The Pheniox City !!!

Once they reached the edge of the forest, the Vista Clearing, provided a picturesque view of the city.

The deliberately cleared trees and vegetation gave a clear line of sight and allowed the defenders to see approaching armies.

The city was surrounded by stout walls, towers, and moats, designed to protect it from attack. These defenses were manned by skilled soldiers who guarded the city's gates and also stationed ontop of the outer wall at strategic locations. Soldiers were also seen patroling ontop of the wall.

The group approached the gate. " Lads I am not introducing myself here. If I do so, the King will not leave me be at peace. Rodrick you can show you identity and the others can show your letters from the university."

Agreeing, they trotted forward on their horses. Once at the gate they were amazed at the shere size of the main entry and the enormous gate. There were hundreds of guards on top of the wall guarding the capital.

To control the crowd and the movement of the people, dozens of guards were stationed at the entrance. Like the Mistwood town, they got into a short que and when the time came for them to state their buisness, they all produced their letters from the academy. Rodrick saw a couple of familiar faces in the midst of the guards. Who bowed their head at him and allowed them inside.

As they travel further, guards were also seen patrolling its streets, ensuring the safety and security of the city's people.

"Phew.... That went well. I am not yet ready to be pestered by the King." It's still early in the morning, let us take an Inn near the inner city. After some rest and lunch, we shall go towards the University." Harry informed everyone.

The outer city was bustling with people. Shops and market places were neatly arranged and maintained. Houses were built on both side of the streets with shops in between.

The streets were wide and clean. In the market area the streets were wide enough to accommodate four wagons together and as they travelled further into the residential area the streets became slightly narrower but still could accommodate two wagons easily.

Just like the green city, the inner city was seperated by a wall, But this wall was huge, surrounded by moats filled with water and had a huge draw bridge. This was a second layer of defence to the city and the royal palace.

The scrutiny at the inner gates were stricter than the city entrance, inturn avoiding unwanted conflicts. After confirming their identities again they were allowed to enter the inner city.

Rodrick looking somewhat hesitant spoke. "We still have a couple of weeks for the classes to commence. Master Harry, guys, I will take my leave here. I shall go to the university and arrange a place for all of us to stay."

"We have a few options there. First is the dormitory where four students share a common hall. Then we have independent houses where two to four students share a house having two room and a living room."

"Then there are courtyard house. Where we shall have four to five spacious rooms, a reading area, a living room and has a private stable also. We will also have a guard / servent out-house. What do you all think? Is the third option acceptable for everyone?" Rodrick looked at all of them unsure whether his idea of everyone staying together would be accepted by others.

"Excellent idea Rick, But can the girls also stay with us? In the academy we used to have seperate dormitory for the boys and girls in the academy." Alan asked curiously.

"That's not a problem. Here in the university, siblings and also many couples from various families and background comes to study. Generally Eeryone enrolling here are above 20 years and have the ability to make their own choices. Staying together is not a problem but there are some rules that everyone should follow." Harry said casually.

"If the girls are fine with it, then we don't have any issue." Alan looked around to see the others reaction. There were big smiles on everyones faces and nods of agreement.

Rodrick beamed and took his leave to arrange their quarters.

Harry found them a decent Inn and after resting and having their lunch everyone came out to explore the city before going to the University.
