Chapter 281: The Final Practical Exam (Island) IV

3 days has passed since everyone boarded the ship, the island that will serve as the test island for 1 month, could now be seen by the naked eye. The island itself is quite big to be exact, the island itself is about an area of 785,753 km2 (303,381 sq mi).

Alongside it, the island is abundant of life as trees, mountains, and even animals exist on the island. Of course the unchanging fact, monsters also exist on the island.

In that day, one of the professors called all the students on the ship to gather at the deck fully equipped, as they will now begun to give out some word of advice, before starting the test.

"We already had debriefed you on what to do and what to expect in this test, I'll repeat it, there are two ways on how to pass this test, first option is you guys find the treasure on the island and protect it for 24 hours, the second option is to just survive for 1 month... choosing either of this two options could guarantee that that you pass the test"

"May your luck be in your favors"

After telling that to the whole students, magic circles begun appearing on each of the students in the deck, as one of the professors risk recieving mana depletion in order to teleport all the students into the island and start the test. The moment all the students received their own magic circles, the professor then cheered each and everyone one of them in order to not give up on the test. After all their life in the society will be based on that particular test.

Just like that after all well meaning messages were given, it was then at that point where all the magic circles activated and teleport all the students unto the island.

After the light had blinded Shun for a few moments, Shun then found itself in the random location of the island, as he literally don't know where he was.

He was surrounded by trees as far as he can see, no water spot, animals, nor monsters in sight, only trees. With such unremarkable starting point, Shun then begun his search, as he made his move.

1 hour has passed, there were still no change at all from his previous situation, there were no animals and monsters wherever he went, it was as if, someone deliberately prevent him from accomplishing something.

In that moment, just as Shun thought that the next few hours  would be boring, he suddenly felt blood lust on his right, as he quickly jumped back, and turn towards the direction he had felt the bloodlust.

After waiting for a bit, a huge snake suddenly emerged from the shadow, as it bares its fangs and attacked Shun. In response to this, Shun suddenly attacked quicker, as he dodged the fangs and countered it with an uppercut.

Once the monster was in a daze due to the uppercut, Shun then blink above the monster, as he pulled out a short sword and begun attacking its back. Unfortunately all the monster on this island are quite smart. With that, he then concluded, that all monsters would be hard to kill.

With that, the snake monster then begun to attacks once more, forcing Shun to take a step back and utilize the terrain  as he goes on to fight the huge snake.

In a one-on-one fight, using the terrain can still be very helpful, though the benefits differ from those in large-scale battles. After all using objects like trees, rocks, or buildings can provide cover from attacks and conceal movements, giving a fighter time to plan and execute counter-attacks.

The environment can offer improvised weapons or tools. Rocks, branches, or other objects can be used to strike or distract the opponent. Knowing the terrain allows a fighter to use escape routes if necessary or set up ambush points to surprise the opponent.

Overall, while the impact of terrain in a one-on-one fight is less pronounced than in larger battles, it can still provide significant tactical advantages.

So with that in mind, using the trees as cover, Shun avoided the strikes coming from the snake, as he moved between the trees and occasionally throw in order to test his durability. Of course the best part, Shun also used the trees itself to physically harm them whether they like it or not.

Attacking the base of a tree, Shun pushed the tree towards the snake monster, causing the monster to scurry for survival and gave leeway for Shun to pull out RFC (Rapid Fire Cannon) to blow one of its eyes. The snake then screeched in pain after getting its eye blown away, but that doesn't mean that it's done.

Without any signs, the snake suddenly lounge on him in the hieght of its dangered life and bit his arm and injected poison into his body.

"Gah!"

Feeling the poison entering his veins,  Shun summoned the strength into his other free hand and punched the other eye of the snake, completely breaking through its eye membrane and plunging to its skull. Due to that, the snake grew furious as it dragged Shun around and slamming him into different trees and rocks in order to kill him with its weight.

However such tactic was useless agaisnt Shun, as he begun gathering mana unto his hand that he plunged towards the serpents eye and casted magic targeting the snakes brain.

"Prowling Projectile 10x!!!!!"

Using Yuumi's skill I'm rapid succession, all those attacks directly attacked the snakes brain, as it blew a hole through its head and killed the snake itself. In that moment, the huge snake was killed, as it dropped to the ground while dragging Shun by its mouth.

At last that short yet intense fight, ended as Shun broke free from the snakes mouth, as he looks at its fangs which were still injected on its arm.

"Haysst, it's only the first day and I'm already like this...."
