Chapter 12

"Cody," I cup his cheeks with a tender heart and smile, "I'm not pregnant and I surely don't have a boyfriend, mom and Tiffany are loco." I cross my eyes which makes him laugh, "I'm not Tiffany, I know our actions affect the ones we love and I will never do anything that would hurt you." his orbs glisten with tears at my words and a small smile spreads across his lips,

"Thank you Eris!" he hugs the life out of me and I return the gesture. I love him.

"If it makes you feel secure I can get a pregnancy test done for you." I joke and he cackles,

"No worries but you have to show me your boyfriend when you find him. And also use protection!" I burst into laughter and salute him. It was only normal for him to feel scared, he didn't want to have to go through the fear of almost losing a sister again.

"Waffles are ready!" We settle down to eat, Cody keeps staring at me wondering how I could look so cool eating something so hot. My leftovers are always eaten by me, no one else.

"Make sure you lock the door behind me!" I rush out the door,

"Sure! Bye Eris!" Cody waves me goodbye as I jog down to Debbie's house to get my shot administered. Her mom's a nurse too and she's always free on Saturdays so what better way. I wave a good morning to Andy the paper man and he waves back, he probably still remembers the incident with me.

I reach Debbie's house and I give the door a gentle knock, I hear Debbie scream in joy and the door opens almost immediately. I'm hit with a bear hug almost losing my balance,

"Good morning!" I say in between fits of laughs, "don't you get visitors often?" I place a kiss on her forehead as she adjusts her glasses,

"We do but you're the only one who doesn't use the doorbell."

"We need to change that," she laughs at my statement and let's me in.

"Morning Mrs Cooper!" I greet,

"Morning Eris!!" Her voice echoes from the kitchen, she's always happy to see me, "what brings you here?" She steps out of the kitchen to give me her enchanting smile,

"Well I have meds and I need help with them so I thought of you, no better person to help me." I return the smile and she giggles at the compliment,

"Okay, give me a minute." she enters into the kitchen once more,

"Hey, how are you feeling now champion?" Debbie inquiries,

"Way better." we talk about school and other things. I get my shot with minimal pain and hang out with my half sister for a while.

Well hours actually.

What? I had no homework and I wasn't ready to stay in my room all day doing nothing. So with a lot of persuasion most of it from Debbie, we manage to squeeze out money from her mom to go to a nearby amusement park.

It was fun. We won so many prizes. Well I won so many prizes for her. We laugh as we approach her door talking about how fun it was. The sun was already setting and I still didn't feel like returning home, I didn't feel secure with my family.

"You girls are back rather early," Max Cooper, Debbie's beloved dad greets us sarcastically, "I almost thought you'd run away with my daughter Eris." he jokes and I laugh,

I'll only do that when she isn't afraid of me dying." he laughs and Debbie pouts, she's not a fan of my dark humor, especially when it's geared to me.

We gather round the table to have dinner and I leave Cody a message telling him I'm having dinner at Debbie's. I drop my phone to have delicious food until I hear my phone beep,

[Daylon: You still game for tonight? 😉]

I almost choke on the water I've been sipping, I almost forgot! I reply positive and we agree on 10pm, Debbie suspects me as I passively rush my food.

After dinner I get my final shot for today and decide to head out, Debbie begs for a sleepover but I kindly decline and tell her next weekend. She sulks and I dash back home. My parents didn't seem to mind that I was out all day, they only had a problem with me coming back.

I cuddle Tyler for a while then head to my room to relax, I stare at my empty bed,

"So lonely, maybe I do need a boyfriend." I sigh and head to the shower. I'm out after a while and settle in my bed wearing shorts and loose White top, I pull out my literature.

Time passes with pages and I'm downing my 7th Mars, I hear my phone beep,

[Daylon: I'm outside your window, bring some snacks on your way down please 😋😊]

A smile creeps up my lips, I quietly open my door and notice the silence which means everyone was asleep, I lock my door afterwards and put on some flops, while my family kept to early bedtimes, I loved going out at night.

I got it from my er... ancestors.

I grab my phone, a couple of bars and my wits and just as I was about to jump down I grab my tits. Was a bra necessary? Nah.

I land on my feet to meet his charming smile that always knew a secret passage to my heart,

"You look good." I compliment him with a smile,

"You also look um..." his eyes wander downward, "really good." he mumbles his last two words. I raise his chin up,

"My face is up here," I knock him out of his thoughts, "shall we?"

"Um yeah." his cheeks flushed.

