True King of the Pirates

Orion Kartia's life was cut short and he was now forced to transmigrate into the wonderful world of One Piece but thankfully he has a few gifts to help him get started! This is purely fan-fiction. It's just a way for me to practice my English whilst writing something enjoyable. This book is targeted at avid One Piece fans as there is a lot of terminology that can only be understood by people who follow the manga/anime. The release schedule for normal working weeks will be as follows: Mon - 1x Chapters Tues - 1x Chapter Wed - 1x Chapters Thurs - 1x Chapter Fri - 1x Chapters Sat - 2x Chapters Sun - 2x Chapters Any mass releases or dead periods will be announced in advance. Thank you for all the support so far but please don't hold back with the criticism as well... I need it to improve my writing. I welcome all criticism, as long as it's constructive! I'm mainly using this to test the waters and improve my writing, as I'm also working on the story I'm most proud of and looking forward to releasing! I won't be releasing that one for the foreseeable future as I want to have written the majority of the story in advance as the goal is to get paid on the back of it. And there are too many potentially good novels that finish half way through for one reason or another. I don't want my main novel to be one of those!

Offending a Yonko (2 in 1)

As Silk left the arena the sound of the voice appeared again.

"Don't panic, but you're being followed. Just do as I say, and you'll be fine.

As soon as you hit the end of the road, turn right and sprint as fast as you can for two blocks. No matter what you do, don't slow down!"

Silk nodded and did as instructed. As he made his way to the end of the road he began a rapid sprint.

Caught off guard by the sudden change of pace, 10 ordinary looking men started running after him in order not to lose their target. But as soon as they did 10 pitch black arrows tore through the air, piercing each man perfectly between the eyebrows.

As Silk was running he heard the sound of men falling and took a quick look back. When he saw 10 men on the floor with arrows sticking out from their heads he couldn't help but take a breath of cold air.

"Don't worry about what's going on behind you, just keep running!"

Silk knew that he had no choice but to trust the words of the voice. So without a second thought he sped up and ignored everything that took place behind him.

No matter how many screams he heard, or how many times he felt the wind suddenly pick up behind him, he didn't look back even once. He just carried on running in the direction he was told.

"You can't escape, just give up!"

Silk didn't even need to turn around to realise that the voice belonged to Oven.

As he ran, he felt the air heat up to the point where he felt like every cell in his body was on fire. Suddenly the ground turned soft, as if he were running on mud and the soles of his feet started burning as the bottom of his shoes started melting.

He knew that if he slowed down he'd more than likely lose his life so he carried on running as if his life depended on it.

Suddenly the hairs on the back of his neck stood up as he felt the threat of death approach.

"Since you'd rather die than accept our offer, then go die!"

Oven appeared behind him with his fist flying toward Silk's head. Just as Silk felt all hope was lost, he saw a blurry figure zip passed him and collide with the powerhouse just behind him.

Just as he was about to turn back to look at who it was that appeared he felt himself shoot up into the sky. As he looked down, he saw that he was being carried by what looked like a tornado, and on the ground, the black fist of a tall figure dressed in a dark hooded robe had collided with the fist of Oven creating a terrifying shockwave.

Oven was completely caught off guard by the sudden intrusion. He couldn't make out any defining features of the person in front of him, but he knew that whoever it was, was undoubtably strong!

"Who are yo…"

Before he could finish his sentence, he felt the power behind the fist increase suddenly. His arm started to numb, and he was losing his footing.

"Fly!"

As the mysterious hooded figure said that, Oven was sent flying back, crashing into a building over 50 meters away. When he walked out from the destroyed building, neither Silk nor the hooded man were anywhere in sight.

[Just who was that. With strength like that, they can't be an obscure individual, but just from that clash I couldn't tell who it was at all.

All I know is that he wasn't the same person as the voice from the arena, but seeing as they both helped to save Silk, they should be working together… Why are such powerful people here and what interest could they have in someone like Silk?!]

