"Hmm... well, that was unexpected! Luckily, I didn't take you to the main testing hall," Stan said with relief.
"I am sorry, guild master; I damaged the Orb," Alan expressed remorse for the damage.
"Call me Headmaster when you are at the academy. After all, I am the Headmaster of this Academy," Zain instructed them. "And it's no big deal; this is a spare one we had. Don't worry," Stan waved his apologies aside.
"Williams, congratulations. You are one of the handful of people with the boost affinity in this whole kingdom, just like mine. Whether it's for strength or speed, we will know once you start controlling your mana and start channeling it," Stan said happily.
"Headmaster, didn't his affinity show a gold color?" Alan asked in confusion.
"Yes, lad. Here, see this," Stan put his left hand on the cracked orb and channeled a small amount of his mana. "I hope it would work," he mused. The orb started glowing gold, cracks spreading wider, and Stan stopped injecting his mana immediately.
"This one will be useless now. I have to order a new one," he mumbled, keeping the orb slowly back into the box, placing it in its original place.
"I mean, Headmaster, my mana was also having a gold color when I forged my sword," Alan said slowly, hesitating.
"What do you mean, gold color, lad? Haven't you seen Steve's mana color? It would be a dull silver," Zain said sternly.
Alan shook his head and said, "Here, I can show you, Headmaster," he started channeling his mana throughout his body, glowing bright gold.
Stan stared at Alan for a long time without saying anything, then let out a sigh. "Lad, you are like an onion with many layers. Ok, you can stop channeling now."
"Wait a moment," Zain told the two boys and strode towards the door. He opened it, called for a person, "Get Master Harry from his quarters and bring him to my office. I will be there in a few moments."
After that, he locked the door again and came back.
"Well, I will have to prepare a separate schedule for both of you. You will attend only the theory classes for now and go to other branches of medicinal and Arts studies. For practical lessons, Williams will be taking his advanced combat lessons from me. Alan, Master Harry shall train you in advanced skills. I will be monitoring your growth and can provide the theoretical knowledge whenever required."
"By the way, where is your sword, Alan? I would love to see it once."
Alan took it out from his storage ring and held it in front of the Headmaster, surprising him.
"Well, you've already learned to use storage items also. Not surprising anymore," Stan said, taking the sword into his hand.
"Hmmmm... this is," he pulled out the sword from its scabbard and looked up at Alan in surprise. Alan nodded, saying, "it is the Star Metal from Master Steve. I felt a tugging sensation from it when I saw the stone, and Master Steve guided me to forge it after being a swordsmith apprentice for 6 months."
"You crafted this after just 6 months of apprenticeship with Steve?" Stan asked in astonishment.
"Yes, Headmaster," nodded Alan.
Stan swung the sword a few times and said, "It's one of the finest swords I have seen to date, lad. Use it with care. But isn't it a bit heavy?" he asked.
"Not at all, Headmaster. It's as light as a feather in my hands, but others feel it's heavy. And Master Steve predicted that only an enhancer type of person might have a chance to use it," Alan concluded.
"Let's test that then," Stan channeled mana to his hand, making it glow gold, and swung it again. He then withdrew his mana and shook his head. "No, it still feels heavy. The only explanation I can think of is, the sword is attuned to your mana. Nobody other than you can use it to its full potential," he stated his theory before giving back the sword to Alan.
