Trapped in your spells

Eve blinked continuously at him, her emerald eyes gazing at him affectionately and with a touch of apprehension. She swallowed nervously as he approached her, His fangs emerged from his mouth, gleaming white and dangerously sharp. As he drew nearer to her vulnerable neck, Eve tensed and took a sharp breath, gripping his shoulders tightly. "How much will this hurt?" she asked, her hands still clutching onto him. His deep red eyes locked onto her green ones, strands of water cascading down his hair, tracing lines across his face. He resembled a divine figure, a male deity. His left hand slid down to her waist, pulling her closer, leaning in towards her neck, gently inhaling the scent. This caused Eve to shiver slightly, her grip on him tightening. "It may sting at first," he whispered softly, slowly rubbing his nose against her neck, "but the pain will only last for a fleeting moment. After that, it will fade away."

Chapter 14

Eve pulled her muscle and opened her eyes. The first thing she felt was numbness, but after a few seconds, she regained her strength and sat up. The candle that lit the room was flickering and about to extinguish.

Eve wondered what had happened the day before. She struggled to piece together the events in her mind. She remembered using her abilities to control the tornado, the rush of energy, and then everything went blank. The next moment, she was in her room.

Eve placed her bare leg on the wooden floor of her room. The coldness made her toes curl. She slowly stood up and left the room.

Eve checked the whole house and surprisingly, Ethan wasn't there. She wondered if he had left after finding out that her power couldn't be amplified. Eve sighed helplessly, but she still needed help with controlling her power.

Eve sat on the couch with a cup of warm tea, feeling the warmth spread through her hands as she took a comforting sip. The room was dimly lit, the soft glow of the candle casting dancing shadows across the walls. She could still feel the residual energy tingling in her fingertips, a constant reminder of her untamed power.

With a sigh, Eve decided to practice her abilities once again. She focused her mind, summoning the strength and control she so desperately desired. As she extended her hand towards the couch, her fingers trembled with anticipation.

But just as she was about to exert her power, a sudden knock on the door resonated through the room, causing her whole body to jolt in surprise. Startled, she lost her concentration, and the couch slipped from her grasp, crashing back onto the floor with a forceful thud.

Eve's heart raced as she hastily composed herself, a mixture of frustration and disappointment coursing through her veins. She made her way to the door, her footsteps echoing in the silence of the house.

As she opened the door, she was greeted by a familiar face. His eyes widened as they met hers, seemingly aware of the turmoil she had just experienced. Without a word, he entered the room, his presence calming her racing thoughts.

"Where were you?" Eve asked, glaring at him.

"Went to freshen up," Ethan said as he sat on the couch Eve had tried telekinesis on.

"I have a guest restroom. You could have used that. I have neat male clothes," Eve said, but she regretted the last sentence immediately.

Ethan raised his brows, his red orbs stared at her. "You have neat male clothes? Why am I not surprised?" Ethan responded with a smirk.

Eve blushed and looked away, feeling a mix of embarrassment and annoyance at her slip-up. "I didn't mean it like that," she muttered, trying to salvage the situation. "I just... I mean, I have some spare clothes in case anyone needs them, that's all."

"I didn't know you were expecting guests, not to speak of..." Ethan interrupted her.

"Ethan!" Eve screamed, her face ablaze as she glared at him. "These clothes belong to..."

Halfway through her revelation, Ethan shut her up. "I don't care who owns them. I want you to try channeling your power so you can master it because so far, it seems you are very terrible at making use of it."

Eve sighed helplessly. "I already tried that, but it seems it just comes and goes. Seraphina would be the best option for a coach since she's a witch. She knows more about magic than a blood-sucking creature would ever know."

"Seraphina can't help you any further. You have to manage with me unless you have some better options," Ethan said.

"Yeah, I do. Not learning at all would be better," Eve said, turning around to leave.

A great force coming from behind pulled her back, and she hit her head against the wall, causing a sharp pain to jolt through her entire body. She tasted her own blood and spat it out.

"You see why you need to master your power, Eve? You can't even stop a vampire from borrowing your power," Ethan said as he walked towards her and squatted before her, using his finger to wipe the blood on her lips. He stuck his finger into his mouth, tasting her blood. For a moment, his eyes closed entirely, as if he was savoring the taste. When his eyes reopened, they had returned to their original red color.

"Why would you do that?" Eve asked, her voice shaky and filled with fear.

Ethan smirked, his fangs glistening in the dim light. "I wanted to remind you of what you're dealing with. You can't afford to be weak or hesitant. If you want to survive in this world, you need to harness your power and become stronger."

Eve's heart pounded in her chest as she stared into Ethan's intense gaze. She knew he was right, but his methods were terrifying and dangerous. Still, she couldn't deny that she needed his guidance, even if it came with a price.

Taking a deep breath, Eve pushed aside her fear and made a decision. "Fine," she said, her voice filled with determination. "I'll learn from you, but on my own terms. No more surprise attacks or blood tasting."

Ethan chuckled, his fangs retracting. "Deal," he said, offering her a hand to help her up. "Let's start from the beginning, shall we? I'll teach you everything I know about controlling and mastering your power."

As Eve took his hand and rose to her feet, she couldn't help but feel a glimmer of hope. Maybe, with Ethan's guidance, she could conquer her untamed power and find her place in this chaotic world.