Whilst Oven was still going over the information he had with the hopes of finding some clue about the mysterious group that prevented him from accomplishing what should've been a simple task, Silk who was still trying to come to terms with everything that had happened, had finally landed on hard ground after being carried away by the wind.

As he landed he saw 3 hooded figures in front of him. One of which surprisingly looked to be the height of a child. The hooded figure in the middle was the first to speak as he lowered his hood showing his face.

"We finally get to meet face to face!"

As he saw the face of the voice that had effectively saved his life, Silk was in genuine shock.

"Yo… You're the Heavenly Demon!"

Ori was smiling leisurely as he looked at the surprised Sea Mink.

"Ooh, you've heard of me?"

"How could I not? You're the one they call the uncrowned king of the rookies!

By the way, how were you able to speak so only I could hear?"

Ori shrugged casually as he replied.

"I can use the wind to carry the sound of my voice to the target of my choice."

As he said that, Silk looked a bit down as he realised that it was only possible with Ori's devil fruit, as that was a handy technique to have.

"Why is it that wherever we go, you always feel the need to create trouble?"

As the person who scolded Ori lowered their hood, Silk's breath hastened as he saw her.

"Demonic Archer?!"

The last to de-hood was the tiny robed figure. As he saw who it was Silk was shocked. Not because he recognised them but because they were genuinely a child.

Seeing the shock on his face, the blonde haired child let out a proud laugh as he said.

"No need to be so surprised, for it is only I… Demon King Sabo!"

As he said that Sabo felt a knock on his head.

"Demon King my arse. More like Demon brat! Don't listen to him, he's the most recent addition to the crew, Sabo!"

Sabo turned to Ori who had just knocked his forehead with a disgruntled expression on his face.

Just as the two started to bicker, a 4th robed figure appeared. As he de-hooded, Silk was once more put in a state of shock.

"Demonic Dragon?!"

Roman who had just returned gave Silk a cursory glance, before nodding to Ori and Shaya.

"It's done!"

Ori nodded in reply before turning to the shocked Silk.

"You have two choices in your current position:

1. We help you leave the island in secret and you spend the rest of your life on the run from Big Mom and her crew.

2. You join me as the 5th member of the Heavenly Demons."

Silk who heard the offer's was confused and stunned by the choices laid out for him. He felt appreciative because he wasn't being forced to join against his will as Oven had tried to do, but shocked that the young man who was quite literally the talk of the world wanted him to join his crew.

[2 big names have tried to get me to join their crews in one day, what's going on today?!]

"You want me, to join the Heavenly Demon Pirates? Why?! You don't even know me, what makes you think you can even trust me?!"

Ori looked at Silk with carefree smile as he replied.

"I don't know, I guess you could call it intuition."

"Are you kidding me? You offended a Yonko, to invite me to join your crew, based solely on your intuition?!"

As Silk saw Ori nod and the candid look in his eyes he realised that despite sounding crazy, he was being 100% genuine.

He bowed deeply and said.

"Thank you for everything you did for me, but I can't take you up on either of your offers!"

Ori wasn't all that surprised by Silk's rejection, but he was still curious as to why. Even if he didn't join his crew, he should still need help leaving the island secretly, otherwise death would be a certain outcome.

"Don't you even want our help getting off the island?"

Silk shook his head as he replied.

"I can't leave yet, I have unfinished business!"

Ori seemed to understand what he meant as he said.

"You want to finish the challenge at the colosseum?"

When he saw Silk confirm his suspicion with a nod he couldn't help but ask.

"You must know that if you go back the chances of you being able to leave alive are virtually 0, so why are you so determined to complete the challenge?"

Silk clenched his fists as he said.

"If I don't, fishman Island will lose not only their chance at being able to live freely but also their queen!"

Ori scrunched his eyebrows in confusion.

"What do you mean?!"

