Arrival Of Iris

"You, hand over all of your stuff if you want to live."

Leonidas knew that they were not a threat to him, "If you want to live, then step out of the way and forget this ever happened."

"lads, look at this idiot trying to threaten us. There's five of us and one of you, what are you going to do?"

"I'll kill all of you in a few seconds if you don't move out of my way."

The men seemed angry and ran towards Leonidas with their bats and knives brandished. They were not very fast or strong as they had not seemed to eat any evolutionary material yet.

Leonidas tested his newly evolved Lightning ability on the people and shot out a much more powerful lightning bolt than he did before. The electricity coursed through the man's body and it bounced off of him into the others as well. All of their heads blew up and their bodies were fried and fell onto the ground.

Leonidas wanted to test something out and plunged his hand into one of the men's chest where his heart should be and pulled it out. He thought that it might have just been a heart but it was in fact an evolutionary material which was different from the zombie material as it was a deep red colour which was surprising to Leonidas as he believed that they had not eaten any materials. He realised that they might have just not known how to use their abilities as they had only just obtained them.

Leonidas ate all of the evolution material from them and felt a tiny increase in evolution to the third stage but it was basically unnoticeable. He heard the phone of one of the men ringing and he picked it up and answered.

"Did you get any more of those zombie hearts? Bring them back to the boss and you'll be rewarded."

"Sorry, your friend can't come to the phone right now, but I would like to know where your boss is located."

"I don't know who you are, but if you want trouble then come to the warehouse on Grove Street and we'll give it to you."

Leonidas put down the phone and threw it away. He started running as fast as he could and very soon after, he reached the warehouse.

He entered through the front and saw twenty men carrying machetes who were ready to kill him. They all seemed to have eaten around two or three evolution materials but were not anywhere near as strong as Leonidas.

He saw two of them turn their arms into metal. Five of them were now a bit larger and had muscles that ripped out of their clothes. Three of them had claws and they were sharp enough to cut through a normal person. Ten of them seemed to not have any control over their powers and were unable to wield them.

Leonidas shot out a poison gas towards them and the enemies inhaled it which caused them to hallucinate and start to fight one another as they believed that their comrades were Leonidas.

Once they had all killed each other, it ended up just being one of the ones with the metal arms remaining. Leonidas used Ice to freeze the mans body and then punched the frozen corpse and shattered it.

He stepped over the dead bodies and walked up to the back room. Leonidas kicked open the door and saw a bald man sitting on a large chair with men surrounding the outside of him for protection. There were a few girls on the ground in front of him with ripped clothes and tears in their eyes.

The man in the chair looked over at Leonidas and looked angry, "You killed my men, now we're gonna kill you."

"I'd like to see you try."

The ten men surrounding the boss activated their abilities. Two of them emitted tendrils from their hands which were sharp and able to extend about two meters. Four of them had summoned weapons, two of them were swords, one an axe, and the other a knife. The other four had animal like mutations, two of them had tiger-like arms and the other two had praying mantis arms. Both were extremely sharp and deadly but they would not be able to beat Leonidas as he could attack them from afar.

Leonidas used his Lightning ability to imbue more power into his punches and dashed towards the axe wielding man, he punched him in the stomach and put a hole through his body and instantly killed him. The two enemies with swords and the one with the knife charged at Leonidas, he used his Ice element to shoot an ice spike into the head of the knife wielding enemy. He shot a lightning bolt that bounced between both enemies that had swords.

Both of the tendril hand enemies came towards Leonidas who did not consider them as threats and created a spear of ice and sliced open both of their necks.

One of the people with tiger arms and one with mantis arms came straight towards him, and the other two circled around each side. He parried one of the attacks from the tiger mutant and punched him in the throat, he grabbed the mantis mutant's head and crushed it. He ripped off one of the arms and sliced at the tiger mutant coming from the side which killed it in one go. He ducked under the attack of the remaining mutant and kicked off his head.

The boss was the only remaining enemy and he would obviously be the strongest so far. He activated his ability and horns grew from his head and his skin tone became more red. He grew a bit taller and his muscles became larger.

The boss of the bandits, or gang, stood up from his chair and looked at Leonidas. He walked over to him and threw a punch at Leonidas, he dodged it and kicked his leg. The boss was clearly injured as he dropped down slightly on one side. Leonidas grabbed the boss' arm and used Lightning to shock him. He took a lot of damage and his right side was paralysed. Leonidas created a knife from ice and plunged it into the boss' chest. He fell to the ground and his ability deactivated which showed that he was dead.

He put his hand into his chest and pulled out the burning red evolutionary material and used his duplication ability on it. It worked, and he ate both of them which gave him quite a big boost in his progress to the third stage.

He turned to the girls on the ground and asked them, "What abilities do you all have."

None of them had anything useful so he decided to leave them where they were lying as they would be useful.

He saw a door at the back that seemed to lead to a storage facility of some sort. He opened the door and saw a girl with ropes around her ankles and hands and duct tape over her mouth. She was a beautiful girl with red hair that only reached her shoulders. She had a well proportioned body that was impressive to say the least. Leonidas ripped off the duct tape and asked her what ability she has as none of that mattered to him if she was useless.

She told him that she did not know as she hadn't eaten any evolution material yet. He pulled one out from one of the mutated tiger men and told her to eat it. Once she swallowed it, she instantly knew what ability she had.

It was a healing ability that worked on herself and others which would be very valuable to Leonidas.

He asked what her name was and she responded, "My name is Iris, thank you for saving me."

"No problem, your ability will be useful to me so you're coming with me. The materials from these guys will only help me a bit so I'll give half of them to you."

He took all of the material from the grunts that he had killed so far and duplicated them all. He gave half to Iris and told her to eat them while he swallowed his half. She ate them all and her healing ability evolved and she reached the second stage. Although her ability was for healing, she was also about six times stronger than an average human.

She agreed to go with Leonidas and they walked out of the warehouse and left the other girls on the ground as they were of no use to killing zombies.

The two of them went to search for more zombies to kill so they could evolve further.
