Chapter 2 First day back

I woke up to the sound of my mum yelling while entering my room. "Bebe, wake the hell up, what are you doing?" I groaned in disbelief at the sound of my mom's voice hissing at me. I turned to the right side of my bed to check my clock, 7:14am. "Oh my goodness Mama, it's only 7:14, AM" you tried to emphasise the last part, thinking she was making a mistake by waking you up so early.

"I know", your mother projected loudly, while opening up the curtain to let the light in, "OH MY GOD, my eyes!", "and if you havent noticed," she said while pointing directly at the date on my calendar, "it's the first day of school" she had grinned in a relieved sense, finally having an excuse to get me out of the house.

"What, no way, I swear I have like 4 days till school starts", I quickly jumped out of bed into my slippers,"Hate to break it to you Bebe, actually I dont, but yeah, Yaya is gonna be here soon so get ready." My mom said while giving me a reassuring pat on the back before leaving my room to give me some privacy.

I sat back on my bed for what I believe was about ten minutes, before I heard my mom yell goodbye throughout the house, then slamming the door behind her and running through the rain to get to her car and drive off to work. I snapped back into reality when I had heard her leave. I got up and chose my outfit for the first day of school.

I chose a simple outfit that I knew I wouldn't get too hot or cold in. I had showered last night so I figured I wouldn't need to waste any extra time getting ready since I was already late.

I heard the front door shut and I knew my day was about to get better. "BEBE!", "YO YAYA!" I replied back to my bestie letting her know I heard her call. "COME UP ALREADY" I shouted loud enough, hoping she could still hear me. I heard running up the stairs and then a thud, "I'M OKAY,"I heard coming from the hallway,"Just another bruise to add to my collection", Yenitha playfully pulled down her turtleneck a little as she walked into my bedroom, exposing her neck full of hickeys that I'm guessing her boyfriend, Dimitri gifted her with; since I had been with her yesterday and hadn't seen her neck with so many hickeys on them. "Ooh," I said skipping towards her like a child, "I like the red ones, they really make your eyeshadow pop! Well, when they're not covered." She shot me a playful wink as she took a bite out of the waffle she had in her hand. "Mom made breakfast?", "mhmm, you want the second waffle?" Yenitha asked me while checking her face in the mirrror, "no, just save me those eggs please?" She signalled a yes to me while nodding in the mirror, still holding the plate of food. I walked up next to her while finishing with putting the cream on my face and grabbing my bag. "No makeup today?" She asked, "No, no time, let's go" I said while finishing the eggs on the way downstairs, trying not to miss a step. Yenitha was holding onto me as support, eventhough I knew there was more of a chance of us both falling if I tripped rather than her catching and pulling me back up.

I quickly ran to the sink to wash my dish while Yen grabbed two bottles of ice tea from the fridge. "Give me one sec" I said, sprinting up the stairs again to quickly brush my teeth and take a shot of mouthwash. After grabbing my pack of gum from my bedside, I quickly shut my  bedroom door and ran down the stairs again.

Yaya was waiting patiently at the door for me with her bag and shoes already on, "here I said, passing her some gum" she held her hand to her chest and stepped back in disbelief. "You don't need it Yaya, it's just I know it's your favourite flavour, take one", she playfully grinned at me and took the gum, while I threw my shoes on. "By the way," Yen mentioned as we began to walk out the front of the house, "Orion is driving us." She said as she slowly turned her head away, "What? I thought it was gonna be just us", I said, "he needed a ride Bebe,"she looked back at me, "it's fine, its no big deal, I just didn't expect it", I said before kissing her on the cheek, "I love you" she said to me, "no, I love you" I said as I slung my arm around her shoulder, "I know" she said as we started to giggle like little kids.

She opened the car door and Orion smiled at us, with his perfect capped teeth, thus, exposing his small dimples. "Took you girls long enough, school starts soon, get in." We both hopped in the car, and I sat in the back.

I wasnt afraid of Orion,  nor did I have anything against him, but there was something about him being 19 and super beautiful that made me just not want to look at him. Because if I took one glance, I just know that I wouldn't be able to look away.
