After having finally finished her test, she realized that she couldn't just decide to have her voice be fixed all of a sudden, so she continued her act into the test. When the test was done, she returned to her dorm and decided to call it a break and have lunch at the cafeteria with Yuu and the others.
Lotus breathed a small sigh and said with a sigh in a cracked voice, "Finally, that's done with..."
Deuce breathed a sigh of relief as he picked up his fork and began to chew away on the pasta. Lotus picked up her chopsticks and went ahead to consume her plate of potstickers. Despite how tired he was, Yuu said to her with worry, "Try not to speak too much. I'm sure your voice is still in the process of changing, right?"
Lotus nodded with a silent sigh of exasperation. Ace sighed as he stuffed a corner of egg sandwich into his mouth and grumbled, "Just one note from the nurse office sent so many seniors after you. If it was like this, you probably should've just gone and gave the note to the teachers before class started!"
Deuce just silently stuffed his mouth with the food as he said with a smile, "At least, the tests are over..."
Lotus yawned before she wrote down something onto her notebook and handed it to Grim.
"Hm? What is this? Bah... I'm already too dizzy to read anymore..." Grim snatched it with annoyance and gave the paper a quick gaze before his eyes went wide in bewilderment, "G-geh?!"
"Hm? What's wrong?" Ace looked over to Grim curiously.
"N-Nothing!" Grim slapped a smile on his face as he continued, "Let's eat! Eat!"
Saying this, he stuffed grilled chicken into his mouth as Yuu looked to Lotus in confusion but froze.
"What's up with him?" Ace grumbled in confusion before glancing over to Lotus and noticed the mysterious smile on her face with a shudder, "Gah... What is he up to now?"
Lotus, however, didn't respond.
.....
With classes almost completely done, Lotus was following Yuu to their next class in the hall...
"Stop right there, Grim! I'm not gonna let this slide today of all days!" Ace shouted as he chased after Grim with a scowl.
Grim was running on all fours as he teased him with his usual overconfident smirk, "Haha, sucker. You should write your name on it!"
"Why you!!" Ace screamed in frustration.
"Another fight?" Yuu sighed in exasperation.
Lotus raised a brow as she noticed Deuce coming out after them to his confusion as she asked him, "Ah, Deuce. Could you tell us what happened this time?"
Deuce shook his head with a sigh as he grumbled in exasperation as well, "They'll never give it a rest, will they."
Hearing their voices, Ace stopped chasing after Grim and causing a scene. He rushed over to them with a scowl, "Ah, Prefect! If you're really a prefect then properly watch over your residents!"
"So, what did Grim do this time?" Lotus questioned to which Grim's ears flicked and spun around with wide eyes of bewilderment.
"This jerk went and stole the bread I set aside for a snack again!" Ace answered as he pointed at Grim in the hall.
"That's rude to say I stole it." Grim responded quickly with a scowl at him, "I just happened to eat it after it fell on your desk."
"You don't say things 'fell on' someone's desk when they were purposely set there, y'know!" Ace snapped at him with a glare, "Running away like the thief you are. I'll show you with my wind magic..."
Ace stomped his feet and pulled out pen with a scowl.
"Oh, you wanna go? I'll hit right back with my fire magic..." Grim glared back at him as he grabbed a hold of his collar.
"H-H-Hold on-!" Yuu was about to intervene to which Lotus just grabbed a hold of his shoulder much to the prefect's bewilderment as he looked back to her in confusion.
"...Ah!"
For some reason, the two suddenly gasped as if recalling something and stepped back. Ace quickly spoke up awkwardly, "... You know what, let's knock it off with the magic. It would be a huge pain to have to clean windows again as punishment."
"He heh." Grim chuckled awkwardly, "You say smart things every once in a while. It'd be pretty immature for me to be the only one using magic so I'll let you off the hook this time."
"... Huuuh?" Yuu stared at them in disbelief.
Deuce narrowed his eyes in suspicions as he noted curiously, 'It's rare for you two to stop on your own. Usually it takes the headmaster jumping in after you've burned the classroom black to end your fights."
"No sweat?" Ace responded as if spatting out his words, "I'd look like a dumbass throwing hands over bread with a raccoon."
"Come again?!" Grim shouted in dismay as he glared at him, "You really don't know when to shut up!"
