Chapter 13: powerstones

"That? Well that is a powerstone."

"Powerstone? Why are there so many of you who wear it? Even you and Azuri are wearing a few on your bodies."

"Well it's because powerstones give us power. The closer they are to our bodies, the easier we can use them when necessary."

"Power? How exactly?"

Azuri looked at Alexander. A sigh left her lips as she said " You really have forgotten everything haven't you? back then you used to love hearing about my gift and the use of powerstones."

"Powerstones give us power by enhancing our gifts temporarily. Take me for instance, when I use my power normally, I am able to calm down one person with a lot of effort. But if I use a single powerstone, I can do that very easily. If I use more powerstones, the power of my gift will get even stronger. For instance, I can make make more than one person calm dowm at the same time. Of course, that was when I was younger. Now even if used more than ten powerstones, I can't calm even more than two people at the same time."

Alexabdwr was amazed.

"Then how was it able to change like that. Healer Heena was able to make the ring open up but close later on."

Alexander was a bit confused at this, even when he tried pulling the stone, he did not feel it budge.

"Well, that is how powerstones work." Myuri then showed Alexander one of her powerstones braceles. "Chief, how many powerstones do you think are on this bracelet?"

Alexander looked at the clearly singular ring. He knew that his was not the correct answer but he still said, "one?"

Myuri seemed to enjoy teaching him, as she said with a smile, "No, there is a total of six powerstones. But each powerstones had the ability to fuse with all other powerstones. Look."

Myuri too off her bracelet and put it on her palm. Then, both her hand and the bracket suddenly lit up slightly. Alexander leaned in close and saw the perfectly ring shaped bracelet turn into six marble sized blue stones.

"We can use our gifts to transform powerstones however we want. But it mainly depend on how great you control over is. In this size powerstones are in their purest form. Because of this, they can't be divided further in any way. But we can still shape them."

Myuri then changed one of the stones and turned it into a ring. She the lifted Alexander's hand slipped the ring on his finger.

"..."

"You see." Myuri then turned the left over powerstones into the usual bracelet. Notably, the formed bracelet was a little bit thinner than it was originally.

Alexander though, did not put much attention on the bracelet. He instead looked at the ring on his hand.

'Did i just get proposed to?'

Of course this was not what truly happened, as from how nonchalant Myuri was treating him, what she jut did did not seem at all important to her. So it was surely not a proposal. Alexander was only shocked at Seeing a woman give give him a ring. As in his past world, giving and even helping someone wear a ring directly points to marriage.

But this was a different world, so surely not.

"Thank you Myuri."

"You are welcome my chief."

And before the three knew it, they had already reached their destination. Back at the giant tree they returned. And this time, since Azuri wasn't rushing, he finally fit the chance to properly see its fully beauty.

less than an hour later, The sun had set and Alexander was in the tree like before. Only this time he was all alone. Both Myuri and Azuri had left to do some chores. As the chief, Myuri said that Alexander could not do these thing on his own.

So Alexander was this left alone. But it was not too bad, as he had the time properly look at some of the interesting things in the tree.

One of the was white lantern he had seen previously. On closer inspection, it turned out that the lantern was actually made of thin and white plastic. But that's not truly the interesting part. what amazed Alexander was what produced the light. It was actually a powerstones dipped inside some sort of liquid. For some reason, the liquid glowed in bluish white light.

At that moment while he was still gazing at the lantern, the cloth covering the door was opened.

Myuri came through holding small basket of fruits.
