Chapter 1- Running

Laura Smith was seated at the back of the bus alone with a hood covering her head. She remembers the last few months. She has been on the run from her ex- husband. She had married Chris after the death of her grandparents in a car accident. Having lost her mom at birth and her dad at seven, Laura was raised by her grandparents and their loss left her emotionally vulnerable and that was when Chris who handled her grandfather's account came into her life. He became her support and 8 months after their death, she and Chris got married. However, Chris turned out to be what she never imagined- a cheat and an abusive husband who was only after her wealth which her grandparents left behind. She was able to get a divorce from him after much struggle but it never ment she was safe from him. Even a court order couldn't keep him away. She finally left Luketown after her personal bodyguard was killed. She has been on the run from him ever since. He won't be able to find her as long as she doesn't withdraw from her account, but she is running out of cash and needs to get money urgently.
