Chapter 18: The Real Athena

It woke me up when I heard someone knocking in the door. It was Yaya Helena.

“My dear, your parents are looking for you in dining area so I can’t been able to bring the food here now.” She whispered.

“Alright Yaya, I’ll go next to you.” I responded in a poiite manner while still lying in bed. Later, I got up.

“Thaea is already here!" Dad mentioned as he saw me walking towards them.

“Eat first.” Offering me some meal on the table while Mom continued chewing her food.

Until now, she’s not yet moving on of what I said to her. Whatever I did, it can’t match me with Athena to their sight.

“Hm, my precious daughter?” My father spoke for a moment, thus I turned to him.

“What’s that?” I said, without leaning on them.

“Are you sure honey about your idea?” I heard my mother asking my father in a sudden. It confused me that would stop from eating for a while.

I inquired, "What is it all about?"

"We just wanted to keep this a secret first and surely, no one could find about this. You’ll promise us that you remain it a secret.” Father told in a serious statement but I frowned.

“I’ll promise that I won’t say it to anyone.” He took a deep breath before continued what my dad want to say

“Your twin is finally awakened!” It alarmed me when I heard that.

“When it happened?” I speculated.

“Actually, she’s primarily alright in a few months ago. It could be the reason why your Mom and were not here at home for long. We stayed there to check the condition of your sister and to join with her momentarilly.” As Dad explaining to me.

“So you lied that you were on a business trip?” I said in a minor frustration. Why didn’t they tell me right away so that I could get out of my system now and fixed this easily.

“It’s just for the sake of your twin and yours, too.” My mom interrupted but in a calm tone.

“Make sure nobody will notice about your sister's condition until her recovery. Do you understand, Althaea?” She reminding me with an authority. I nodded in response.

“How is she?” I asked Dad.

"Athena needs to stay there for the better, but she has already ok now.” He replied thereafter.

“Can I see her?” My parents stunned of what I have said. I simply want to visit my twin for good. We haven't seen very longer.

“No. It might be someone will follow you and find out our secret. The company is just starting for recovery, Althaea.” My father added.

“I’ll be carefull if you want. I’ll leave this mansion early at 4AM in the morning. No one can notice about this. I want to meet my sister and talk to her.” As trying to convince them that I really want to.

“Ok but should be careful.” Dad reminded me.

“Don’t ruin our plans, Thaea. You may do.” My mother strictly added.

“Yes, I assure to it you, Mom and Dad.”

After the dinner and talking with my parents, I immediately went to the bedroom to prepare the things should I bring for tomorrow.

Three in the morning when started to get up and took some shower to get myself ready.

I only had eaten cup noodles for breakfast before decided to leave our home using Athena’s car. After a few hours of driving, I finally arrived to my destination.

There seems nervousness I felt inside but I don’t know why. However, I should be happy to see my twin alive. It took my breath deeply before entered the house.

Unexpectedly, all maids here greeted me and the several workers.

I greeted them back before I asked, “Where is she?”

“She’s waiting for you upstairs, Ma’am Althaea.” They replied, so I hurriedly proceed to the place where that Athena waited for me.

I see her standing over there. I didn’t hesitate to call my sister.

“Thena.” I uttered. She looks surprised when she saw me.

“Oh Thaea. Long time no see!” Athena said while kissing each other’s cheeks.

“They told me you were coming, so I woke up early too just to see you right away. You’re still really my twin.” She grinned. “You still not changed.”

“Why would I?” I stated.

She is always observing my old-style appearance since we were kids.

“Nevermind that, Thaea. Anyway, how is my boyfriend?” It made me stop and can’t reply to her seriously in a second.

“He’s fine. Don’t worry about him. He is already changed a lot too. I thought you will both become better.” I answered incredulously.

“Is it true? Oh nice. He can easily tamed by now for sure.” She said while offering me something to drink but I felt anxious.

“What do you mean?” I asked her in astonishment.

“Greige at that time was not the person you could easily be pleased. He was not that guy, you know.” She replied. “Despite, thanks my dear sister because you transformed him into a new one. Maybe he’s not currently workaholic just like before?” Athena asked again.

“I’m not really sure, but you’ll love him even more. He was a very caring boyfriend now.” I stated however, it squeezed my heart into several pieces. The guy you loved is owned by someone else.

“I’m excited to see him but still have to wait a few days.” Her responses with a chuckle while I was keeping calm of myself with our conversation. “What are your plans after these?” She interrogates me and I gazes at her before answering.

“I will return to my previous life I had in Manila together with Gin and Zen. I will also start my job there.”

“So you won’t stay here for long with me?” I just nodded in response. “Furthermore, when are you leaving?” She asked.

“Maybe when I’m back at mansion after here.” I answered her quickly.

“I missed him so much. I’m super excited to see Greige too.” As Athena said.

When I got to my temporary room, I tried to open my phone for checking if there’s some text messages. It suddenly stunned me when it received some came from Greige. He seems worried about me. No, to my sister. I often to assume that Greige will have feelings for me too.

Erase. This is not right time to think of. I must have given up on him for Athena.

A few minutes have passed, I felt sleepy. I turned off the phone before closing my eyes. Afterwards, when someone knocked on the door and called me outside of my room to eat our meal.

I saw Athena currently eating her lunch. She stopped when she had seen me walking in her direction.

“Did I disturb your sleep?” My sister asked me as her opening conversation.

After we had our lunch, Athena invited me to watch a movie. I viewed that CD and it was a romantic story entitled, I Love You Goodbye by Kathryn Bernardo and Alden Richard.

“Mom and dad told me about your impersonation for him as his girlfriend. It saves me because of that. I don’t want him to know the truth about this and to you also.” She said as we are watching the movie.

“Thank you for caring my boyfriend, Thaea and changing him into a nice guy." She added as she turned to me. I just smiled in response and remained listening on her.

Several minutes have passed, Athena invited me to go swimming in the pool. I have disagreed, but she insisted me to join with her.

“Althaea, please? This is the time we are together, right?” Athena said with the pleasing voice.

“No.” I denied, but my eyes keep turning around for perceiving something.

“Oh, come on Athena. Don’t deny it. I know you already. We are twins, aren’t you?” Athena chuckled at my side while it feels me uncomfortable.

My sister allowed me to wear what really comfortable me since she wears a suit fits to her body curve. I am a woman, but was still amazed when I saw her like that.

“I have missed Greige so much. I want to see him right now but I have to wait for weeks perhaps to be with him.” As she started the conversation after we go up from the pool. I tried to be calm as I heard those. I don’t want my sister know about my feelings to her boyfriend. I don’t want to ruin our relationship because of that guy.

“Should not hurry. You will see him soon and will gonna be surprised about Greige of today. He’s better right now than recently.” I commented and looked at her.

“I feel the excitement very well.” Athena said with a great happiness on her face. I smiled and grab the drinks have delivered by one of the maids here.

Afterwards, we both decided to go back inside the house because it was already cold outside. I closed the door before I took the shower and lay my body in bed to think the conversations with Athena about Greige. I can’t help but allowed myself to pour my tears while my eyes keep viewing the ceilings of the room.
