Deceiving people

Daisy felt that her version of the seismic radar was still lacking. During long journeys like this, it became difficult to distinguish objects when there were too many around. Her vision, hearing, and seismic sensing often became confused.

From a reconnaissance perspective, it was far from Daredevil's super senses.

"Hurry up, search over there!" Before she could study more carefully, a noisy voice reached her ears.

She tossed the dazed tattooed man into the shadowy corner, preparing to interrogate him later.

Daisy glanced around the surroundings. To her left was a regular apartment building. She took a couple of steps for a running start, leaped high, grabbed the eaves, and flipped onto the roof.

She took out her pistol and aimed it at the street corner.

Not long after, a man with a mohawk hairstyle appeared in her line of sight. Regular people would typically focus on their front, back, and sides, rarely looking up to check for enemies.

The distance wasn't too far, just over twenty meters in a straight line. However, one was concealed in the shadows, while the other stood in the open. Taking advantage of this time gap, Daisy generated a small burst of energy on her wrist. For precision, she held the pistol with both hands, aiming for the man's head, and decisively pulled the trigger.

After the gunshot, the man made a slight upward motion with his head reflexively, but it was already too late.

With a muffled sound, the bullet entered his left eye and exited through the back of his skull. The man convulsed a couple of times and then went still.

Daisy quickly leaped to another rooftop, sensing the presence of two more enemies.

The two men who had been chasing her all this while regrouped, looking a bit flustered as they stared at their fallen comrade.

They quickly retreated, drawing their handguns and scanning their surroundings warily.

Daisy observed them from a distance, aiming a few times, but her accuracy wasn't great. Her pistol had an effective range of fifty meters, and hitting a moving target reduced precision. She relied on her physical abilities and her power to assist her shooting, but she was far from being a sharpshooter.

She remained still, hiding while the men continued to fire around, attempting to find her trace.

Realising the situation was getting out of control, the bald man hurriedly pulled out his phone.

Before the call could connect, a gunshot rang out, and he felt a warm liquid on the hand holding the phone. Realising something was wrong, he quickly lunged to the side like a cornered animal, dodging the enemy's line of fire. He then turned to see his companion with a gaping hole in his forehead, blood splattering onto his hand.

His reaction was swift, quickly getting up, and firing several shots in the direction the bullets had come from.

Daisy returned fire, but the man was prepared, and with the distance being quite far, coupled with luck not being on her side, the bullet grazed the bald man's left arm.

At that moment, the bald man spotted her position, standing on a rooftop! When did this person get up there?

He pressed himself against the wall, holding a phone that had been washed by blood, trying to make a call but it wouldn't turn on.

He tossed the phone aside in frustration, remaining vigilant and watching the direction of the rooftop.

"We mean no harm. Madam admires you and wants to have a talk with you." He shouted.

Daisy nearly burst out laughing. Do I look that naive? Blatant hostility and you think I can't see it?

"Your marksmanship is quite good. Have we misunderstood something?" The bald man seemed wary of her marksmanship. While speaking nonsense, he surveyed the surroundings, looking for a shortcut to rush in and engage Daisy in close combat.

Little did he know, Daisy had the same idea. Her physique was nowhere near that of Captain America's. Could she get shot and just lie still for ten seconds, then get up on her own? No, she wasn't that durable. Luck was an unpredictable factor; what if the guy shot her with his eyes closed? That would be just too unfair.

Sensing the bald man's position, she slipped down and waited for him in a corner.

The bald man held a dagger in his left hand, a pistol in his right, pressed against the wall, his eyes darting around. However, his heavy breathing gave him away.

With her left hand on the ground, Daisy triggered her power.

What was beneath the ground? The bald man suddenly felt his feet tremble. The wooden floor creaked and groaned, drawing his attention.

An earthquake? Before he could process the thought, a gunshot resonated, leading him into death.

Daisy dealt with the enemy, tossing her empty pistol at the bald man. He didn't move, clearly dead.

She hadn't noticed before, but seeing the bloody mess up close was unsettling. She forced herself to imagine the guy as a monster from a game, suppressing her nausea as she patted down the body.

This guy was relatively well-off, carrying two hundred dollars on him, a Beretta 92F, and two magazines.

Daisy wasted no time pocketing them, feeling safer with a gun in her hand. She then searched the other two bodies. One had an empty pistol; the other hadn't brought one. She discarded the pistols without bullets and ransacked their wallets. Daisy's total assets were back to eight thousand dollars!

Picking up a piece of wood from the ground, she delivered a few blows to the initially unconscious tattooed man.

She hit him until he was unrecognisable, and he finally regained consciousness.

Seeing the gun glaring in front of him, he was dumbstruck.

Daisy asked, "Who sent you? Why were you tracking me?"

The tattooed man's eyes flickered as he seemed to search for a weapon.

Daisy was getting annoyed. "I'm pointing a gun at you! Is the threat from a woman so negligible in your eyes?"

Bang! A shot pierced through the tattooed man's foot.

"Tell me!"

The tattooed man, his face full of malice, gritted his teeth, seemingly attempting to stand up despite the pain.

Daisy fired again, piercing his other foot.

"I'll talk, I'll talk!"

The tattooed man writhed on the ground, clutching his foot. With Daisy's gun aimed at his head, he finally surrendered.

"It... it was Madam's order!"

"That old lady? I don't even know her."

The tattooed man glanced at her, quickly lowering his head.

"If you catch me, what will that old lady do to me?" Daisy continued.

The tattooed man's face turned pale, trembling like a sieve.

Daisy pointed the gun at his forehead, and her intentions were clear.

"I'll talk, but you can't kill me!"

"I won't kill you." Daisy's words were like divine music to the tattooed man. Before his joy could fully surface, a bullet grew larger and larger before his eyes, until it pierced through his skull.

"A little reminder for your next life : never trust a pretty woman's words." Daisy didn't feel the need to keep her promise. She holstered the pistol back into her backpack and left the crime scene, leaving behind four lifeless bodies.