Daylon is more interesting than he appears to be, his family is pretty normal, with him being the only kid they should be a little protective but instead they're rather loose.

His smile, his laugh, they're enchanting. His persona makes him glow even in the darkest nights, his golden locks imitate the sun, his orbs are like an endless green sea, it's only normal that all the girls at school are crushing on him.

But to me it was something more, something familiar. I remember the dream and the saliva in my throat hitches,

"Are you okay?" He asks concerned,

"I just need water." I hold my throat instinctively and he brings out a small bottle of water from his hoodie, he gently tips the bottle letting the water pour into my mouth while using his left hand to hold my chin. He wipes my lips with his thumb,

"Better?"

I nod.

"Great!" He beams and I involuntarily touch my lips, it felt strange to me. He stares into my eyes as if searching for something and I'm flooded with familiarity, "you're really beautiful Eris." he whispers into my ear, I feel my cheeks flush.

What is he trying to do?

"Thank you but it feels like there is something else you're trying to get across." I smirk at him and he chuckles, "say why didn't you go to Lilac's party?" I shoot at him,

"Wasn't interested really." his shoulders slump,

"She likes you though." my grin grows,

"I know." and his sigh becomes heavier. I burst into a fit of laughter over his predicament.

I check my phone and it reads 11:30pm, "I should get going." I yawn, sleep getting a hold on me,

"I'll walk you home."

I turn to meet his beaming smile, it's like that was what he always did. Smile. I'm flooded with the same feeling, I subconsciously reach to his face and my fingers brush his cheeks, he is just as surprised as I am,

"Sorry." I pull my fingers quickly, I was slowly losing control of myself. It just felt so right to touch him. The same blue eyes flash through my mind at lightning speed, I look up into his emerald eyes and I start to see the blue in them, my breath hitches,

"It's okay. Are you alright Eris?" He is concerned as usual and I am lost in thought as always. Was I just hallucinating or was it real? I nod slowly and begin moving in the direction of my house with him right behind me.

The silence is long but comfortable, I am immersed in my thoughts and he in the stars, he reaches to the sky to grab a star like a child only to remember he couldn't hold one, he chuckles to himself,

"So beautiful." he breathes out and turns to meet my gaze on him, "I would've gotten one for you but I guess I can't hold one." he jokes with his cheeks slightly pink. I smile,

"The stars and I do not belong together. They're light and I'm darkness." my gaze moves to my feet,

"It's only in the darkness that they can show their true beauty. So without you, they're nothing" he grins at the sky.

I turn to him and I punch him in the arm, he whelps and rubs his shoulder, "cheesy much!!"

"You started it!!!" He complains and I burst into laughter. His gaze softens as he sees me laugh hysterically and he then feels a thump in his heart, he holds his heart instinctively. The feeling felt so familiar to him.

"Why are all the bad things associated with the darkness?" My mouth speaks the words in my heart,

"What do you mean??!" His eyes show amusement, "the darkness isn't bad! I mean, so many good things happen at night; the moon and stars, sleep, silence, sex," he rambles on and his last word catches my attention,

"Excuse me?"

"What?" He was confused until he remembered his last word, his eyes begin to shift, I lunge a punch at him but he dodges and runs away from me, "I didn't mean it like that!!"

I chase him until we get tired and end up laughing and panting,

"Your mind needs cleaning," I pant,

"I'm sure yours is worse." he teases,

"Why you??!!" I try to hit him once more but he dodges, I throw multiple punches at him and he dodges every single one of them, I aim a kick at his head but he back flips away from me, "so you have moves huh?!" I go after him. It turns into a little sparing session and we had no idea how we were doing this but we just went with it. I being offensive and he defensive.

I finally manage to land a punch in his mid section, "ouch Eris!!" He whines but I'm too caught up in the fun of a playful fight,

"Did it hurt??" I tease him with giggles escaping my lips, I attack again but he grabs my hand pulls me a bit too close to him. I struggle but he holds me in place with his boyish strength.

I feel his breath on my skin, I could hear our heart beats as they slowly harmonized together, his lips were just above mine just an inch away and we were both lost in each others eyes. We were there for what felt like eternity but was only a few seconds.

"You really need to get home, I'll get even with you later" he whispers into my ear, his voice holding danger and more playful than ever. My body heats up and my throat becomes dry, he pulls some strands of hair away from my face to get a better look at me.

My body began craving him.

I try to suppress my thoughts from becoming wild, my eyes shift to the sky.
