The New Girl
Her eyes were fixated on the front. The lesson had started an hour ago and the teacher kept on talking, but Xylia seemed unfocused.
Her thoughts were drifting and were lost somewhere. She couldn't forget the conversation between Aciel and Grace earlier.
"You're here, Aciel."
"Yeah. I thought you were joking." Aciel chuckled.
Grace sweetly smiled. "I told you I won't give up."
The two chatted as if they were the only ones in the room. And Xylia felt her heart was being pierced by a needle.
The lesson went on for another two hours but for her, it felt forever. She wanted to run into the restroom and hide so she wouldn't feel awkward.
"Hey, are you okay?" Chelsea asked.
She didn't realize that the first period ended. She didn't even understand anything the teachers said. Chelsea looked worried so she smiled at her and nodded.
"I'm fine. Why did you ask?"
