Chapter - 57 [ Drum Island! ]

After travelling for a few days, they reached little garden. And it was very wild.

Now in front of the large Island filled with nothing but trees and caves, Going Merry and D stopped. Since this time Going Merry was near D, Ash covered it together with D, so that that idiots can't change the barrels inside with explosives! But probably it will not come to that.

Jumping on the ground, everyone looked around to see what kind of island was this. Ash said,

"This is an ancient island. Survived from the great calamity till now, there exists many creatures of the past in this island. Examples are Dinosaurs, Large animals, and many dangerous and poisonous insects. So, always be on guard."

Others nodded. Luffy as always ran inside the jungle, Sanji and Zoro began to compete for who can get largest meat. The girls didn't left the ship unlike in the original. Raven knew about the giants, so does Ash. But neither warned about them to the crew.

And As expected after a few hours of their arrival, they sensed the ground shaking so much. When looked above, they saw two giants walking towards each other. The girls were surprised and shocked.

It was Brogy and Dorry.

Luffy and the other boys enjoyed the giant's brawl. Tatsuya and the others were also even more amazed by this world. Now they felt fortunate that they accepted his offer.

Luffy interjected and stopped the giants from fighting. As they were talking, Mr. 3, his partner Miss Golden Week, Mr. 5 and his partner Miss Valentine tried to attack the giants, Luffy and his gang. But they were defeated like in the original. Since they need this to grow, Ash didn't help them.

And as expected following the plot, Luffy defeated them and helped the Giants. Ash just teleported them four of them to a nearby marine office to be captured by the marine.

After talking to the giants some more, Nami asked how long would it take to store magnetic energy to go to next Island. When she heard 1 year, she was screaming. But Ash told them he can lead them to the next Island with D's radar.

And that's how they left the island. And like how it was supposed to happen, a sea king tried to swallow them, but with D's size, it was impossible. And he just pulverized the whole thing with laser gun making Luffy become too troublesome to deal with. He said to make one for Merry. But Ash refused saying may be in the future. Of course Usopp also requested but was rejected. But Ash won't allow Merry to be destroyed.

"So, which island should we choose as our next destination?"

Nami as the navigator asked,

"Drum Island. It is an island full of doctors and if I remember correctly, your crew doesn't have a doctor, right?"

Luffy jumped excitedly and said,

"Yeah! We need a doctor! A musician too!"

Evryone agreed. Ash said,

"Lene, I'll leave it to you."

«Understood, Master.»

Everyone from the Straw Hats was surprised by the new voice. When they asked, he explained how technically advanced his ship was. Luffy being Luffy requested for Merry to be modified. Everyone was fine with it too.

Ash sighed in defeat as now or later it was the same. So he nodded and told everyone to evacuate the ship for now. They all came forward to D and Ash carried Merry inside the ship's workshop after decreasing it's size into the size of a keychain.

As he said do not disturb him during the process, no one came towards him or the workshop.

And their sailing to Drum Island took them two days. During that time, Ash completed modifying Merry. And as expected he saw Merry, the ship spirit. He talked with it and did something for their surprise. But it will not be revealed now.

Before reaching Drum Island, Ash exited his workshop in the excited eyes of others. He smiled and invited everyone outside. When they were outside, he flew and slowly released Merry which was kept small by his powers.

As they saw a ship enlarge itself, all of them were shocked beyond words by what they saw. Merry was now covered by metal instead of wood and the sheep head was still there. But the other parts were metal and there was an aura of a living being in it.

Besides there was four cannons, no ordinary but laser cannons capable of destroying an island if necessary. In other words, they have an ancient weapon of their own. And it doesn't sail on wind anymore. Like his, it runs on engine and energy. And the energy was not going to run out anytime soon. He made an all purpose navigation unit, with compass, map and radar. There was battle station for controlling the laser guns. He also made it so that it can travel underwater. He made the body indestructible under any conditions which means Merry won't be destroyed no matter what.

Everyone was unable to say anything when they head him. Even Robin, and his other crew wasn't able to think correctly.

"A-Are you a God?"

Nami asked nervously which made him chuckle, but he shook his head and went to show Luffy and Usopp the controls.

"So, he basically created a Pluton for the straw hats?"

Robin asked with a little fear. But they all heard him say,

"Don't worry, Robin. I gave them this because I know Luffy and the others won't use it unless they deem it necessary."

Robin nodded her head. Ais and the other girls brought her alone and explained how strong was Ash and his people were which made the intelligent woman look at him with shocked eyes. He only smiled at her.

'So he has the power to dominate this world but is uninterested.... How mysterious...'

That was Robin's thoughts. After a small lag, Nami also returned to Merry and learned the navigation unit controls and steering controls from Ash.

Ash then taught Usopp to control the gun perfectly. Before reaching Drum Island, as in original, Nami and surprisingly Vivi caught a heavy cold even though she didn't entered the island. And he didn't healed them as they need to find themselves a doctor. Ash told them that both are fine, but this time, he will not heal them. Though it surprised them, when he explained why, they understood his reasons. He wanted them to grow and find answers themselves. If he were to heal them now, it will mean, they will become overly reliant on him.

When they reached Drum Island, they were met with the people, but Luffy this time properly requested unlike in the anime. They cautiously let Luffy and the others in to the island. Ash told them to go and heal Nami. He decided to heal Vivi himself after the straw-hats are gone. He didn't forget to tell them about the doctor recruitment.

When he healed her, Vivi complained how could he let her suffer when he could've healed her. But hearing his explanation, Vivi embarassedly nodded her head. But she requested him something. Surprisingly or not so surprisingly, she requested a date with him when her country is saved.

And of course he accepted.

Luffy met Wapol and was stopped, but ran towards the top of the mountain to find the mysterious doctor witch. He carried Nami and Sanji who were injured by climbing the mountain. It was too hard on him. But with that, he was able to grow a little.

Kereha who spotted them this time instead of Chopper, brought them inside her castle and decided to help them. Nami who was easily healed because it was just a flu, opened her eyes and saw the old woman.

"Who are you grandma? I was with my cr—!"

Before she could continue, a pot was thrown at her head. With an angered look she saw Kureha glaring at her.

"Who are you calling grandma? I'm still so young..."

At the same time, Luffy and Sanji entered the room with loud thud from the door,

"Nami! Are you okay?!"

"Nami-swaan~! Are you okay? Hm? Who's this old woman?——!!"

Sanji also got attacked.

"I told you I'm not old! Geez.. young ones are now so rude..."

Nami giggled and saw something, or rather someone trying to hide in the most hilarious way possible. There was a small animal wearing a cap, hiding with its head behind the wall and his ass in the open area.

"Hey... Are you trying to hide?"

That was when Luffy and Sanji looked at the animal.

Watering his mouth, Luffy said,

"Meat?"

Sanji said,

"Hmm... I might be able to make a speciality..."

The small animal, Chopper trembled and ran away making the two idiots to follow him.

"You guys! Chopper isn't for eating!"

Kureha also ran after them. This made Nami laugh even more.
