Things started to return to normal, Simon leisurely spent his time with Jane cuddling in bed or going on missions.
He was called by Aro, he thought that it was probably another mission but when the messenger told him only he was required and Jane was not summoned he became surprised. This had never happened before as Aro trusted Jane alot more than he did Simon.
Simon still went to the chambers after all he couldn't refuse the summons. When he entered he saw Alec and Felix standing on the side with Aro sitting with his eyes closed.
Simon stopped in front of Aro and announced himself.
"I'm here as per the summons."
"Yes. Yes. How are you dear Simon? I hope everything is going well with Jane?"
Simon was shocked and uncomfortable this was not the Aro he was used to. Even though Aro usually acted very kindly and had a glib tongue something felt different his voice felt slimy and sickening to Simon right now.
"I'm fine and things with Jane are going well."
"Hmm. That's good."
Aro took a breath and stood up from his seat. He came closer to Simon and started to circle him.
"Tell me Simon. do you believe excessive caution is bad?"
Simon had a feeling he would not like the end of this meeting. But still thought it best to answer truthfully.
"No. Caution is never bad, as far as I am concerned caution can save more than your life."
Aro nodded while seemingly deep in his thoughts, "indeed. It pleases me how similar our thoughts are."
Aro continued to walk as if contemplating something, "what would you do if there was a possible threat inside Volturi?"
Simon was not dumb he knew they were talking about him. Even though he had not helped the Cullens directly and there was no guarantee that the Cullen's would be weakened without the nomadic vampires he had suggested to Jasper, it had still messed with Aro's plans who wanted to make the Cullen's weaker for it to be easier to poach their members. And one of things that Simon learned from his time in Volturi was that Aro had no limits to achieve what he wanted.
"They would have to be observed before deciding whether to eliminate or forcibly make them loyal to Volturi."
Simon got ready to break a vial of blood, he had no plans on being forced to do anything or be executed. He thought about Jane but understood that she would be safe or if Aro did try to do anything even if Simon wasn't there Alec would protect her.
Aro nodded again and finally came to a stop, he looked into Simon's eyes, "so what should we do to you?"
Simon crushed the vial and attacked Aro but he underestimated the Volturi leader, he had seen more war than Simon and was among the oldest vampires. Aro dodged the blood bullets that were sent towards him. Before Simon could attack again he was tackled by Felix who held him to the floor. Simon made the blood into a spear and send it towards Felix.
Before he could know the result of his attack Alec used his ability and took away his senses. Simon was enveloped in darkness, he couldn't hear anything, the feel of Felix holding him also vanished he tried to move but failed. Simon. still tried to used his ability and sense the blood around him to gauge the situation but before he could do so he felt something foreign enter in his mind.
Felix was holding the limbs of Simon his left shoulder had a hole in it which was healing but it didn't hinder him in anyway as he applying so much pressure to stop him from moving that Simon's bones had started to break. Alec was staring at Simon not letting go his ability he knew what Simon could well. Aro looked the scene with a tint of regret, "I had hoped it wouldn't have come to this but as I said our thoughts match so you understand don't you?" Disregarding the fact that Simon's senses were taken away and he couldn't listen.
A woman with light brown hair entered the chambers.
"My dear Chelsea it time for you to shine. Make him as loyal to Volturi as you can while ending his relation to anyone outside of Volturi."
The woman simply nodded and looked into the eyes Simon.
"The bond with the Cullen members Jasper and Alice is too strong to be broken."
"Then weaken it to the point he would prioritize Volturi over them everytime he had a choice."
Chelsea nodded and went back to work. After a while, she was done with her work.
"Good work my dear. You can now go back now. I have already informed Corin to give you some special attention."
Chelsea happily walked away to get her dose of happiness inducement that Aro used to keep her within Volturi.
