Rowan changed back on the evening of October 3rd.
He changed his clothes and walked out of the bedroom.
The living room, which had been neat and clean, was in disarray, with empty bags of chips and half-drunk bottles of soda on the couch.
The person who started it all was immersed in a game with headphones on, yelling every now and then.
"Busted head! Still trying to fight me, go go go here comes the poison, run for the poison!"
Rowan shouted a few times, but Mason didn't respond. He could only raise his hand and take Mason's headset off.
Mason raised his head, "Crap!!! Brother you ..."
He hastily covered his mouth and turned off the game's built-in mic before continuing, "You've changed back."
"Uh-huh." Rowan nodded and briefly gathered up the peels and takeout bags from the coffee table and threw them in the trash, "Did you order takeout yet?"
Mason shook his head, "Not yet, play forgot ..."
Rowan was not surprised to hear this answer, he looked sideways in the direction of the refrigerator, and then looked down at the time displayed on his cell phone, "Then let's go out for a trip, go out to eat, and buy some vegetables and fruits on the way."
"Yeah! I want to eat barbecue!" Mason happily raised his hand, "Wait, wait until I finish this one."
"Uh-huh."
Rowan sat down on the side of the couch as well, took out his cell phone and opened WeChat, staring at one of the chat windows and began to stare.
In the past few days, he had been torn between whether or not to confess to Selene. After all, in the beginning, he had his own concerns and did not want to have any excessive interactions with her, which is why he chose to conceal it, but now his mindset has shifted.
Just ...Rowan again considered that if he could not change back, confessing would only increase Selene's panic.
Her life is hardly on track now, and her career as a cute pet blogger was doing well, so he didn't really want her to know this kind of bad news.
But now that he'd changed back, a confession was on the agenda.
But how to confess?
Rowan felt a bit of a headache. He was very bad at this kind of thing. He always felt that if he said it in person, not only would it be difficult to find the right time, he would also find it difficult to explain the causes and consequences in one breath.
However, if he didn't say it face to face, but sent a message through his cell phone, it would appear that he didn't take this matter seriously at all, and affect Selene's perception of him.
Was there any form that could synthesize it?
"Okay, brother go! Eh, wake up ..."
Mason put his hand in front of Rowan's eyes and shook it.
Rowan finally came back to his senses and he stood up, "Let's go."
The two walked towards the front door.
Rowan had just stepped outside when he saw the door across the street open as well.
"Selene" appeared in the doorway, an orange cat at her feet.
If you look at them now, you will realize that the "Selene" and the real Selene don't look exactly the same, there are many subtle differences, but in general, if you are not familiar with them, you will not be able to accurately distinguish between them.
Mason, for example, apparently didn't recognize them.
And Rowan wasn't familiar with them to recognize them. It was just because as a painter, his observation of things was beyond normal. He didn't see them before, just because he didn't focus on Selene.
As soon as Mason saw the one person and one cat on the opposite side of the street, he excitedly ran over: ''Sister Selene! Where are you going? Have you eaten dinner yet? Do you want to go eat together?"
"Whoo! Cute little orange, I finally met you! Meow meow meow ..."
Selene instantly took two steps backward and hid behind Faye.
She still enjoyed dealing with Mason when he was a human. After all, her brother was lively, cheerful and polite, but when he was a cat, she kind of disliked him.
Too dense with words and unfriendly to the sensitive ears of cats and kittens.
But ...Selene poked her head out a little more curiously and looked in a certain direction.
There was someone she hadn't seen in a long time, and she'd almost forgotten what he looked like.
Selene cast her line of sight to the youth standing quietly to the side. He did not wear any metal jewelry this time, just wore very simple everyday clothing, light-colored wear neutralized the sharpness brought about by the delicate features, amplifying the kind of refreshingly loose temperament on his body, appearing to be very gentle and harmless, and at first glance it does look like a very neighborly brother.
I have to say, it's quite nice to have a handsome man living next door, at least it's pleasing to the eyes when you see him.
Selene sighed in her heart while shifting her eyes upwards, and in a flash she met a pair of slightly probing eyes.
...
Selene instantly withdrew her gaze and ducked behind Faye again, bumping her head against Faye's calf to remind her to go and perfume her neighbor.
Faye was not wanting to deal with the pair of brothers across the street at all.
But it couldn't be helped, they just happened to run into each other, and it was too raw to pretend they didn't see them.
"Going to a friend's house downstairs, ate, no need." Faye replied unnaturally as she changed her shoes.
"Oh..! You've made friends so quickly, not bad for you!" Mason revealed a look of great emotion, followed by a glance in Rowan's direction, "Unlike my brother, living over here for so long, I guess no one's seen him a few times, let alone made friends."
Faye then turned her attention to Rowan's body, "I ... What's that? Isn't your brother on a business trip? Back?"
"Yeah, just got back." Mason nodded, "This time he's coming back he's going to take me out for a big meal, gorgeous~"
"Oh, then you guys are quite affectionate." Faye nodded expressionlessly and lifted her camera bag, "Then I won't bother you guys, I'll leave first."
Mason pressed the elevator button aggressively, "We just happen to be going downstairs as well, let's take the elevator together."
Seeing this, Faye also had no choice but to pick up the orange cat on the floor and enter the elevator.
Fortunately, it was only going down one floor, and the time was too short, so there was no need to make small talk with people they didn't know well.
As soon as the elevator door opened, Faye quickly stepped out of the elevator, even forgetting to say goodbye.
That hurried back was like meeting something dirty.
The elevator door slowly closed.
