright." Damien nods.

"That will be all Damien, I hope to see good results." The headmaster waves his hand gesturing toward the door behind Damien.

Damien gets up and starts walking out. 

"Oh! And Damien, do be careful to not start any more trouble here." The headmaster says with a sinister smile.

"Yeah, okay..." Damien says as he opens the door and walks out. 

He starts heading down the hall when Randell comes running up to him. 

"Hey man, you alright?" Randell says with a frantic tone. 

"Yeah, your dad is crazy... and the Elders I didn't know we had six of them. Some of them are just to stuck up in their own ways, can see past their own bloody noses." Damien says as he sighs and starts walking down the hall.

"Oh yeah, they are quite difficult to deal with but I gotta say you did a good job." Randell says.

"What makes you figure?" Damien says with an inquisitive tone.

"Well, first and foremost you are alive. Secondly, you didn't get thrown out of the campus. I wonder what happened. Especially since you did kill one of the elders' grandsons, it shouldn't have been easy to walk out of there."

"Well, I put him in his fucking spot. He tried to do something and then the truth put him to shame. And I got an invite to the Dragons Duel."

The words Dragons Duel shocks Randell, "Th-the Dragons Duel? Impressive." The only words that come out of Randell for several minutes before they stand in front of the Warping classroom.

They both enter the classroom and Arnold begins class. Damien sits next to Veronica and Randell sits next to Damien. 

Arnold goes over a few subjects about Warping magic for the first half of class but in the second half he allows people to create groups of three and practice their magic control.

"I want you all to create groups of three, and practice releasing your magic to its uttermost limits, show how much you can control. I want the other two to observe the person and find flaws in their approach, this will allow you to grow and learn about the mistakes you make. This way you don't cause any issues in your future development." 

Damien, Veronica, and Randell decide to group up and they head to the training arena. 

"Alright Randell you go first." Damien says. 

Randell nods as he begins to exude his magic power. A red glow starts to form around him and then it slowly intensives until the glow out reaches a few meters away from him and then collapses. Randell falls to his knees, covered in sweat.

"Ha, ha, ha." Randell breathing heavily. "Th-that was all I got. H-How was it?"

Damien and Veronica exchange looks. 

"You took to long to charge up, which made it harder to maintain the higher output. But other than that, it seemed flawless to me." says Veronica.

Damien nods, "I agree, but your breathing needs a bit of work too. You have to remember to take deep breaths and keep a calm and clear mind."

Damien and Veronica help Randell to his feet. "I guess it'll be my turn." Veronica says.

The boys nod.

Veronica starts powering up and a purple glow forms around her building up quickly it stretches a few meters around the same length as Randell and stops. Veronica is able to maintain it for some time, but the aura dissipates, and she falls. Damien catches her before she falls.

"Easy Veronica." Damien says smiling at her. "You did good, but your control was great, and you maintained it well. If you continue doing what you're doing, you'll be on teachers' level soon enough." 

"Yeah, Veronica! Awesome job!" Randell says.

"Thanks." Veronica says as she smiles at both of them. 

Damien steadies Veronica on her feet and then takes a few steps back. "It's my turn."

  Damien clenches his fist and takes a long deep breath; he holds it and does this a few times. On his last breath out the area around him explodes in a blue and black fury! His Aura exudes tens of meters away from him, surrounding both Randell and Veronica. Damien's eyes are radiating a deep blue hue, his muscles tense. Damien aura continues to grow bit by bit. 

Both Veronica and Randell are left speechless as they watch Damien unleash his magic power. His control and the amount of magic power take the attention from Arnold, as he watches over the student.

"My god... This magic power from this man is incredible. I don't even think I can amass such a high output." Arnold says in astonishment. 

A few seconds go by and then Damien takes a deep breath and then releases his breath dissipating all the magic power he just unleashed. 

"Well, whatcha think?" He says with a smile. 

"I can see why my dad's attention is to you..." Randell says.

"Beautiful." The only words out of Veronica's mouth.

Damien blushes "Th-thanks." He rubs the back of his head as he walks toward his group.

"Well, any issues, you two see?" Damien asks.

"None." Randell says.

Veronica shakes her head. "I couldn't see anything, your magical power surrounded use and I couldn't see any issues." 

"Well let's spar and train a bit, I gotta get stronger." Damien says gesturing toward the two.

"Heh, alright. I'll go a few rounds with you Damien!" Randell gets ready to spar with Damien.

"Yeah, let's see if you improved at all." Veronica charges up her power and gets ready to fight Damien.

"Let's go! Both at the same time!" Damien says as he releases his power and charges at both.