"Grim, do you want the headmaster to come, after all?" Yuu reminded the cat with a frown of disapproval.
"But..."
"Enough." Lotus sighed and picked up Grim before he could do anything stupid, "If you don't have anything to fight with, then don't pick a fight at all in the first place, idiot."
"F-Fgnah!" Grim cried out in bewilderment.
Lotus turned to them, "Come on. It's time for our last class. Mister Crewel is waiting for us. I need to see how well this guy did too..."
"F-F-Fgnah..." Grim whined and shivered with fear as he was carried into the room like a bag of flour.
.....
"Time to start class, puppies." Crewel announced to them as he picked up the papers to hand back to them, "Sit like good little pups. First up, I'll return your tests."
"It's finally time." Deuce slammed a fist into his palm next to her.
"Nyaha! Test return!" Grim cheered, "Come on, teach!"
"Grim, calm yourself." Crewel took out his teaching pointer and pointed to the cat with a firm voice behind the smile, "Stay, stay!!"
Seeing Grim obediently return to his seat swiftly instead of dancing on the table, Crewel looked over the papers before he announced to them, "Come get your tests in student number order. Number one!"
One by one, students were called to the front of the class as Crewel handed them their papers back. It wasn't long before Ace and the others soon received their scores as Ace cheered, "Hooray! 92 points!"
"88 points!" Deuce's eyes widen in shock, "I-I can't believe there would be a day I score over 80..."
Seeing his accomplishment, Lotus smirked, "Great job, Deuce! Now, you just need to work harder."
"Of course!" Deuce said in near tears.
"Grim?" Lotus turned to him, who ended up smiling and cheered.
"Look, Prefect! Lotus! I score 85 points!!!" The cat said with a wide smile.
"That's amazing, everyone!" Yuu laughed as he patted Grim's head with a wide smile.
"I guess..." Lotus muttered with a frown before writing the rest of her thoughts out, "Coming this far from being illiterate... I guess it was all right. But, I still think you could have scored a ninety."
"What?!" Grim scowled at her accusingly, "An 85 isn't enough to satisfy your expectations?!"
Lotus sighed and wrote down her words on the paper to Grim, "You had all the help around you to get a 90 or a 89 at least. Still, I didn't say an 85 was a bad score either and you were already close to my idea score. Fine. I'll double your can of tuna tonight."
"Yipee!!!" Grim cheered.
"So, what did you get, Lotus?" Yuu questioned curiously.
"Geh. Do you really have to ask? He probably got the highest scores again..." Ace responded in frustration, "He turned in the paper in less than thirty minutes..."
Lotus sighed before showing her test paper to them.
"What?!" Ace grumbled, "A hundred?"
"It's not even just a full mark..." Yuu pointed out in bewilderment, "He even got those extra credits again..."
"Seriously..." Ace sighed in disappointment, "Dang it. I thought it'd be high, but full marks and extra credit? Wait..."
He stared at her in bewilderment, "A-a-again?!"
Yuu sighed and shook his head in defeat, "He provided a full essay in the writing response in the History of Magic and got a full score in Arithematics class. He then got a full marks in literature but missed a couple of the extra credit points from the reading comprehension."
"Are you a monster? No, really! Just how smart are you?" Ace stared at her in horror, "And now here you are in potions class with another full mark again..."
"This means I won't have to repeat a year...!" Deuce cheered silently to himself as he had already been lost in his own world and ignored his own surroundings till he noticed the teacher walking over.
Crewel walked over to them as the other students chatted about their scores and said to Yuu's group with a smile, "It seems like you all studied a lot for this exam. It's completely different from your quizzes..."
"Actually, it's strange for the average to increase this much." Crewel soon added with eyes narrowed in suspicions.
"Eh, it's strange..." Ace raised a brow, "What do you mean, Mister Crewel?"
"The average test score for potions is over 90 in all grades." Crewel explained bluntly with a frown, "I heard from Mister Trein that the results in history were also fairly good."
"Eeh?!" Deuce called out in bewilderment with wide eyes.
"F-fgnah!"
Ace frowned, "I've got a really bad feeling..."
Crewel shook his head with an exasperated sigh before announcing, "The 50 students with the highest test scores will be posted in the hallway so look forward to it. Let's begin class. Open your texts."
