Prologue

He paced at the door, anxious.

His father had been in there way too long.

What was going on in there? He had to come out soon... right? Someone crashed into him.

"Oof!" the prince said as he crashed into the ground.

"Oh!" a voice said. "I am so sorry!" It sounded like a she.

The prince rolled over to see Nettle, a trusted servant. What was she doing here?

"The king said no one is to disturb him." he said in a threatening voice.

"Um..." she said anxiously. "checking on him right now actually..." she stole a quick glance at the door.

The prince sighed. "I guess we do have to check on him"

"Should I..."

"Yes." The prince said. "Open the door."

Nettle reluctantly opened the towering door. This door was strictly forbidden to open, unless royalty was opening it or royalty commanded someone to do it.

The sight he saw in there was not at all what he expected.

There was his father, standing there, hunched over and looking completely insane. In his hand was a gem, flashing red and cyan in ominous light.

"father!" the prince cried "what in the world are you doing!?"

"What we need." the king hissed. "The attackers will pay for what they have done. I have thought about it long enough." he gave the gem a greedy look, as wind started to tear away his cape.

"Your majesty..." Nettle said her voice almost getting ripped away from the wind as it got more and more intense.

The king chuckled, the gem turned bright red... and then the king crumbled into dust.
