Betrayal

I frantically go throughout my cabin, looking for the thing that I spent months to not only get a blessing but to get the money for it.

"Where is it," I muttered then looked on the fountain, "there you are," I said as I grabbed the ring box. I had spent months on a quest to get Athena's blessing to marry Annabeth and almost just as much time to get the perfect ring. Today was going to be the day that I propose to her. I stepped out of my cabin after picking up everything that I tossed around and headed to the Athena cabin. I knocked on the door expecting to see her opening the door but instead, it was Malcolm. "Hey Mal," I began with a grin

"Hey Perce," he began with a smile of his own but this one looked forced, "what's up?"

"I'm looking for Annabeth," I began, "do you know where she is?"

Malcolm paled as his eyes darted around nervously, "Percy I don't think you should go looking for her right now, he began. "I don't know where she is but when she comes back I'll be sure to tell her you were looking for her."

After he said that he quickly closed the door in my face, "That was odd," I said as I turned on my heel. "Okay, if I was Wise Girl where would I be," I said with a huff as I looked over the camp. If Annabeth wanted to be alone she'd most likely be at our spot by the beach, I smiled as I walked over there. My smile widened once I saw her there but it disappeared once I noticed she wasn't alone. Quickly I hid behind a piece of driftwood to see what was going to happen, I expected her to kick the invader out of the area but she didn't. Instead, she clung to him but the thing that made my heart drop was when she started to kiss him. First, it was on the cheek as if it was brotherly love then it moved to the lips turning into a make-out session. Anger boiled in my chest, "Annabeth," I began in a whisper, "Annabeth how could you," I finally yelled as a wave crashed over the two. They looked in my direction and to my horror, I found out she was kissing my hated half-brother Michael. "I trusted you," I screamed before throwing the box toward the two before running off

"Percy, wait," Annabeth began as she started running after me, I set another wave on them as she was finishing, "it's not what it looks like."

It was most definitely what it looked like, I thought as I ran to my cabin to pack my things all of the campers shooting glares in my direction. Before I continue with this story I should probably back up to explain something.

Everything started to go wrong when my half-brother, Michael, came to the camp being chased by two hellhounds about five years ago. I was the one who was on border patrol at the time so I took out Riptide and slew the two monsters without a second thought. As I turned to Michael he did the unthinkable and disarmed me, I stood there stunned as Annabeth came up with Chiron and more campers.

"He tried to kill me," Michael had said right before a trident appeared above his head

Obviously, nobody believed him at that time but as the years went by things got worse. He pulled off pranks that I would never do because they usually risked people getting hurt and put the blame on me. He stole things and hid them on my side of the cabin so that I could have the blame again. Soon enough the everyone hated me aside from my Wise Girl, Neeks, Pinecone Face and G-man

Now all that was left was Thalia, Grover, and Nico who were on their own adventures. What made things worse was that I didn't have anyone to go to since mom and Paul were murdered while we were fighting Gaea almost six years ago. No one has found the murderer ever since I found them after the war, not only do I have to mourn Leo's death, but I had to mourn theirs too. Poseidon didn't even come to offer his condolences

"I'm leaving," I said to Peleus, the dragon who was protecting the Golden Fleece that I got all those years ago. "I don't know when I'll be back or if I ever will but I know that I'm not welcome here anymore," I sighed. "Keep the camp safe for me buddy," I said as I patted the dragon on his head as he huffed

I began walking down Half-Blood Hill but as usual, whenever a demigod leaves camp, they are stopped by something. The portal the formed right in front of me knocked me off my feet as I reached into my pocket to grab Riptide

"There's no need for the Perseus Jackson," the man who stepped out of the portal said

I winced not only at his commanding voice but at the fact that he used my full name. "Over here," I said, raising my hand as I got to my feet, "before you continue three things," I said. "The first being it's Percy," I began ticking it off on my fingers, "the second is what do you want, and the third is who the Hades are you?"

The man chuckled as he looked at my confused expression as I held out my hands in the classic look of confusion. "I am the creator," he began, "you can call me Chaos but I am here to recruit you."

"What for," I asked as I crossed my arms, the gods had always wanted to recruit me for something whether it be godhood or cleaning the stables. I didn't want to do any of it since I still had a home then.

"To lead an army," Chaos began, I opened my mouth to object but he held up a finger. "Before you object let me clarify," he said with a smirk, "you will be leading an army of people that you choose. These people will be taken from their usual posts if they are still living or being revived. Before you ask I have talked to Hades about it and he stated that he'd turn a blind eye to anyone who goes missing," he finished as I thought for a minute

"I could choose anyone for this army," I began in thought

"Any demigod living or dead," the creator answered as I looked up at the sky already thinking of two of the people I wanted to bring back. Both of whom died on the same quest

"I'll go," I said as the creator arched an eyebrow

"Are you sure," he said as I nodded, "why if you don't mind me asking."

"Everyone at camp hates me," I began as I looked behind me, "I just found my girlfriend cheating on me with my jerk of a half-brother. The only others that would probably trust me still are off on adventures of their own. My mother and stepfather are dead so I have no other place to go and no one left to trust."

The creator's lips thinned into a grim line, "So be it," he said, "any questions?"

"Just one," I said as the creator cocked his head, "when do I start because I have a lot of people on my mind?"
