"What do you mean? You didn't want me to come back?" Confused, he asked me, sounding baffled.

Shaking my head furiously, I replied quickly. "N- no, that's not what I mean. But why are you here?"

"I promised you guys I would come back to take you, didn't I? Then how could I not come back?" Not understanding me or my questions, he replied, a puzzled look marring his features.

"Oh really?" Folding my hands and raising a brow, - which he obviously couldn't see due to my niqab - I inquired, not being able to believe him.

"Yeah!"

"So is it just because of a mere promise that you came back and not because you yourself wanted to?" Wiping a finger under my nose, I implored, hating the idea that he just felt bounded to me because of some promise and not anything else.
