Family of Hunters

Everyone was speechless upon hearing Scarlett mention about her desire to be a hunter herself.

"W-What? T-That's absurd! Who is a hunter in the family?" Gary feigned ignorance.

And Alec wiped himself from the mess he just created.

Butler Fredo helped his young master to clean up.

While Edward and Richard looked at each other regarding the sudden utterance of Scarlett about their family being affiliated with hunters.

"You are not a good liar, big brother. I am already aware of it!" Scarlett told her father and older brother.

"How did you find out? Who told you?" Edward, the eldest brother asked his only sister.

Deep inside, Scarlett thought of the real reason on how she knew about it.

Depicting their responsibilities and duties in protecting humans from all types of supernatural threats. Especially, the world they lived in was dominated by werewolves. Thus, the presence of the hunters was much needed by the humans.>>

'Normal humans at daylight, hunters at night!' She thought to herself.

Then she answered her oldest brother's query.

"No one told me, I already had suspicion before. Like your late night escapades and unexplainable interest for different types of weapons. I also realized that every employee and staff in the mansion had certain things with an emblem of a phoenix."

Scarlet continued explaining, "And yesterday… even our chauffeur had one and turned into a spear. According to the history books, family of hunters had certain emblems that represents each household. Bound by duty to protect humanity."

"You are surprisingly observant, aren't you?" Edward smiled as he was impressed at the observation and assessment of his only sister.

They thought their only sister and youngest sibling was being observant and clever. Unknown to them, Scarlett already knew because everything was part of a novel she has already read.

Gary nudged his older brother for not denying.

"I guess it's pointless to deny your discovery. This is not how we planned to tell you. But regarding your request about becoming a professional hunter yourself, we will think about it and discuss with your brothers." Richard Pride told his only daughter.

He further asked, "So answer me, why would you need to disobey and go against my orders?"

Scarlett heaved a sigh in finding the right reason for her to explain without sounding suspicious with her sudden knowledge and awareness.

"I was planning to express my desire to be part of our family business aside from handling charitable works. I had some ideas on how our family business can earn profitable income with a wider range of target consumers. In terms of fashion and jewelry. Then in our construction business, I have a better idea of finding other investors rather than relying too much on the Alpha of the Crescent Moon Pack. I think my talent and creative strategies will grant us more profit in business, independently and legally."

Another surprising batch of words came from Scarlett.

She was never known to be involved in terms of their family business.

Mostly, she was more known for handling their family's charity works behind the scenes.

Her brothers and father could not believe that Scarlett could have this much inputs within her.

And the interest to help their family.

Just like the late wife of Richard Pride, she was also a knowledgeable, wise, and a fierce fighter.

It made Richard Pride fear for his only daughter to take the same path as his late wife did.

"Father, please consider of allowing me to help you and our family because the werewolves are on the verge of war." Scarlett shared such crucial information that shocked the men of her family.

Including Butler Fredo.

"HOW DID YOU KNOW? THAT'S A TOP SECRET INFORMATION!" Alec wondered.

Scarlett immediately clarified herself, "It's easy to discern the relations of each region from one another. Based on the recent news, other regions are steering away from the monarch of the central region. Basically with this, it only incites power struggle amongst the top of the hierarchy."

Each of the wolf packs respectively led by a royal member or relative of the royal family.

The current queen of werewolves belonged to the Eclipse Pack while her brother ruled as the Alpha.

At the same time, the king of werewolves remained to be the Alpha of the Midnight Pack.

Putting all its members as the personal royal army of the central region.

While on the other hand…

The eldest son of the king, Prince Kratos, ruled the Crescent Moon Pack as their Alpha.

"Knowing the monarchs of the central region would not allow such a thing to happen especially they have the majority of the power of influence at the moment. We can only expect further tension amongst the werewolves and rebels would rise up eventually."

Scarlett further elaborated, "Yesterday was just an example of upcoming incidents that will take place. So, father… I do not want to sit around and do nothing while we become casualties of the conflicts between the werewolves and other supernatural creatures."

Upon contemplating on Scarlett's words, Richard Pride finally gave in and allowed Scarlett to work in their company as the new division chief of planning and strategy.

Giving her the chance to help the Pride Family.

The other older brothers smiled at their delight that their only sister was finally being active than the usual.

'YES! SUCCESS!' celebrating in her mind.

"So, how about my hunter's training? Am I getting the action?" Trying her best to get her father's permission in becoming a professional hunter.

"Don't push your luck with me! I said… I will think about it if it will be good for you to train and become involved in such dangerous activities."

Scarlett interjected, "You cannot shield me from the real world forever, father! If you do not allow me to learn how to fight… how will I protect myself if all of you are gone? How can I save anyone if I cannot save my own self from the dangers lurking around us?"

Only silence was Richard Pride's response to his only daughter.

"Fredo, kindly prepare my meeting for tomorrow. Confirm all the requests for appointment and business meeting tomorrow. And invite them for a dinner because it will be Scarlett's first day at work."

Her older brothers were happy for Scarlett.

Being proud of her own tenacity.

"Ooh, definitely tomorrow will be a feast!" Gary remarked.

Each of the brothers expressed their expectation for tomorrow's dinner in celebration of Scarlett's first day at work.

In the middle of the noise of the conversations of her older brothers and father, Scarlett remembered her foster family.

'I miss you guys!' Looking at the sky outside the window as she pondered on their memories together.

'I need to survive this story before I can find my way back to you guys. Once I find a way to survive from my impending doom and assure my life's stability through removing all possible threats. Returning to my real family will be my priority.' Scarlett promised to herself as she thought of her priorities.
