I walked slightly behind Noah since I felt uneasy if I couldn't see him in this darkness. He said it was just a misunderstanding, but I was still wary of him. He was clearly different from his 'easy-going' siblings. I couldn't let my guard down around him.
We have been walking in a straight line for a while, but no kitchen to be seen. I started to feel suspicious about Noah. Was he lying to me about taking me to the kitchen, but leading me to a strange place instead?
As though he noticed something from my stiff expression, Noah said, "We are almost there. You don't have to look at me accusingly like that. I wasn't trying to trick you or anything."
"Oh my, whatever do you mean by that?" I asked innocently, completely ignoring his sharp gaze.
Noah scoffed before he hastened his steps. He seemed didn't want to bother me anymore. I just shrugged my shoulders and followed him.
