"Time's up. Put down your pen."
I heaved a long breath as I took a last glance at my paper. Then I handed it over to Mr. Hudson's outstretched hand.
The result should be good. I was pretty confident with my answers.
Mr. Hudson wasn't an English teacher, so he handed it over to Mr. Gabrielle. She took it without looking at it. "Thank you for your hard work, Miss Williams. I will evaluate it and give you the result tomorrow."
Initially, I thought she would evaluate it on the spot, but it seemed she had another idea in mind. Whatever it was, I won't let it go your way easily.
"Uh… Can I ask something?"
"What is it?" Mr. Hudson asked.
"Would Mrs. Gabrielle be the only one who will check on my answer?"
"Well, yes, I suppose. She is the English teacher after all." Mr. Hudson cast a sideways glance at Mrs. Gabrielle, while the latter frowned, clearly displeased with my question.
"Do you have a problem with me, Miss Williams?"
