Celeste cut through the air like a sharp knife and floated through it like a weightless feather. She doesn't even know where she is fleeting to nor where she's going to end up.
The only thing her hazy, blurry mind can grasp is that she is past the high wall of Atelah. Despite it being a really hard task not getting into the view of palace guards she has fled past the palace threshold.
Did Delian go into her chamber and find out she was not in there? Will he be coming for her?
Her mouth goes dry at the thought. Her heart clenched in fear inside her chest. Celeste drags her tongue down on her dry lips before gulping the rock of uncertainty down her dry throat.
The darkness had blanketed the valleys and forest. Even the air is dark and will be scary for an ordinary human. But she found salvation in it.
The sky is dark and with no stars to scatter across its expanse nor the almighty moon to slither her glistening rays down but to who? The vampires are forbidden from her love and presence, not that they even needed it.
She will burn them with her beam.
A crunching noise of dry leaves, then a shuffling behind the bushes has Celeste halt in her movement. Her eyes gleamed red as they traveled across the tree and waited for the animal— which she is sure— to come out.
With sharpened ears and an undying thirst for blood, she watched the white rabbit coming out of the rabbit hole inside the bushes. In a blink of an eye, she was in front of the bush and had the neck of the poor animal in her grasp.
Celeste lifted the squirming rabbit in her hands and held it in a position that didn't hurt the animal. "I'm sorry little one but I think you can help me with something here, mm? Can't you now?"
Celeste's fingers dip into the cloudy fur of the rabbit as she soothed the frightened little one. "I really don't want to hurt you but we have no other way."
A squeak came out of the white ball of fur and it withered from her grip when Celeste's fags sink into the skin around its neck.
Celeste's eyes fell shut as the ecstasy traveled inside her veins like an electric wave. The taste of blood… oh she didn't know she longed for it until now that she finally had a taste of it again.
"Owh! That was good! Thanks, sweety." The rabbit's fur tickled her nose when she murdered it to its ear. Sticking her tongue out she slid it over the wound, sealing the wound for the pain to not surface again, nose crunching when she felt the threads of white gluing to her tongue.
Celeste lowers the animal into the grass which gladly slides out of her grasp and gets into the safeness of its home.
Funny that she is the only one who doesn't have a home now. Not a safe one at that.
She stood there and watched even after there was no sign of the rabbit again. She wishes she had a place like that to hide from the evil hands of the nobility and all the facades of love that lures her into its awaiting arms.
Celeste really, really, wishes to dig a hole right now and here to crawl in and find the safety she craves.
As if reality slapped her on her face she was startled from her thoughts. Wide crystally blue eyes glisten in the pitch darkness of the woods as she looks around her.
How much does she have to travel again to find a place she can temporarily stay? She's already so many miles away from the palace that much she knows.
A sigh slithered past her open lips as she pulled on the hood of her cloth to cover her head. Because even though she doesn't know how much it takes for her to entirely get out of the boundaries of Atelah, but she knows when she does she will have to cover herself up to not burn into ashes from the moonlight.
Celeste tosses her head backward, eyes trained on the night sky. Her jaw falls shut as she again, blends into the darkness as she slashes through the air even faster than she did a moment before.
Getting blood into her system sure did wonders.
