'Bang'—a memorial was slammed heavily onto the bright yellow desk, and Dugu Han's face darkened, the veins standing out on his hand as he placed it on the document. Behind him, Eunuch Shi shivered and carefully raised his eyes to glance at the emperor seated on his throne.
"Hmph, more trouble caused than help provided," he spat out bitterly.
Eunuch Shi stood to one side, his beady eyes swiveling, catching sight of a little eunuch bringing tea, and promptly intercepted it, stepping forward with the warm tea, "Your Majesty, the spring is dry, have some tea to cool your fire."
Dugu Han glanced sideways at Eunuch Shi and took the tea to moisten his mouth, "Summon Zhuifeng."
"Yes." Eunuch Shi bowed and left, his mind wandering about whose memorial it actually was.
Zhuifeng hurried over, and upon seeing the emperor's grim expression, lowered his head and parted his sensual thin lips, "Your Majesty."
