Accidents happen in the line of duty

New York, Hydra base, 2009

Through the hellish methods of Hydra, the group of defects including Harvey managed to obtain skills no ordinary man may come into contact with for the rest of his life.

Every day they were trained in combat, the use of weapons, firearms, and a variety of ways to kill a man. Their increase in strength however also increases the eyes focused on them.

At the moment, Harvey and his squad (the same group) were eating at the cafeteria. Their bulging muscles and sturdy frames created a sharp contrast to his slim frame but whether they are stronger or Harvey's stronger only he truly knows.

Just as the squad was finishing their food, a personnel escorted by two Hydra soldiers came to their table.

"By the orders of the higher-ups, Sergeant Collins was relieved of his duty as the commanding officer of squad 6 in light of his negligence that caused Hydra casualties and ultimately the failure of the previous mission. In a few days, a new commanding officer would be assigned to squad 6 but for now, they would attend to the headquarters's security." The personnel announced.

Right as he did so, the eyes of everyone on Squad 6 landed on Harvey.

Bang~

"This is the fault of this piece of trash! If he wasn't so clumsy Sly and the other two would have survived!" Said one of the soldiers as he pointed at Harvey.

Not wanting to be entangled with the soldier's affair, the personnel quietly left with the two Hydra soldiers in tow.

"I agree! This scum almost killed me when he set off a trip wire in one of our missions." Another soldier hissed.

"He should be the one to get punished and not Sergeant Collins. Why do the higher-ups allow him to stay on our team?"

The soldiers got more agitated as they spoke and soon a series of Harvey's mistakes were brought to the table.

Like how he mistook a squad mate as the target and committed friendly fire. Not only sending the poor guy to the infirmary but also making the then-target escape.

Or the time when Harvey confirmed a kill on the target only for the "dead" to spring back up to life and catch the people responsible for the cleanup off guard and causing deaths.

If not for the monthly check-ups and annual brainwashing his squad mates would have thought that Harvey was doing those things on purpose.

Fortunately, the instances where he committed mistakes were few and far in between. The targets were also either brats or low on the list of priorities. They can only suck it up to Harvey being a literal kid compared to the rest of the team.

Most of the time ,however, Harvey acts just like the other soldiers so Hydra is more willing to turn a blind eye to his occasional blunders.
