Chapter 67

"This is killing me. I'm literally going to die." I groan as the alarm clock goes off waking Jackson and I up for work.

"You're being dramatic." He laughs.

"Shut up." I sigh as I sit up.

"Okay grumpy. Do you want coffee?" He smiles.

"Yes, please." I say. We both get ready for work, before going down stairs and eating breakfast and drinking our coffee, then leaving for the hospital. As soon as I get dressed in my scrubs, I'm paged for a emergency craniotomy surgery and after I finish I go to an on-call room to take a nap.

"Hey beautiful." Jackson smiles walking into the on-call room and closing the door behind him before laying in the bed beside me, shortly after I lay down.

"Hey handsome." I smile as he kisses me. "You know, I already see where this is going and I'm going to already let you know we're not having sex. I came in here to get sleep. I'm exhausted." I sigh.

"Come on. Having sex will get rid of all your problems." He smirks.

"No it won't." I laugh.

"But it'll put you in a good mood." He says.

"That it will." I smile as he starts back kissing me, taking my shirt off as we begin to have a little fun.

"That was amazing." I say out of breath after we finish.

"It was. You want to go again?" He smiles.

"Of course." I smile as we start back kissing.

"Oh my god." I gasp as the door opens and Catherine walks in making us both rush to pull the sheets over us. I had totally forgotten that she was even still in town since Richard is still in the hospital because of the injuries he suffered when he was electrocuted.

"Hi mom." Jackson says awkwardly.

"Hi, Mrs. Avery." I sigh not making eye contact with her as she shakes her head at us. To call this moment awkward would be an understatement, I mean I don't even know the words to describe how it feels to have your mother in law walk into the room when you're having sex with your husband.

"I came to get pillows for Richard, but since you two seem to be enjoying this room a little too much, I'll just get them from another room." She says beginning to walk out of the room before stopping. "Next time I see you two, I expect that you'll both be clothed."

"You were supposed to lock the door." I say slapping his arm.

"I thought I did." He sighs still cringing from what just happened.

"Well your mothers never gonna look at me the same now." I sigh as I get up to start getting dressed.

"Where are you going?" He asks.

"To get some work done, so your mother won't think that the only thing I do while I'm here is have sex." I say.

"But we weren't done." He says.

"Jackson we were done as soon as Catherine walked in the room." I say before walking out of the on-call room.

"What's wrong with you?" Derek asks as I walk to the front desk.

"Catherine just walked in on Jackson and I having sex." I sigh laying my head on the desk in embarrassment.

"Really?" He laughs.

"Derek Shepherd this isn't funny. She's never going to think of me the same." I whine.

"Well if it makes you feel any better my A.V.M. surgery with Robbin's got moved up to today, so I'm giving you my lumboperitoneal shunt placement surgery."

"I guess that helps a little. I mean if anything can take my mind off of my embarrassment it's saving lives." I say.

"That's the spirit." He says before walking away. I go meet Stephanie, who's on my service today before we go on rounds. Once we finish rounds, I go prep my patient for the shunt placement before going to the O.R. to operate. The surgery is fairly simple so it only takes me 2 hours to finish, then we take the patient to recovery.

"Liliana, dear. Would you come join us?" Catherine says motioning for me to come over to the nurses station where her and Jackson were standing.

"Of course." I mumble walking over to them.

"Now as I was telling Jackson, I like sex just as much as the next person..." She begins to say.

"Oh god." Jackson and I both cringe.

"But there is a time and a place. You two not only represent the Avery family, but you're also board members and surgeons. You need to act like it when you're at this hospital." She says scolding us.

"Of course, I understand where you're coming from and it won't happen again." I lie just so she'll drop the topic.

"Good, now if you'll excuse me. I have to get back to Richard." She says walking away.

"I hate you so much for not locking that door this morning." I sigh.

"Believe me I wish I had of." He sighs as my pager goes off.

"I have to go." I say before walking away.

"You paged 912." I say to Derek, meeting him as he scrubs in for his surgery. 912 is the special code Derek and I page each other if we have a non work related emergency.

"Yeah, this A.V.M. surgery is going to take longer than expected and I have to entertain all of these people that came here to document this surgery for the rest of the day and Meredith is doing a heart liver transplant with Cristina, which is going to take a while also, so I was wondering if you could pick the kids up from daycare and take them home with you and Jackson this evening and we'll pick them up as soon as we get off." He says.

"Yeah, of course." I smile.

"Thanks your a life saver." He smiles.

"I know." I laugh.

"Oh, and Meredith promised Zola a princess tea party, so can you do tea?"

"Derek, I do not have a tea party set just sitting around the house." I say.

"Improvise. You're smart, you'll figure something out." He smiles walking into the O.R. before I can reply.

"He did not just do that." I mumble to myself, before leaving to go to the lounge for lunch.

"What's wrong with him?" I ask Meredith and Jackson as I walk into the lounge as Alex is storming out.

"Beats me." Jackson says.

"Did Derek ask you if you could pick up the kids today?" She asks.

"Yeah, we already discussed it." I say to her.

"Did he tell you that you need to give Zola a princess tea party. I promised her one this morning, so it has to happen. I can't break promises. Once I start the cycle I'll turn into my mother and next thing you know in ten years Zola will be snorting oxy behind the school to escape her troubled home life." She says.

"Mer, you're over reacting, I've got this. The kids are going to have a great time and Zola will get her tea party." I say.

"Yeah, you know Zola loves being at our house anyways." Jackson smiles.

"Because you two spoil her." Meredith says.

"We do." I smile before Jackson's pager goes off.

"I have to go assist my mom in surgery, should be fun." He says sarcastically, giving me a kiss before he leaves. I stay in the the lounge to eat, before leaving for my tumor resection surgery. As soon as I finish I meet Jackson and we go to the daycare to pick up Zola and Bailey and take them home.

"You tired?" Jackson laughs as I collapse into the bed beside him.

"Yes, who knew a simple tea party took so much energy." I laugh. Meredith and Derek had came to pick up Zola and Bailey not to long ago, after Jackson and I kept them for a couple of hours and we were definitely both exhausted.

"You know, I can't wait until we have kids of our own one day." He smiles wrapping his arms around me.

"Me either. How many kids do you want?" I ask.

"Four." He answers.

"Avery, we are not having four kids." I laugh.

"How many were you thinking?" He smiles.

"Two." I say.

"Twos a good number, but I still say four."

"Not gonna happen Avery." I say.

"Yes it will. You just don't know it yet." He jokes.

"Whatever you say, Avery. Whatever you say." I laugh, before we both doze off and fall asleep.