Silk looked at Ori solemnly, considering if he should tell a human who he only just met about the business of fishman Island.

Seeing the struggle going on in his eyes and realising he was being to forward with his questions, Ori raised his hands as he said.

"Sorry, I didn't mean to be so forward. You can just forget I asked anything."

Silk clenched his teeth as he decided to trust the man who had saved his life earlier.

"Queen Otohime intends on leaving fishman island at the end of the month to set sail for Mary Geoise. She intends to speak to the world government in person to help start the process of building a future for all fishmen to live a life of true freedom, being able to roam free on land not just under the sea.

King Neptune knew my mother through my father and felt she was the only land liver he could trust, so he sent her a message asking her to protect Queen Otohime. But he didn't realise that my mother had been arrested by the marines a few months back. As my mother was no longer around to receive the message, I read it in her stead.

When I read it, I understood the gravity of the situation and knew I had to do anything I could to help. But I'm too weak to protect her majesty myself so I decided to hire a team of S rank adventurers from the Federation. But it'll cost me £400,000,000. My mother had a little over £300,000,000 in savings stashed away but I still need about £100,000,000.

I don't have enough time to use any normal ways of raising that kind of money. Successfully challenging the colosseum was the only way I could think of to raise the capital needed in the time I have remaining."

Ori realised that the timing seemed to match up between his story and the timeline Oda had described in the canon. But there was something that he couldn't wrap his head around.

"Seeing as you are half mink and half fishman. And that you said your mother was the only land liver King Neptune could trust must mean that your mother must be a Mink, but who's your father? For him to know King Neptune well enough to introduce your mother to him, he shouldn't be an obscure individual, but I can't think of a fishman who fits the description."

Silk looked at Ori as he replied.

"Fisher Tiger!"

When they heard that Sabo was the only person who wasn't shocked by the information. The person who was naturally the most shocked was Shaya, being that she was once saved by the Fishman when she was a slave.

Her body shook in excitement as she asked.

"You're father was Fisher Tiger?! The man who freed all those slaves years ago?!"

Silk nodded with pride as he heard that.

Shaya was going to extend her thanks to the son of her late saviour when she was stopped by Orion.

Just as she was going to ask why he was stopping her she noticed the look in his eye. With how well they knew each other, no words needed to be exchanged. She kept her appreciation to herself for the moment.

Ori didn't say anything at first, he just stared into the eyes of the Sea Mink in front of him. Eventually he broke the silence.

"Are you sure you wish to do this? My offer still stands, but if you go to the colosseum I won't go with you! Big Mom is not someone we can afford to offend."

On the inside Silk was a bit disappointed, but he knew asking someone he barely knew to thoroughly offend a Yonko was too much, even if it was a super rookie.

Despite not gaining any further help from them, he was still grateful for their help till now. Even though he was grateful, he had to finish his mission, even if it cost him his life!

He steeled his resolve as he looked at Ori in the eye and nodded.

"I'm sure! I have to do this, I can't afford to turn back now!"

Ori let out a regretful sigh as he sincerely said.

"Good luck!"

Silk nodded before he turned and ran towards an alleyway.

After he left Shaya looked thoroughly pissed off when she looked at Ori.

"You let him go back to the arena by himself, even when you know he'll definitely lose his life?! You know that his father is the only reason I was able to regain my freedom! How could you do that?! If you don…"

"Hahahaha!"

Whilst Shaya was shouting angrily at Ori, she was suddenly cut off by his laughing.

"What could you possibly be laughing at right now?!"

Ori turned to Shaya with a smile and said.

"I found the 5th member of the Heavenly Demon Pirates, should I not be happy?"

Shaya looked at Ori in undisguised shock.

"You mean…"

Ori turned to look at his crew and said with an excited smile.

"Prepare yourselves. Tomorrow we thoroughly offend one of the Yonko!"

Sorry about the lack of chapters this week but the next 2 weeks will be sporadic with releases due to work.