Mason turned his head, his face full of shock: "Brother, I've been gone for a month, why do you two neighbors still look as if you're not familiar with each other at all ah, didn't she even come to your house to take care of you?"
Rowan raised his hand and rubbed his brow, helplessly saying, "I'm going to correct you on one point, she was taking care of 'my dog', not me."
Mason froze for a moment, "Is there a difference between those two ..."
"Oh, there seems to be a difference, she's obviously more interested in hitching a ride with your dog than you are."
Rowan: "..."
That's all he had to say redundantly.

Faye rings the doorbell on Linda's doorstep.
But strangely, after ringing the doorbell several times, no one came to the door.
Selene took the cell phone Faye handed her and sent a message to Linda.
After a while, Linda messaged back.
[Linda: Selene, I'm not at home today. I decided to go to my boyfriend's house yesterday to visit his parents. I was too nervous to visit for the first time. I forgot to tell you, I'm sorry! I'm sorry for making you come all the way here for nothing.]
[Selene: It's okay, it's just upstairs and downstairs anyway, your side of things is important, let's talk about it when you get home.]
[Linda: Uh-huh.]
"Where did Linda go?" Faye asked curiously.
"Visiting her date's parents."
"Oh." Faye nodded in understanding, "That's right, she's usually busy with work, doing something important like this is kind of rushed, and it's kind of fitting that she's taking a long vacation for the 4th of July now."
"What about you?"
"What about me?" Faye stepped into the elevator again and pressed the button for the nineteenth floor.
"It's hard to get a vacation, aren't you going out with your friends?"
"... Same here." Faye was thoughtful, "I haven't been back to Heron City in a while, and there's a high school reunion tomorrow, so I was debating whether or not to go."
"Then let's go, I don't have much to do here anyway."
"Don't you need to broadcast live?" Faye asked in confusion, "It's a shame not to keep selling it since it's been gaining momentum lately."
The two of them had been carrying goods for the past few nights, and although they hadn't sold as many as they had on the first day, they were basically able to sell two to three thousand pieces at a time, which worked out to be a very lucrative amount of money.
"Now it's just a pre-sale, we've been subbing for three days now, and I figure it's almost at saturation level"
"It's not going to be saturated that fast."
Faye felt that Selene was just trying to reassure her to go out and have fun. That's why she was being alarmist here.
"There are already other competitors on the market that are selling cheaper, and Pampered Puppy hasn't shipped yet due to the construction schedule, so they can't win by word-of-mouth for the time being, so it feels like it's about time."
"Besides, I'm not going to do live broadcasting all the time, it's not a matter of one or two days, so don't worry about going out."
Faye was stunned, and in the end could only say, "... Okay, you said it yourself, don't wait for me to get on the train, you'll call me back."
"Put a hundred hearts!"
Faye saw Selene so faithfully, also put down her heart. After going home began to pack luggage to buy tickets. The next day early in the morning she boarded the train back to her hometown of Heron City.
The house was a bit empty with one less person.
But Selene felt pretty good about it. After all, Faye wasn't home during the day most of the time, and now it wasn't much different from normal.
It was just that she had to cook for herself without the "love lunch" that her sister had left for her.
Luckily, she wasn't too picky when it came to food when she was a human, so Selene simply boiled a bowl of pasta and got rid of her lunch.
After soaking the pot in the sink, she headed towards the study.
It was hard to be idle, so she might as well study what she was going to do in the future.
The words Selene said to Faye were not just window dressing to deal with Faye, they were her true thoughts.
Live streaming with goods was very lucrative. This she knew very well, not only could she bring vocal buttons, according to her current popularity in the cute pet circle, it was feasible to bring other pet supplies.
There were also countless job offers currently in her inbox.
It did seem like the perfect choice, but Selene was also well aware of what the drawbacks were.
First of all, her human and cat forms were split between two time slots, and while the video could still be edited, she simply couldn't do both at the same time if she was alive, so she had to be bound to Faye to appear together.
Selene believed that if she and Faye asked for her to be allowed to help her all the time, Faye would definitely agree.
However, Selene felt that this would not be fair to Faye. She could tell that Faye loved her major and had spent so much of her youthful years on her studies. It would be a shame if she gave up what she had learned because of her.
In the end, they were completely different individuals even if they were blood sisters, and since she had a career she wanted to do, Faye would also have things she really wanted to do and values she wanted to realize in her life.
She can't let her sister be her "shadow" because of her own interests.
Secondly, her state is also very unstable, she is not sure how long the "orange" can exist, whether it will suddenly disappear again, in the end, the ability to change into a cat is not something she can control.
Selene doesn't like uncontrollable things. In her heart, her own ability and the knowledge she has learned is the foundation of her existence. The rest can't give her a sense of security.
So, live banding is just a stage of her career, a stepping stone to get her started.
After settling the bill with Pampered Delight, it was time for her to do what she really wanted to do. She only had a vague idea at the moment and needed to think it over before making a decision.
Selene turned on her computer and started searching for relevant data. She also opened a notepad on her tablet and started writing and drawing, trying to clear up her cluttered thoughts.
She organized her thoughts until dusk.
The light of the setting sun shone in through the window sill, bringing a slight warmth.
Selene also noticed the brilliant evening sunlight outside the window, and when she glanced at the time, she stood up and ran to the kitchen to start steaming the cat's rice.
Just as Selene was still waiting for the cat rice to steam in the kitchen, her cell phone suddenly rang.
Selene looked at the caller ID and realized that it was Sophie calling.
Selene picked up the phone.
The female voice on the other end of the line was urgent, even with a crying tone.
"Selene, have you seen Bella and Oliver in the neighborhood!""
