Alex stood by Nathan all the time, she noticed her sister and Roy deep in conversation while Becca seemed to be enjoying her food.
Her father had been invited too and was laughing and chatting with Mr Livingston.
"Are you okay, love? You lost colour" he whispered.
She gazed at him, "Am okay, just not used to being the centre of attention"
He smiled, "If they are making you nervous then look at me instead"
Her eyes sparkled and Nathan chuckled seeing her look away.
"You can't be shy right now," he said.
Alex turned back to him, "Am not...." Nathan kissed her and Alex's face blushed instantly, while her eyes opened wide in surprise.
He laughed, "Better, your face is lovely with a little pink"
Alex playfully slapped his chest, "You're embarrassing me"
"Am not, I just wanted to help" he laughed.
"But...this isn't helping," she said.
He bent closer to her, "So that wasn't enough" before Alex could argue Nathan's hand was at her neck as he bent closer to her.
She knew what he wanted to do and didn't pull away letting her body obey his touch.
Their lips met and the warmth from his spread to hers, silencing all the fear and anxiety she had been feeling. Her nervous body called down as her brain now only thought about what his lips were doing to hers.
His fingers softly grabbed her hair kissing deeper, he felt her hands move to his waist under his coat holding on.
Alex felt the hit of alcohol from his mouth when his tongue opened her lips, sweet with the scent of roses. She smiled kissing him back.
"Excuse me," a little voice said.
Nathan heard but didn't stop kissing Alex. But it came again and he frowned slowly pulling away. Alex who wanted to complain breathed when she saw Becca standing in front of them.
"What is it Becca," Nathan asked in a cold voice still holding Alex.
"They are here," she said.
He sighed moving his eyes to the guests who all seemed to be looking at them.
"Okay," he said. Becca walked back leaving them alone.
Turning to Alex he smiled, "I would love to continue but we have to attend this event too"
They got up walking to where his father was.
"Good evening gentlemen," he said. Alex's smiled at his father. She didn't look up at the two men.
"It's good you're here, the Hurks wanted to talk to us about some business plans" his father announced.
Nathan gazed at James and his father, his eyes were on Alex filled with shock and surprise.
"I would appreciate it if you didn't stare at my girlfriend like that," said Nathan.
James looked up at him, "Am sorry, it's just that she looks familiar" he said.
Nathan felt her nails dig into his arm as he said. Alex was scared he could feel it.
"I know she is beautiful but please don't stare at her like that. I hate it" he sternly said.
"Our apologies Nathan, my son isn't well-mannered," his father said
"This is my girlfriend, Alex White" he introduced.
Alex looked at them both with a smile, "Nice meeting you again Mr Hurks" she said
"Alex, you mean it's your Alex White from the White family" he smiled.
She nodded.
"You have grown into a beautiful young woman," James's father said.
"Thank you" she smiled.
"Alex told me about her college days, your son seemed to be close to her," Nathan said.
James moved his eyes to Nathan with fear as he shook his head, "Close not really. We just shared a few classes" he stammered.
Alex noticed his reaction and glanced at Nathan, James Seemed to be so scared. He was standing next to her handsomely with a calm yet cold face.
"Love it seems he doesn't remember you," he said to her. She smiled, "it's okay, I was quiet during classes so most of them won't remember me"
"Hmm, okay. Excuse us then" Nathan held her waist and walked away.
He could hear Mr Hurks trying to stop him but he played deaf leading Alex to where her sister and Becca were.
