Chapter 1

"Suffering is the inevitable price of consciousness."

--It hurts... how painful! --

--My chest hurts!--

In the dream world, William Templeton was already trapped by invisible chains of darkness.

The sharp pain in his chest made his unconsciousness slip a little and gave way to being more conscious.

William Templeton tried to move his limbs, but they seems paralyzed. Then he realized he was sound asleep.

Thumn-Thumn

His heart was pounding, with each beat the pain increasing exponentially. Pain that allowed him to materialize strength to get up.

Opening his eyes slowly, he caught a glimpse of a ceiling, a wall and an unlit light bulb. William deduced that he was in a room.

Thumn-Thumn

His heart starts beating again and he feels as if a stake has been driven through his chest.

His eyes wander around the room, identies things in the room. A small desk, a personal bed, toys lying around, a mirror and a somewhat small closet.

-Shit- he curses between his teeth while subconsciously bringing his hand to his left breast, but he doesn't feel his heart beating.

Suddenly, his head began to ache and dizzy. As if reality itself was changing around him, he felt memories coming to him and because of the shock he couldn't analyze any of them.

William, gathered the strength to get up, but when he did his legs weakened and he fell to the ground. Ouch, that hurt.

After a second attempt, William managed to stand up, and was able to move more fluidly and safely; he looked around the room carefully.

Through the window of the room came the yellowish light of the sun which covered the room with its brightness. A cluttered desk, with a cheap laptop, notebooks and books on it.

With hesitant steps, he walked towards the mirror, seeing himself in it, he immediately understood the situation he was in, he had transmigrated!

The excitement came with a name spoken by the whispers of his mind: Terry Brown. As he saw his face in the mirror, and having listened to what his mind told him, he then knew that the kid he had transmigrated into, was named Terry Brown.

He analyzed his appearance; blue eyes and jet hair; short stature and slim build; pale skin that looks somewhat delicate.

The corners of his lips turned up in a wry smile, had he really transmigrated? This couldn't be a dream, because he had just woken up, so why did he transmigrate?

In an instant, fragmented memories invaded him, the dizziness and pain intensified. William did not try to read the memories, he closed his eyes and remained like a statue for 10 minutes until the fragmented memories stopped coming.

Then, he slowly opened his eyes, he no longer had the drowsiness that lulled him to sleep when he first woke up, now he could think more clearly.

The door to his room was opened.

--Terry, it's time to eat,-- spoke a boy older than him, William naturally deduced that it was his older brother.

William nodded slightly with an expressionless face as he watched him, his brother stood in the doorway for a moment with a confused look on his face.

--Are you all right?-- his older brother asked skeptically.

--Yes, I'm fine-- William answer, looking at him with eyes that seems as deep as a bottomless pit.

--Ok...-- Mentioned his brother looking at him with a complex face, as if he knew he was someone else. Then the door was closed and the older brother left with noisy footsteps fading away.

William squinted his eyes, without thinking about it, memories came to him more clearly as he saw his brother's face and he could understand his confusion.

Terry Brown, the youngest son of two deceased parents, he and his older brother were adopted by their aunt and uncle. Terry found in violence a way to let off steam, because of that his older brother named Damian Brown, was surprised to see him so calm and not see his aggressive way of expressing himself. William concluded in his thoughts while evaluating some random memories.

He looked around the room and saw a Batman toy lying on the floor. He recognized it because he had heard of the character and had inevitably seen it around.

Memories flashed vividly before his eyes, for a moment he lost his breath and his eyes opened wide.

Memories of Terry seeing the superhero named Batman, memories of seeing villains and memories of disasters saved by superheroes. Had he been reincarnated into a world of superheroes? Yes, he had. The memories confirmed it.

William was never attracted to the world of superheroes, he only knew about superheroes like Batman, Superman and Spiderman because they are famous. It's inevitable that he knows about them, but what the hell, William doesn't even know their real names.

That's going to be a problem. William thought in his mind as he closed his eyes.

--Terry! Come down and eat-- exclaim a female voice from downstairs.
