Are we stuck here forever?

"It really isn't fucking moving." Said Norman, with a smile very different from the one he often wore. "We might really stuck in here."

For the past six hours, a number of the boys had taken it in turns to try and break open the classroom door. Most of them had given up after half hour, but Norman had kept going until just now. As far as I knew, he wasn't in any sports clubs. Where does he get that stamina? What was the thing that made him so determined to escape? A question like that, I am sure would be become more and more important as time passed.

In this room right now, there were sixteen people, myself included. All college students. There were a few people that I didn't know much about, but all of them were familiar faces.

In the six hours, that we had been here, I noticed that although this looked place looked like our classroom, somethings were missing. First, it was the sound of the door. It didn't sounded unnatural. As Norman tried to bring it down, there were no vibrations, no grinding. There was just the dull thud of his foot. That wasn't the only thing that was strange, however. From this part of the school, we should have been able to hear the traffic. But we couldn't. We should've also been able to see the gulls that hang around the school. And yet, out side of this classroom, there wasn't a single living thing in sight.

"Are we stuck here forever?" Elina, a small girl who sat next to me, said this almost six hours ago.

My memories are a bit hazy. How did we get to the current situation? It feels like we were waiting for a teacher to some for a long time, before somebody checked the door at half past three.

"It looks like she's finally asleep." Lucy said to me.

Elina had started crying soon after the first few people that attempted it, failed to open the door. Just like how Norman was the last person to accept the possibility if us being trapped, Elina was the first. People were quick to judge her and say that she blew things out of proportion. But, in these six hours, I'm sure that we have all considered what she said, at least once. What if that becomes our reality?

"Thanks for taking care of her." I said.

"No problem, Ken." Lucy looked at Elina with a gentle smile. "She cried really hard, but I'm sure she will be okay when she wakes up."

It didn't surprise me that she did cry. She was able to see the reality of the situation much sooner than any of us could. Without the need of any comparison, she could see it. How frightening must that have been. Although most of us knew what would happen if we stayed here without food or water or even a toilet. Although we knew what would happen to us if no one came to save us. We were still holding onto hope.

But, how long will that last?
